I solved this by unchecking the "Verify Browser" button as suggested in the recent thread on connection failed.

I have updated my machine to the Creators Update and initially the beta extension worked as previously. However after receiving update KB4016240 the extension stopped working and doesn't respond at all. Are others having this problem?
