Latest update seems to have fixed this issue! There is no pop-up bubble anymore, but at least filling with notification works as it should. Great guys, thank you!

Sorry, I would have explained it - but I have the german version. OK, I try it: Only if you have activated the feature "keyfile" (which is also a bit hidden on the bottom of preferences where you change the Master-password), you'll get a new entry in the vault menu under preferences (3 points - see screenshot) - behind these 3 points you'll get the barcode. I think it's difficult to find - I searched through the web and found nothing. Would be better, to find it in the tools-menu - or under vault-info, where the information is, if you have chosen the keyfile (f.e.). Sorry for my bad english - I hope you understand ;-)

Hi @databoy2k Thank you for taking the time out to write and express your grievances. I agree with you that the Beta releases got delayed and it’s quite unfortunate that we didn’t roll out a single one in the past month. Your feedback has been duly acknowledged, and we will assess it to deduct measures we can adopt to prevent issues of this nature in subsequent times. Also, I will keep you updated with the development progress. Please accept our sincere apology for the unpleasant experience we have caused you. We aspire to keep our most valued customers, and we hope to serve you better in the future. Thank you for your support!

Hey @alba85, I would like to share that the feature of the Favicon has already been implemented and will be available with the version 6.1. Cheers!

Steam implements TOTP with a different alphabet. The basic algorithm seems to be the same as usual TOTP, but the representation of the token is different. An example implementation can be found here: https://gist.github.com/mooop12/1af7f0ffc8f28ea76f27abcba1e6da01 It would be cool if Enpass added support for these token types (maybe even as part of Enpass 6? :-) ) To not clutter the UI, maybe you could take the road of Bitwarden which uses a URL scheme to support different token types (no schema = default TOTP token, special token however could be steam://xyz123abc456).

The problem has been solved by the Firefox developers. The extension can be installed now without any problem.

Hey guys, this has nothing to do with Enpass. Mozilla missed updating important certificates, which causes the issues you experience. To solve the problem you have two options: Wait for Mozilla to resolve the problem with e.g. a rollout of a new Firefox version Apply the studies mentioned in this post i.e. apply Firefox Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Allow Firefox to install and run studies. You can disable studies again once you restarted your browser. After (2) Enpass addon should work again. Duplicate of

Hi Enpassians! We know our Portable users have been waiting to get the v6 update quite a long time as they are facing compatibility issues with the data on v5 of Portable Apps and v6 of the Stable apps. I am sorry that took it more time than expected as we were busy in improving and stabilizing the v6, but it's finally here! The first beta of Enpass v6 for the Portable apps has been out, and you can get it from the download links given later in the post. The complete changelog for this beta is: What’s New Multiple Vaults: We are very excited to have the support of more than one vault in Enpass to collaborate with our family and team members, keeping our personal data separate in Primary vault. It was one of the most demanded features from you guys. You can share a vault with others by syncing through a common cloud account where each vault need a distinct cloud account to sync. Just go ahead, and give it a try! Secure Sharing: Every single item that you want to share with others can now be encrypted with a passphrase (call it Pre-Shared Key). You can create PSKs from the Advanced Settings of Enpass after which an additional option to Encrypt with PSK will appear while sharing the item. You need to share the PSK prior with the intended recipient to enable them to import in their Enpass. Please use a different medium to share the PSK than you’ll use to share the item. -“Keys are always kept hidden from the locks” ;-). Enpass Assistant: The minified Enpass is now called Enpass Assistant (Formerly Helper). It offers excellent autofilling experience with browser extensions, and you can invoke it from a Keyboard shortcut or System Menu bar. Always run Enpass Assistant in docked mode: From now onwards, you can stick the Enpass Assistant on the screen, and it won’t disappear when you click outside it. You can enable it from Enpass General settings under the Behavior section. Also, once the Enpass Assistant is opened, you can use the Keyboard shortcut Shift+Ctrl+ D to stick it on the screen. Keyfile Support: You want to have a super-duper strong master password, huh! Yeah, but memory has a limit to memorize it. No worries, you can use Enpass 6 to let you use Enpass-Keyfile in addition to your master password as a second factor required to unlock the Enpass on every platform. Custom Icons: Let’s you set any image as an icon for an item. Trash & Archive: You know what to do with Trash. Archive those unwanted items which should be skipped while Searching. Identities: Create identities with personal information for auto-filling long, tedious sign-up forms with a single click. Multi-Line Field: It’s a new field type where you can save data in multiple-lines. History of Every Field: Like password fields, you can now see the history of changes in every kind of fields in an item except Notes. Dark theme: Added support for dark mode on macOS Mojave and Linux. A separate section under the ‘Groups’ tab to have a quick look at all TOTPs & Attachments. Added localization support for Afrikaans, Malay, Croatian, Hungarian, Indonesian, Romanian, Slovak and Swedish. Improvements Improved Security: The real stuff!! Enpass 6 comes with far better protection for your data. Check out more about Security on our website. Browser Extensions: The improved browser extensions now offer better auto-filling, auto-capturing, and security. Enpass extension can now autofill in pages with more than two fields. Also, while setting up the first connection with a browser, you would need to pair that first. Tags: Folders in previous Enpass were more or liked Tags, and so we have renamed them to Tags. And yes, they are nested too. Checking Pwned Passwords for Complete Database: Say goodbye to the hassle of checking every single password for pwnage, now you can review the passwords in your entire database with a single click. Improved Password generator and more brutal strength estimator. Again, Security Matters the most! Password Expiry: From now onwards you can set an expiry date to any password field and check for them from the ‘Audit’ tab when they are going to expire. Eight digits TOTP support. Unlike the older version, Password generator has no limitation of five passwords in history. Known Issues: Remember Location: After every fresh start, the app will ask you to select the data location even if you have previously clicked 'Remember Location.' iCloud Synchronization: The Portable versions are missing the iCloud option for the synchronization. Translations: Some strings might be not be localized in the supported languages. For Linux users running 16.04: The app icon isn't displayed in the launcher. For macOS users: Missing the Categories list, and item's icon: After the initial launch of Enpass Portable, the app may not show the Categories List or item's icon. Workaround: Copy the extracted enpassportable and paste it in a new folder or location. Now open the app and it will show the list and icons as expected. Using Safari 12 or later versions: Unfortunately, the Enpass extension for Safari will not work with the Portable versions. The reason is that the Safari App Extension is bound with the app installation. But for Portable versions, there is no such app installation. Workaround: Use any other supported browsers. Download Links Before installing the Beta version, please read the Enpass Portable User Guide. For Linux (.tar.gz): Enpass Portable Beta v6.0.7 For Windows and macOS (.zip): Enpass Portable Beta v6.0.7 Get your hands on this beta version and share your valuable feedback. If there are other improvements you’d like to see, please leave a comment below. Cheers!

I was looking for a solution that meets the following requirements: Local Vault Windows and iOS App Synchronization over LAN Nice GUI No subscription (I am willing to pay for a good program) Currently there are not so many Password Managers that meet all these requirements! Enpass meets all these requirements and I do not have any serious problems right now. Before I write down all my passwords on paper, I trust Enpass (It's that simple ) Sure, the best would be an open source solution with a great GUI that is available for all devices...

I recently opened a support ticket with the following content: "When I restart the browser (Chrome, Vivaldi, Edge) and send a "auto fill requests", I always have to wait about 1 minute before the Assistant apears. The follow up "auto fill requests" will be answered spontaneously until I restart the browser again. I have already uninstalled all extensions and the main program, cleand all settings (AppData>Local, AppData>Roaming and the Registry) and then reinstalled everything. No success. The deactivation of the firewall and the virus scanner (ESET Endpoint Antivirus) did not succeed either. Does anyone have a good idea?" I (respectively ESET Support) was able to fix the problem. It is not enough to disable the virus scanner. For whatever reason, you must explicitly exclude the enpass.exe process from the realtime scan. Now it works perfectly! I hope I can help someone else with this information.

Hello @Vikram Dabas, i have some enhancement for this suggestion: after the Vault was exported (packed to ZIP) open the folder where the ZIP file is stored, so I can drag it in an new email add an option to protect the ZIP with the password that is used for the vault (this option is checked by default, but users can un-check it) Best regards OLLI

Hello, For logins Windows The csv file must respect the following structure (10 data fields): "Title","Username","Email","Password","Website","TOTP Secret Key","Custom Field 1","*Custom Field 2","Note","Tags" If some data does not exist, it is necessary nevertheless that the field is present by indicating a double quotation mark. For example: "Title","Username","Email","Password","Website","TOTP Secret Key","Custom Field 1","*Custom Field 2","Note","Tags" "Enpass", "Ekalb","","MyPaswword","https://discussion.enpass.io/index.php?/login/","","","","",""

An update there. I've installed Mozilla Thunderbird, to test the issue. Thunderbird does not show these attachments. Web-based email clients do not show them either. So I've done some more testing. The issue is with MS Outlook and Enpass Password Manager UWP. I've uninstalled Enpass password manager and the attachments had shown up as ordinary txt files, containing the plain text of html message (exact copy without formatting). Then I've installed Enpass win32 app, the issue doesn't occur. MS Outlook shows the attachments as txt files. I think now, that there's a problem with file associations, that Enpass UWP or Outlook makes for text files/attachments. EDIT: I've shouldn't jump to the conclusion so fast. First I've restarted my computer, the attachments were shown as text files but after a while those files name extensions changes form txt to enpasscard. So it seems is not associated with Enpass app, but it's Windows issue. Cheers, Rafał

Here is the information you requested ; Windows 10 Home version 1809 Enpass version 606 (322) Country is the Netherlands, language is english, and sometimes Dutch. There are no errors. I do not see something of "Premium version " in the lines "About" Enpass. I can provide you my emailadres from my microsoft account and the payment bill, if needed i will send them to you

so it's the 2nd program i use suffering from backward incompatibility of the recent Qt version with mac os x 10.11.6. as i'm not the only one blocked from updating my mac to 10.12+ by older, but still great performing specific hardware aka mac pro (cheesegrater). this is important especially for professional mac pro users on pre black trashcan machines. it would be a great opportunity to show loyalty to such customers by preserving backward compatibility of older enpass versions based on older qt versions to keep them aboard of the enpass ecosystem.

Hello, I copied some text from the notes of a password entry in Enpass and wanted to paste into the notes of an other password entry. But pressing <Ctrl>+<V> did not insert the text. Enpass cleared the clipboard before I was able to paste the text (I have set the timer to 15 seconds). Same problem when I copy the text from the notes of an password entry and want to paste it in other applications (like the web browser). In my opinion the clipboard should be only deleted when the user pressed the "Copy" button behind a field. Only here the timer should start. This way I can copy some text from the notes and this information is not deleted after 15 seconds. Best regards OLLI

Hi @JohnR. Thanks for your suggestion. I would like to share that we have already implemented a feature to view Subset of password and will be available in the next update v6.1. Meanwhile, if you want to view the letter of the password field instance please follow these steps: For Desktop --> Click on item --> Right click on the password field --> Tap on option View Large. For mobile --> Click on the item --> Long press on the password field. Hope this helps!

One other option, if you're running an ESR version of Firefox, is to go to about:config and toggle the preference " xpinstall.signatures.required " to false.

Hm, I was posting this yesterday from home, being connected to my work computer via VPN and Windows Remote Desktop. Today I came to work and was able to see and activate this option in Settings. Probably the Windows Hello functionality is disabled in remote desktop connection and the application shows this option based on system capabilities... Long story short, it seems that all is working properly .

Copying a password or username or any other field is one of the most frequent actions, I am doing in enpass. Currently: Right now you have to press this little icon on the right side of the field panel in order to copy or do a right click on it selecting copy or press the copy user/password shortcut with 3 keys. Suggestion: It would be great to just left click on the whole field area to copy the information and also increase the size of the copy icon, if needed anymore anyway. The show mode could be enhanced as well. Right now you have to click the small icon at the end. One problem is, that is is so small, another problem is, that I might want to show this information just for a blink second (e.g. for validation). Suggestion: Allow the secret information (all of it) to be shown, while holding a special key, when you are not in edit mode though. Other apps use the alt-key for this feature.

Hello @Vikram Dabas, In KeePass the timer (that indicates that the clipboard is deleted) starts only when: I double-click a username or a password (doing this it is copied to the clipboard click in the table on a username or a password and press <Ctrl>+<C> The timer is not started when I mark any text in the details pane (that is shown at the bottom) and press <Ctrl>+<C>. So for Enpass I suggest that you: start the timer only when the "Copy" button (behind each field) is clicked start the timer only when I mark some text with the mouse and press <Ctrl>+<C> delete the content of the clipboard only, when the content of the clipboard is still the text that I have copied from Enpass. So when I copy a password from Enpass, paste it in a web form and then copy some text from the website (or from any other application) then this information should remain in the clipboard forever (not be deleted from Enpass). Best regards OLLI

Hello, I am using Enpass with the German UI. When I edit an entry and click on the "Password" label, then I can enter a expiry date. Here I see in German: "Verfällt nach [Edit Field] Tage". The correct grammar would be: "Verfällt nach [Edit Field] Tagen" (so you just need to add the "n" at the end of this String). Best regards OLLI

Hello, At work our administrators have restricted the access to all cloud storage sites (like OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, and many others). So I can no longer sync my password vault at work (so Enpass is unusable for me now). So please offer a feature in Enpass that exports (packs) the password vault to a ZIP file. Then I can send this ZIP file via email to work (also USB-devices are blocked). At work I can import the password vault in Enpass (so you also should offer an import-feature). You should also offer the same feature for the settings. So I can export the settings from my PC and import them at work and also at my Surface Go (so I have the same settings at 3 computers without having to manually adjust them on every device separate). Best regards OLLI

At this point Enpass works on "most" distributions, but not on all of them. Also, there is the need to add a repository and then install the application. My request is to make Enpass available as a AppImage, snap or flatpak. This way the support for Linux can be improved! I would suggest to use AppImage or Flatpak, since snap = canonical controlled.

I would like to see a switch that allows me to disable automatic sync. Manual synchronization (Sync Now) should not be affected. This is primarily a workaround for the missing WiFi sync, but I think it can also be useful in general. I sync my devices via WebDAV on my NAS. Before I used enpass, my NAS was always in sleep mode, but now the discs are almost always active. I rarely create or change logins, and I know exactly when I have to synchronize the data. Currently I setup WebDAV on all devices (PC, iPad, iPhone), synchronize them and disconnect again... But that can not be a permanent solution.

I have successfully imported the complete vault from Lastpass several times. The process that seems to work best for me is to do the following: Export Vault from Lastpass Select all text and save as plaintext file with ".csv" extension Open file in Excel (or some other spreadsheet program, Google Docs, LibreOffice, etc.) Save file as CSV file from inside the spreadsheet software Import resulting file into Enpass using the Lastpass import type Every time I have done this I got a complete import of all the data.

I'll just bring this up again... Enpass sadly lost it's ability for full-time Windows Hello support with v6. I would really like you bringing this back asap for devices with TPM since it was very convenient. I hope there is no technical limitation because it's now a bridged Win32 app.
  35. 1 point
I'd love to see to which WebDAV location exactly Enpass is syncing. Recently I had the problem that I typed in a subfolder of my usual sync folder after reinstalling and I had no idea what was happening. I could also not check where Enpass is syncing. A related feature request is the ability to configure exactly where Enpass is storing its files via WebDAV. I have to use Windows and Linux in parallel (and also Android) and sometimes the app uses the Enpass subfolder, sometimes it uses Enpass6-Beta subfolder rendering me now with two diverging branches of my credentials. I don't even know which client is syncing in which place. Also I don't know how to remedy this situation and join both files back to one vault and prevent this from happening in the future.

Hello @Vikram Dabas, I also suggested to sync the settings to OneDrive: Best regards OLLI

Hi All, Microsoft recently introduced the developer preview of its new Microsoft Edge browser. This edition does not support the old Microsoft Edge extensions. The Enpass extension for the new browser would need to be installed from the Chrome Web Store but requires some fixing before it works. We are working closely with the Edge team at Microsoft, and hopefully, the upcoming Enpass v6.1 would bring support for the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge. Meanwhile, you can make the Enpass Chrome extension to work with the app by disabling the "Authorized browser with verified code signature only" option from Enpass Browser settings.

I would love to see this feature as well!

+1 from me as well. Also Webdav sync config on current version (6.0.6) is sort of black hole. Once you hit the save button there is no way to update or even see the settings. Workaround is to disconnect and start over. From UX perspective I would like to see Webdav (or any other sync option) config stored side by side with other entries in the vault.
  42. 1 point
I fully support this request. Having two or more independent vaults is a major point for Enpass (in theory). So far I can use any other PW-Manager (Reasons explained by AMK already)
  43. 1 point
Atm, access to multiple vaults works with the master password of the first vault. This prevents different users with different vaults can use enpass on one PC. In addition I think it's a security issue, because the master password of other vaults are saved in Enpass / in the first vault. A master password should never be saved anywhere! So it would be great, if access to a vault should only be possible with each vault's master password. Not with the master password of another vault. For me it's not importent opening multiple vaults at the same time. I only want to manage/using them separatly with one Enpass installation or within the web browser.
  44. 1 point
I think it should be not a problem if every user has its own user profile (although I didn't test it). Just create the main Enpass vault and afterwards the other 2 vaults. Create a separate folder for each vault. Then you'll just connect the Enpass app to the already existing vault 2 and 3 from the appropriate user account. That should be not a problem until you plan to sync the vaults to any mobile devices via cloud storage. For now it works only with WebDAV.

Now that Enpass 6 is what it is, what alternatives are you considering? My biggest requirement would be that the implementation is totally open-source, to prevent a vendor lock-in.

Would love to see a possibility to access Enpass from CLI, again since the mentioned project doesn't work anymore.

Would like to see native cli access for Enpass on Linux and macOS. Opening an application, searching for content and copy it takes too much time instead of: (ep alias enpass): $> ep get $foo
