Feature requests

Tell us here what features you would like to see in upcoming releases of Enpass.

  1. The ability to create multiple vaults is extremely useful, but maintaining identical entries, across several vaults, is time-consuming and or prone to error. As a feature consideration, if every entry copied from the Primary vault, to a secondary vault, could be internally linked, any update made to that entry would automatically update the matching entry in all other vaults. The most flexible, would be two-way syncing where an entry can be updated via any vault, Primary or Secondary. But possibly a more stable approach, would be to treat the Primary vault as the master, so only when an entry is updated via the Primary vault, would it then synchronize that chang…

In all applications i use the Save button is placed to the left in the save dialog. However, in Enpass the Save button is placed to the right and the Delete button is the one placed to the left. So, when i edit a field in Enpass i have too many times just pressed the button to the left and instead of saving what i did i ended up deleteing the column. Is there a reason behind why Enpass have the Save button to the right instead of the standard left? So please, follow other applications and place the Save button to the left as one are used to. The attached image shows examples of app that have their Save button to the left while Enpass have it to the right. …

As far as i know enpass is perfect just without few bugs (if there are any) which enpass team fix but there is a feature which i miss in enpass. Which is PGP Features like few other password managers have. I think adding pgp to enpass will complete it's needs as one stop shop for most required security features. People like me use pgp daily and many people are getting aware of encryption using pgp so i think it is a great feature to have in a great password manager.

  4. Not sure if this is already a requested feature but as a long time Enpass user I have a request that gets annoying sometimes. I try to update my passwords once a year. But unfortunately, every website has their own password rule w.r.t what special chars are allowed/not-allowed, what is the password length etc... and sometimes I find out these rules after trying to set password (and failing multiple times) that they don't support some particular character(s). Enpass has a generate button which makes it easy to generate the passwords on the fly for an account. It would be great if enpass could remember what the rules were when I last updated a password for an acco…

More than 5MB would be great. Just have a warning if syncing to the cloud. Bitwarden = 500MB

  6. Hello, we need enpass with private AND company accounts. The private account sync with dropbox and the company account syncs with an google email. Today we can not switch the accounts - or is there a solution now? Best regards, MAS

Hi, I love enpass, but sometimes I'm slightly annoyed with the autofill. There are some credentials that has three or fields to fill in when logging in (excluding OTP), this usually doesn't work so well as it fills in the username field for all other fields. It would be nice to specify an element ID on a webpage to be filled in with a specific element within Enpass. Additionally, I use a lot of SSO, however, the login may vary from just a username to an email. I'd like to contain all of it within one item, however it will always fill in either the username or the email. Again, allowing me to specify and override the default autofill with element ID's for specific web…

  8. I've been playing around with the JSON export feature in Enpass, and I have to say that I'm quite impressed by the amount of information I can get out in a relatively easy to process format. Very well done! However, I'm missing two bits of information that I would like to see included: The creation date of an item. Currently only the last modified date is available, but since the created date is also shown in the UI, I think it would make sense to also include it for each item in the JSON. Information on whether or not an item was trashed or archived. The export wizard allows you to include these items in the export, but I don't see any indication in the …

  9. The Enpass widget popups for 2FA SMS inputs and will overlay browser 2FA autofill widget. I suggest that Enpass should not auto-trigger for input with autocomplete="one-time-code". If this input is for OTP from Enpass then this value would be in the clipboard after the login and thus should also not need the widget. So I don't see much value in showing the Enpass widget for this type of input?

  10. Increasingly, web accounts are setting minimum periods of inactivity (often as little as 3 months) before an account is considered abandoned and marked for closure. It would be helpful if Enpass allowed a user to add calendar reminders, for each entry. The existing password expiry period feature is useful, and being able to add more general reminders, with a note, would ensure a user never overlooked infrequently used accounts. Setting specific dates would be the most effective, but using the same approach as the password expiry feature would also be helpful. Thank you for Enpass' continued development

One of my favorite features in the desktop version of 1Password is that you can directly drag and drop the username/password into a text box for filling. I hope Enpass can also achieve this function.

  12. In some cases, some passwords are not up to us (ie when it's for testing websites or work - like i have a password that's "super" secure - 1234, but i can't change it and it's behind a challenge anyway). It would be nice to have the ability to move something from "weak" and ignore it.

  13. Hi there, I would like Enpass to allow more controls on automatic backups. Currently, Enpass allows automatic backups (or simply disable them and create them manually). That's fine, but I'd like to see more controls to customize backups. For example, limiting the times to create backups in a day, or from which change a backup should be made, or how many backups should be logged or even an option to auto-delete backups according to Its age. A considerable number of backup copies are stored on the PC, which can weigh up to more than 600 MB (with a database of 6 MB or less). Thanks.

I miss the support for Linux on ARM64. Enpass is my favourite tool for password management. In our DevOps community we all work with Enpass. But for now we miss the support of Linux ARM64. The spread of the ARM64 processor is increasing rapidly. Not only AWS, who provide it on their instances. Rasspery PI also uses it. Apple's M1 is also fuelling this, since it too is ultimately an ARM64. Is the implementation already planned on your roadmap?

  15. Now that iOS 15 is out, you might want to look into creating an extension for Safari on iOS. It looks like you'll get much better integration and a better password experience that way.

Hey there, are there any plans to come up with business plans and SSO connection via Azure AD? Thank you.

1Password just recently announced masked E-Mail support using fastmail. Do you have something similar planned?

  18. When I visit a website, if I look for the icon in my browser, it doesn't display a how many password items I have saved for website. Would be nice to have this, especially for websites like email, reddit or w/e where I have multiple logins. Love this Enpass, great stuff!

Hello everyone, this morning, when customizing the launcher on my new mobile, I had an idea: Wouldn't it make sense for Enpass to support widgets? Imagine, seeing the TOTP numbers for your most frequently used logins on your launcher without the need to open Enpass? Customizing and handling the widget could be done like the Android-Watch feature: Selecting a checkbox like "show on widget" would display the TOTP.

  20. Not sure if you were aware, but Grammarly for Windows, a replacement for their desktop editor, is an app that detects and corrects text entries in almost any application. On trying the app, I discovered that entering text into the Enpass desktop software 6.7.4 (935) and browser extension (6.7.4) was detected by Grammarly! While the text I entered into Enpass did not appear in the Grammarly app it certainly recognized I was (A) using an app and (B) was entering text. The unknown is whether the text entered is still registered by Grammarly (i.e. sent to their servers), and simply not displayed, or whether it truly can't 'see' what I'm typing. While a user can manually …

  21. Hi, First, I'm sorry that I don't know whether the words auto-fill field I used is correct or not. I hope you will understand after I explain my idea. What I'm taking is on iOS. When we face a log in form, we can choose Enpass to open the app (instead of choose suggested accounts that Enpass showed under the username/password box where we move the cursor on). I called that is opening Enpass from auto-fill field. When opening Enpass in this situation, I see the vault's icon has a motion ring that looks like it's syncing. But no, it doesn't. Compared to 1password, it sync every time we open the app. So, please support the same ideas with 1password, let …

  22. Just about yesterday I had to login to enpass using my friends laptop and import the database which i hosted on dropbox. Then after importing it I realised I needed to have my premium account on his laptop to view all the passwords but couldn't do it because I didn't have access to my email. Then I realised it would be much better if Enpass adds am option to login to my account using a password instead of a code which is delivered to my email.

Hi, I like the Windows Hello support in Enpass. The main Enpass app launches always defaulting to asking for password, even when Windows Hello is enabled, requiring users to click on the smiley icon to start Windows Hello login. Can we change the app behaviour such that if Windows Hello is enabled, then it should be default in the main app? This is already the case with the Enpass extension in Chrome (and presumably for other browsers but I don't use them so I don't know for sure). It would be nice for this behaviour to be extended to the main app window too.

Hi, I think the idea of Trash is fantastic. I would like to suggest a feature that exists in Google products whereby Trash is automatically emptied after a number of days. An improvement would be to allow the users to set the number of days to keep trashed items before deleting them (in settings). I would suggest options such as Manual Deletion, x days, immediate deletion. I would suggest a default of 30 days. Regards,
