When the result shows up, focus shifts to the Home category. This forces you to again focus the searchbar to continue searching.

Whenever I trigger the unlock with Fingerprint recognition, the PIN input window "flashes" or pops up for a split second before automatically switching to the Fingerprint recognition prompt. Even though it eventually gets to the fingerprint screen, seeing that PIN box jump out every single time makes the whole process feel laggy and induces a bit of "wait-time anxiety."

On iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, the biometric prompt is instantaneous and seamless. There’s no UI jumping or flickering. Even on Windows, other apps seem to trigger the fingerprint scanner directly without this weird visual glitch.

It’s not a major bug, but that split-second delay and the flickering window make me feel impatient every time I try to log in. It really disrupts the flow compared to the smooth experience on Apple devices.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to make the fingerprint prompt appear directly? Or is this something the devs need to optimize?

I have notice that autofill no longer work with the site https://investor.vanguard.com/corporate-portal/. Enpass fills in the user name but not the password.

I am currently using windows 10, Firefox browser, Enpass Pro 6.84.1166.0

• Automatic Compromised Password Check: Compromise Password checker can now run automatically whenever a new item is added, or an existing item is updated to ensure there is no breached data on your vaults. Just head over to Advanced Settings and enable the check box.
• Frequently Used Suggestions: Enpass now gives suggestions of the most-used Usernames, email, and Phone numbers stored in the selected vault while creating a new item. 
• Fill from password history: Users will now be able to fill in passwords from their password history on the Edit page. 
• Reveal password: You can now reveal an item's password by pressing Alt on your keyboard.
• CapsLock Indicator: Notifies users when CapsLock is active while entering Master Password. 
• Merge Backup vault to any Existing vault: Users can now merge any backup vault data into an existing vault. Select Import > Enpass > Backup file> Select the backup file from your machine> Select the Vault to Merge > Enter password of the backup vault.
• Show More: We have returned the 'Show More' button to the Enpass assistant, hoping all your concerns with the 'Match URL hostname' functionality are now resolved.
• Custom period for TOTP: Enpass now support generating one-time code with custom period. By default, the period will be 30 seconds unless specified by the TOTP URI.
• Un-synced changes Alert!: Enpass now shows a warning message when attempting to remove a vault that has un-synced changes. 

FIXES:

• Fixed an issue where Enpass marked TOTP as invalid if the TOTP had '\n' in the secret key 
• Fixed an issue where the passwords were getting truncated/cutoff/incomplete on printing the item if the escaped characters ('<' and '=')

We are working on introducing updates on browser extensions to make your autofill experience really amazing with Enpass. To support those upcoming extensions, we have made some changes in the desktop apps, and this beta is all about running a final compatibility check between this new desktop build and existing extensions.

What to test:

1. Keep using your existing browser extensions with this new build and they should work exactly as they used to.
2. We have also changed the code-signing certificate for executables because the current one is expiring this month. So if you get a warning message from antivirus or a Windows smart screen warning, it is due to the new code-signing certificate. Please allow the executable to run, and you should be good to go!

Fixes:

1. Fixed an issue where a few of you were getting a message —This version of Enpass is out of date— on launching the Enpass app.
2. Fixed an issue where some of the items were not imported from 1Password. The import process was breaking on importing items with large notes in items. 
3. Fixed an issue where Enpass was updating the password of another item with the same username.

·    One of the most requested features— "Full-time Windows Hello support" is here. Now you need not enter the master password after the system/app restart.

·    Fixed an issue where some of OneDrive users were getting a password-mismatch error as "Password of data on OneDrive is required." Now fixed. Affected users first need to delete data from OneDrive (option to delete data is present while disconnecting the sync from the cloud).

·    Few of our users reported an error code 1208400 while syncing with OneDrive.

·    The issue where the order of the fields is getting shuffled for a custom template on syncing with other devices.

·    An issue where custom icons display as black.

·    Fixed an issue where the deleted items were visible under associated tags.

·    Squashed a bug with CSV importer.

·    Instead of the word TOTP, Enpass now uses the terminology One-time passwords.

·    The issue with URL marked as private did not mask.

·    Some of the keyboard shortcuts were not working consistently in Enpass assistant.

·    The cloud icon didn't display on the vault list.

I was using Enpass UWP for Windows 10 with full-time Windows Hello enabled, because my computer fulfills all necessary requirements (TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot). So Enpass UWP successfully detected that the machine is secure enough to store the keys in hardware/TPM and use Windows Hello directly on the first launch even after a computer restart or when Enpass UWP was completely closed.

Now with Enpass 6, it is only using the fallback solution of asking for the master password the first time after restart, and using Windows Hello only for subsequent unlocks. I think Enpass 6 is great and a big improvement in many things, but in this particular aspect it feels like kind of a stepback.

So my question is: Will full-time Windows Hello be supported in Enpass 6 again like it was in Enpass UWP for computers which fulfill the necessary requirements for hardware/TPM-based security?

If Enpass 6 is running minimized in the background / tray icon and the vault is locked, the Windows Platform Timer resolution is increased from the default 15.6ms to 1ms by Enpass process, which causes significantly lower CPU C state usage and thus less battery life.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Let Enpass 6 start automatically with Windows, or start it and minimized it to the system tray, but do not unlock the vault yet

2. Run "powercfg /energy" within Windows PowerShell and let Microsoft power diagnostics generate an energy report

3. The report will show a warning, that Enpass.exe is requesting a non-standard Windows Platform Timer resolution that causes lower battery life (see attached screenshot). You can also confirm with tools like "ThrottleStop" that there is significantly less CPU package C state usage / power saving when Enpass is waiting for the vault to be unlocked. This almost doubles idle power draw of my CPU.

4. Unlock the Enpass vault by typing your password into Enpass window

5. Run "powercfg /energy" again

6. You will notice that when vault is unlocked, there is no Windows Platform Timer warning anymore and C state usage increases immediately.

It should not be necessary for Enpass to increase Windows Platform Timer resolution when just running IDLE in the background with the vault still locked! The fact that the Platform Timer resolution goes back to its default value as soon as Enpass vault is unlocked, is a clear indication for that behavior to be a bug!

for some sites, since autofill is impossible I would like to disable the automatic connection feature. For some entries I found a checkbox to that purpose but for some others, there is no such checkbox. How should I do to disable automatic connections for specified entries ?

I created a second vault on one of my computer where I now have two vaults; one primary and one extra. From another computer, how do I connect to this second vault? I can find no option in Enpass for this. Installations are paid premium versions.

IMPORTANT NOTES FROM DEVELOPER

• Must save a BACKUP: Before installing this beta, it is highly recommended to take a backup of your data manually from any Enpass version you are using. You can take a backup via Enpass > File > Backup.
• Installation NOTES: Unlike the previous beta versions of Enpass 6 so far, this one will come over and replace your current Enpass 5 app, and your data will be upgraded to support the new architecture of v6. And if you're having the previous beta version of Enpass 6, it will also get automatically uninstalled, so please take the backup of that one as well. Once the database is upgraded to v6, it can't be downgraded or restored into previous Enpass versions.
• Sync incompatibility: Sync in Enpass v6 works entirely in new, efficient way and syncs to the different location (generally in destined App folders on cloud service providers) than the previous versions released so far. It will neither synchronize with and nor restore data of any previous versions (Enpass 5 and previous Enpass 6 beta). So if you want to start testing of this beta as a clean install on some other device on which you are not having Enpass 5 (i.e., not over your existing Enpass 5 app), the only way is to restore data from the backup file.
• Browser extension incompatibility: The current Enpass 5 browser extensions are not compatible with the v6. You can download and install the latest extensions from here. Edge Browser Extension: Extension for Edge Browser compatible with this update is available to you from Windows Store as a PackageFlight subscriber.
• Settings restoration: All your Enpass 5 settings will get reset, and you have to Re-configure them individually. 

What's New

• Multiple vaults: This is one of the most demanded features in Enpass that lets you have separate vaults for better segregation of your data. You can create multiple vaults for personal and work data and share with your family or team members by syncing through a common cloud account. However, each of your vaults requires a different cloud account to sync with.
  • To create a new vault, go to app Settings > Vaults > Tap the ‘+‘ icon, and follow the instructions to create your new vault.
• Custom categories and templates: The desktop version of Enpass 6 now allows you to create your own custom Categories and Templates. This way you can manage your data the way you like.
• Unlock with Windows Hello: You can now unlock Enpass with the Windows Hello. Master password will be required at every fresh start of the app.
• Dark theme: Enpass comes with the dark theme support for Windows. You need to restart the app after switching the theme from Enpass Settings for the changes to take effect.
• Sync through iCloud: Now the support for iCloud sync is not limited to Apple devices only, you can use it on other platforms as well.
• Favicons: Enpass 6 can automatically download and set the icon associated with the particular website or URL saved in an item. You can enable it from the Enpass Settings > Customize > Enable Use Favicon.
• Custom icons: We've also introduced a much-requested feature; Custom icons, which allows you to set any image as an icon for any item in Enpass.
• Secure sharing: This version brings secured sharing where you can share an item encrypted with a Pre-Shared Key (PSK). You can create PSK from the Advanced Settings of Enpass after which an additional option to Encrypt with PSK will appear while sharing the item. You need to share the PSK with the intended recipient which he needs to enter while importing the item.
• Keyfile support: You can now additionally use a Keyfile along with the master password to log into Enpass. Only the desktop versions allow you to generate keyfile while setting up the master password.
• Trash: Trash is here. From now onwards, every item you delete will go in the Trash first from where you can recover or permanently delete it.
• Archive: You can archive the items which are no longer in use, but you don't want to delete them as well. The archived item won't appear in any search results.
• Sorting options: Added options to sort the list of items by Created Time, Modified Time, Recently Used and Frequently Used.
• Multi-line fields: Added a new field-type as multi-line field which allows you to save information in more than one line. You can make any field a multi-line field by changing its field type from the item edit page.
• Identity: We've introduced a new default category Identity to let you fill those long, tedious identity forms with a single click.
• Added localization support for Afrikaans, Malay, Croatian, Hungarian, Indonesian, Romanian, Slovak and Swedish.

Improvements

• Cloud synchronization: The new Enpass 6 now syncs the Enpass data into the designated App folder on the cloud, unlike it used to do in the root folder for OneDrive, and Google Drive. Along with this, the app now requires minimal permissions and will give relief to our folks who raised concerns regarding the list of permissions the Enpass was asking while configuring the sync, especially in case of OneDrive. Also, as Enpass 6 is based on a new architecture, it will not sync and restore data from previous Enpass 5 and Enpass 6 beta versions.
• Browser extensions: The new browser extension is now called Enpass Assistant with improved security, auto-filling, and auto-capturing. While setting initial connection, you would need to pair the browser first. It also allows you to autofill in pages with more than two fields.
• Improved Password generator and strength estimation: We have improved the password generator with the new user interface, option for excluding the symbols and the better strength estimation using zxcvbn. So there might be chances that the password shown as strong in Enpass v5 will be displayed as Weak in Enpass 6.
• Tags: The erstwhile Folder feature is now known as Tags. All your existing Folders and sub-folders will be replaced by the Tags and sub-tags respectively. 
• Separate section for items with TOTP or Attachments: Many of you folks requested that items with TOTP or attachments should be grouped and displayed together, and here you'll see the separate sections for both TOTP and Attachments in the Sidebar.
• Eight digits TOTP support: Previously the app was restricted to generate only six digits TOTPs making it difficult for some folks who were using eight-digit TOTPs. Now this limitation has been removed, and you can freely add TOTP to quickly login into accounts.
• Checking Pwned passwords for the complete database: A significant improvement in checking the pwned passwords! Now instead of checking a single password for pwnage, you can check all passwords saved in your database.
• Better with importing data from other password managers.
• A lot of other minor improvements.

Fixes over Previous Enpass 6 Beta

• There was an issue raised by some of you guys where If a user was adding an attachment containing any language specific characters ( å, ä, ö, etc.), then the app was crashing while saving the item. Well now, Fixed.
• A bug where WebDAV sync wasn't configuring over the Seafile server, now fixed.
• Fixed an issue where pressing the ESC key wasn't clearing the search field.
• Fixed an issue where copying or moving an item from one vault to another, lost all its assigned tags.

We are continually working to boost the quality of Enpass before the official release and devoting a lot of time in improvements and bug fixes. And we are eagerly waiting for your feedback on our forums.

It would be appreciated with a dark interface instead of a black theme. Personally i prefer the regular UI rather than the black theme and have thus disabled it.

The dark color to the left in the UI is more pleasing than pitch black. The color to the left is R=18, G=18, B=20.

How can I get the latest beta from Store?

On the traditional Windows Desktop version I have the 6.x BETA.

The old Enpass 5 from the Store used to have a Bridged App in order to work with Firefox, but that thing doesn't work with Enpass 6.

Yes, if i search in that dialog i can find any of the 71 items, but why pick out items randomly if i sort by Title in this dialog?

This is frustrating if you have just updated a password, and then wish to use that password (i.e. select copy), as the refresh forces you to have to find the entry you've just edited.

(This might be related to the client performing a sync).
