Sorry, I would have explained it - but I have the german version. OK, I try it: Only if you have activated the feature "keyfile" (which is also a bit hidden on the bottom of preferences where you change the Master-password), you'll get a new entry in the vault menu under preferences (3 points - see screenshot) - behind these 3 points you'll get the barcode. I think it's difficult to find - I searched through the web and found nothing. Would be better, to find it in the tools-menu - or under vault-info, where the information is, if you have chosen the keyfile (f.e.). Sorry for my bad english - I hope you understand ;-)

Hi @databoy2k Thank you for taking the time out to write and express your grievances. I agree with you that the Beta releases got delayed and it’s quite unfortunate that we didn’t roll out a single one in the past month. Your feedback has been duly acknowledged, and we will assess it to deduct measures we can adopt to prevent issues of this nature in subsequent times. Also, I will keep you updated with the development progress. Please accept our sincere apology for the unpleasant experience we have caused you. We aspire to keep our most valued customers, and we hope to serve you better in the future. Thank you for your support!

Steam implements TOTP with a different alphabet. The basic algorithm seems to be the same as usual TOTP, but the representation of the token is different. An example implementation can be found here: https://gist.github.com/mooop12/1af7f0ffc8f28ea76f27abcba1e6da01 It would be cool if Enpass added support for these token types (maybe even as part of Enpass 6? :-) ) To not clutter the UI, maybe you could take the road of Bitwarden which uses a URL scheme to support different token types (no schema = default TOTP token, special token however could be steam://xyz123abc456).

The problem has been solved by the Firefox developers. The extension can be installed now without any problem.

Hey guys, this has nothing to do with Enpass. Mozilla missed updating important certificates, which causes the issues you experience. To solve the problem you have two options: Wait for Mozilla to resolve the problem with e.g. a rollout of a new Firefox version Apply the studies mentioned in this post i.e. apply Firefox Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Allow Firefox to install and run studies. You can disable studies again once you restarted your browser. After (2) Enpass addon should work again. Duplicate of

Hi Enpassians! We know our Portable users have been waiting to get the v6 update quite a long time as they are facing compatibility issues with the data on v5 of Portable Apps and v6 of the Stable apps. I am sorry that took it more time than expected as we were busy in improving and stabilizing the v6, but it's finally here! The first beta of Enpass v6 for the Portable apps has been out, and you can get it from the download links given later in the post. The complete changelog for this beta is: What’s New Multiple Vaults: We are very excited to have the support of more than one vault in Enpass to collaborate with our family and team members, keeping our personal data separate in Primary vault. It was one of the most demanded features from you guys. You can share a vault with others by syncing through a common cloud account where each vault need a distinct cloud account to sync. Just go ahead, and give it a try! Secure Sharing: Every single item that you want to share with others can now be encrypted with a passphrase (call it Pre-Shared Key). You can create PSKs from the Advanced Settings of Enpass after which an additional option to Encrypt with PSK will appear while sharing the item. You need to share the PSK prior with the intended recipient to enable them to import in their Enpass. Please use a different medium to share the PSK than you’ll use to share the item. -“Keys are always kept hidden from the locks” ;-). Enpass Assistant: The minified Enpass is now called Enpass Assistant (Formerly Helper). It offers excellent autofilling experience with browser extensions, and you can invoke it from a Keyboard shortcut or System Menu bar. Always run Enpass Assistant in docked mode: From now onwards, you can stick the Enpass Assistant on the screen, and it won’t disappear when you click outside it. You can enable it from Enpass General settings under the Behavior section. Also, once the Enpass Assistant is opened, you can use the Keyboard shortcut Shift+Ctrl+ D to stick it on the screen. Keyfile Support: You want to have a super-duper strong master password, huh! Yeah, but memory has a limit to memorize it. No worries, you can use Enpass 6 to let you use Enpass-Keyfile in addition to your master password as a second factor required to unlock the Enpass on every platform. Custom Icons: Let’s you set any image as an icon for an item. Trash & Archive: You know what to do with Trash. Archive those unwanted items which should be skipped while Searching. Identities: Create identities with personal information for auto-filling long, tedious sign-up forms with a single click. Multi-Line Field: It’s a new field type where you can save data in multiple-lines. History of Every Field: Like password fields, you can now see the history of changes in every kind of fields in an item except Notes. Dark theme: Added support for dark mode on macOS Mojave and Linux. A separate section under the ‘Groups’ tab to have a quick look at all TOTPs & Attachments. Added localization support for Afrikaans, Malay, Croatian, Hungarian, Indonesian, Romanian, Slovak and Swedish. Improvements Improved Security: The real stuff!! Enpass 6 comes with far better protection for your data. Check out more about Security on our website. Browser Extensions: The improved browser extensions now offer better auto-filling, auto-capturing, and security. Enpass extension can now autofill in pages with more than two fields. Also, while setting up the first connection with a browser, you would need to pair that first. Tags: Folders in previous Enpass were more or liked Tags, and so we have renamed them to Tags. And yes, they are nested too. Checking Pwned Passwords for Complete Database: Say goodbye to the hassle of checking every single password for pwnage, now you can review the passwords in your entire database with a single click. Improved Password generator and more brutal strength estimator. Again, Security Matters the most! Password Expiry: From now onwards you can set an expiry date to any password field and check for them from the ‘Audit’ tab when they are going to expire. Eight digits TOTP support. Unlike the older version, Password generator has no limitation of five passwords in history. Known Issues: Remember Location: After every fresh start, the app will ask you to select the data location even if you have previously clicked 'Remember Location.' iCloud Synchronization: The Portable versions are missing the iCloud option for the synchronization. Translations: Some strings might be not be localized in the supported languages. For Linux users running 16.04: The app icon isn't displayed in the launcher. For macOS users: Missing the Categories list, and item's icon: After the initial launch of Enpass Portable, the app may not show the Categories List or item's icon. Workaround: Copy the extracted enpassportable and paste it in a new folder or location. Now open the app and it will show the list and icons as expected. Using Safari 12 or later versions: Unfortunately, the Enpass extension for Safari will not work with the Portable versions. The reason is that the Safari App Extension is bound with the app installation. But for Portable versions, there is no such app installation. Workaround: Use any other supported browsers. Download Links Before installing the Beta version, please read the Enpass Portable User Guide. For Linux (.tar.gz): Enpass Portable Beta v6.0.7 For Windows and macOS (.zip): Enpass Portable Beta v6.0.7 Get your hands on this beta version and share your valuable feedback. If there are other improvements you’d like to see, please leave a comment below. Cheers!

I was looking for a solution that meets the following requirements: Local Vault Windows and iOS App Synchronization over LAN Nice GUI No subscription (I am willing to pay for a good program) Currently there are not so many Password Managers that meet all these requirements! Enpass meets all these requirements and I do not have any serious problems right now. Before I write down all my passwords on paper, I trust Enpass (It's that simple ) Sure, the best would be an open source solution with a great GUI that is available for all devices...

I recently opened a support ticket with the following content: "When I restart the browser (Chrome, Vivaldi, Edge) and send a "auto fill requests", I always have to wait about 1 minute before the Assistant apears. The follow up "auto fill requests" will be answered spontaneously until I restart the browser again. I have already uninstalled all extensions and the main program, cleand all settings (AppData>Local, AppData>Roaming and the Registry) and then reinstalled everything. No success. The deactivation of the firewall and the virus scanner (ESET Endpoint Antivirus) did not succeed either. Does anyone have a good idea?" I (respectively ESET Support) was able to fix the problem. It is not enough to disable the virus scanner. For whatever reason, you must explicitly exclude the enpass.exe process from the realtime scan. Now it works perfectly! I hope I can help someone else with this information.

Hello @Vikram Dabas, i have some enhancement for this suggestion: after the Vault was exported (packed to ZIP) open the folder where the ZIP file is stored, so I can drag it in an new email add an option to protect the ZIP with the password that is used for the vault (this option is checked by default, but users can un-check it) Best regards OLLI

Releasing the beta in the coming weeks? Really? How can your release cadence be in weeks? Is this 2019? Come on guys, if you are marketing this tool as a productivity boost and security mechanism then this issue is to an extent unacceptable. Make a point release, it's likely a touch of css and nothing more.

@Vikram Dabas Here is a screenshot of the scan results of the Have I Been Pwned plugin in KeePass. I selected to see all results (default is to see only those results where the password was not changed after the breach) so you see more results. You see that the plugin gets the Password Change Date in KeePass (this is not stored, but he plugin compares the passwords in the history of each entry). It also displays the breach date and at the bottom you get information about the breach. Would be cool if Enpass also offers such a "Check breach by website" feature and also displays information (text) about the breach. Of cause in a larger font. OLLI

Hey guys, I'm using Ansible to deploy some services, and inside the config some variables are encrypted using Ansible Vault. Usually I need to copy-paste the password from Enpass to the terminal when Ansible asks for the password, but it also supports passing a path to an executable file that should print the password to stdout so that it can access for example the system keyring. Since you haven't published any official API documentation on how to talk to the desktop app, I've written a small script that mimics the browser extension's behavior and talks to the desktop app. With this implemented, whenever Ansible needs my password and my database is locked, the usual popup appears. Otherwise, it automatically fetches the password given some specific url. Now, since you have not published any API docs, is it fine to write apps that use the internal API? Do you have any objections as for making my small client public on github? Best

as an intermediate workaround i suggest to provide all recent versions of enpass for download to make all (mac) users able to choose the last working version for their particular OS version. especially all users who get their enpass app via apple app store usually haven't a saved download available.

Hello, I read an article that the standard WebAuthn is public now and all websites can offer WebAuthn for users. Users can log in without a password, they need just an other identification (like smart phone or hardware token). This is also relevant for Enpass. It would be cool if I can use Enpass to access websites that offer WebAuthn. Here are some useful links: Official website of WebAuthn: https://www.w3.org/TR/webauthn/ Website wehre you can test WebAuthn: https://webauthn.io/ So is such a feature planned? Best regards OLLI

Hi All, I can understand your concern regarding the safety and security of your data. Enpass does clear the clipboard after the set time interval. But some devices (Samsung in your case) have extra Clipboard services, when enabled, keep track of historical clipboard data. When Enpass clears the system Clipboard with an empty value, the clipboard manager keeps the previous password as history. Unfortunately, there are no APIs available at the moment which can clear a particular piece of information from such kind of clipboard managers. We can empty the complete clipboard history filling with empty values consecutively but it will nullify the very purpose of enabling such feature on your phone. If security is preferred over convenience of clipboard history, you should disable such feature. Otherwise you will need to manually clear the history in your clipboard manager every time you copy a sensitive information. Further, Enpass also has a specially designed Keyboard which let you fill the details in third-party apps, browser or even when you’re writing a mail or taking notes. This option will decrease the dependency on Clipboard as it can fill any detail anywhere you want to. You can check the more information here.

Hi @JohnR. Thanks for your suggestion. I would like to share that we have already implemented a feature to view Subset of password and will be available in the next update v6.1. Meanwhile, if you want to view the letter of the password field instance please follow these steps: For Desktop --> Click on item --> Right click on the password field --> Tap on option View Large. For mobile --> Click on the item --> Long press on the password field. Hope this helps!

Hi, I created a log in for the Hema web site to test the problem Maarten is having. Initially Enpass picked up the incorrect user name, after I manually changed the user name to the supplied email address and tried to log in, this time the user name would not fill, but the password did. If I had to guess I would say it is probably some coding on the web page that is causing the problem, but my knowledge of HTML is limited. Below is the section of the page, as best as I can tell, that deals with the user name. May be someone else can see why it does not seem to work correctly: form action="https://www.hema.nl/on/demandware.store/Sites-HemaNL-Site/nl_NL/Login-Show?scope=" method="post" id="dwfrm_login" data-errorsummary="#login-errors" novalidate="novalidate"> <input type="hidden" name="csrf_token" value="1FqO2YOvE1GGqVudbQ4zN828m4XhtG5pfKdVfiNAk9hgMKwyvBasd_WeJOJflonZ6N1mLkiz75UpeduLPe4RgpflKuaH8Uaxf4W19UKQXHbLun2m-umCVHcpfymWlZxt-oWJK4tM-LDkOZgINN0qum5ID7APYkN2b8cKNsEf9BBXeTKGOrY"/> <div class="form"> <div class="form-wrapper" data-formgroup-id="login"> <div class="form-group-wrapper " data-country-id="default"> <fieldset class="form-row "> <div class="inner inner-full required"> <label for="dwfrm_login_username_default"><span class="label">e-mailadres</span></label> <div class="field-wrapper "> <input class="input-text required " type="email" id="dwfrm_login_username_default" name="dwfrm_login_username" value="" regex="^[a-zA-Z0-9!#$%&'*+\/=?^_`{|}~-]+(\.?[a-zA-z0-9!#$%&'*+\/=?^_`{|}~-]+)*@\w+([\.-]?\w+)*(\.\w{2,61})+$" autocomplete='off' minlength='6' maxlength='255' placeholder='vul je e-mailadres in' /> </div>

Hm, I was posting this yesterday from home, being connected to my work computer via VPN and Windows Remote Desktop. Today I came to work and was able to see and activate this option in Settings. Probably the Windows Hello functionality is disabled in remote desktop connection and the application shows this option based on system capabilities... Long story short, it seems that all is working properly .

Adding on to @71titan post, Multiple Vault support attachment for many file extension Variety Cloud sync TOTP Support or even multiple TOTP Support Keyfile for additional Security Linux Support I tried different Password manager (more than 7 apps), NONE has this features above, and i think Enpass really should do more Marketing to grab the other password manager market and increase revenue. Enpass if you're reading this post, DO SOME MORE MARKETING EXPOSURE, lots of ppl are subscribing to useless service, while they can just pay for enpass PS: I'm just happy user and don't work for Enpass

Inspired by the below discussion, I decided to pack up Enpass 6 into a AppImage for those who don't want to have to do all the work to get it on an unsupported distro like Gentoo, Void, etc. Just download it, mark it executable, and run it. I have yet to FULLY test it, but so far it works for me. I expect that auto-start on boot/log-in won't work yet, though. If there's enough interest in this, and Sinew isn't against it ( or better yet, hires me to maintain it officially ), I'll do more thorough testing and get auto-start working. DISCLAIMER and DISCLOSURE: This is an UNOFFICIAL package of Enpass 6 that I made for my self, and am releasing in hopes that others will find it useful. If Sinew asks me to, I will cease distribution. I have NO AFFILIATION with Sinew other than as one of their customers. Sinew is well within their rights to decline to support you while you use my package. You will still be bound by the same agreements and contracts with Sinew as if you were to use their official packages. I offer NO WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE, explicit or implied, in regards to this package; USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Download Enpass-6.0.0.230-1-x86_64.AppImage

Vikram, I examined this issue and discovered it all had to do with incorrect mounting of the second HDD in my laptop. Therefore, Enpass couldn't find the location on this second HDD and kept asking for the data. Solution: Because Linux Mint 19.1('Tessa') runs on my laptop I opened the 'Disks' application and changed the default setting for the second HDD to: 'User Session Defaults' is disabled; 'Mount at Startup' is selected; 'Show in user interface' is deselected; 'Require...to mount' is deselected; Parameters used: nosuid, nodev, nofail, noauto; Filesystem type is set to 'ext4'. Thanks a lot for your help. Gregory

At this point Enpass works on "most" distributions, but not on all of them. Also, there is the need to add a repository and then install the application. My request is to make Enpass available as a AppImage, snap or flatpak. This way the support for Linux can be improved! I would suggest to use AppImage or Flatpak, since snap = canonical controlled.

I have successfully imported the complete vault from Lastpass several times. The process that seems to work best for me is to do the following: Export Vault from Lastpass Select all text and save as plaintext file with ".csv" extension Open file in Excel (or some other spreadsheet program, Google Docs, LibreOffice, etc.) Save file as CSV file from inside the spreadsheet software Import resulting file into Enpass using the Lastpass import type Every time I have done this I got a complete import of all the data.

Hi All, Microsoft recently introduced the developer preview of its new Microsoft Edge browser. This edition does not support the old Microsoft Edge extensions. The Enpass extension for the new browser would need to be installed from the Chrome Web Store but requires some fixing before it works. We are working closely with the Edge team at Microsoft, and hopefully, the upcoming Enpass v6.1 would bring support for the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge. Meanwhile, you can make the Enpass Chrome extension to work with the app by disabling the "Authorized browser with verified code signature only" option from Enpass Browser settings.

Hi, in the UWP its possible to start the app and just use Windows Hello, would like to see this in the new version of Enpass too. And atm after Enpass locked the current session, you've to manually select Hello to unlock, it's just an extra step, but after a while it gets really annoying :-) thanks

These days, it's hard to not leave behind a digital footprint. People can often learn a lot about you just by googling your username. I think that Enpass could really help solve this problem by offering a random username generator. The usernames could be nonsensical, or they could be created from a predefined dictionary. It would also be nice to have a general random generator so that you could generate random values for any field, but I think this would be more difficult to implement. One possible use case would be randomly selecting an email to use from a list of your email addresses, which would also make it harder for people to track your online activities.

I fully support this request. Having two or more independent vaults is a major point for Enpass (in theory). So far I can use any other PW-Manager (Reasons explained by AMK already)

Hello, I want to use enpass on a Mac with two users. The storage location is a shared folder where all users have full access rights. I want to use 3 different vaults, each with its own password protected. Vault-1 (default): access with master password possible Vault-2: Access only possible with Vault-2 Password Vault-3: Access only possible with Vault-3 Password Application example: Several family members use the Mac with their own user profile, start Enpass from the mentioned common folder. The Vault-1 area should contain passwords accessible to all users, Vault1 + 2 only personal passwords. How can I implement this?
  41. 1 point
I suspect you did not understand me. I want the user to enter the password when switching to the other vault. The user should only be able to look into his vault, unless one knows the password of the other vault.

Currently there is kind of a pain adding Cloud sync to WebDAV targets. I need to not only know the WebDAV URL, but also exactly the path format that Enpass is expecting, which isn't clear at all. Should it be the root? Should it be the Enpass folder in the root? Should it be the specific backup file in the Enpass folder? The root WebDAV URL should be enough, the client should be intelligent enough to let me pick the database file from there, or browse and let me select the folder where the password database is synced.

This would be really handy. I was searching the web for this feature so I found this post.

Hi, I'm well aware, that you guys can't support every browser and every platform. Is there a possibility to query the database while it is unlocked? I think qutebrowser.org would be a low hanging fruit to implement auto-fill with a few lines of python. Rgds Silvester
