About Me

  1. On base install of Kubuntu 19.04, Enpass is unable to authorize sync with Dropbox (via Firefox). An error appears when clicking "Authorize" on the Dropbox sync page. I believe this is because newer versions of Kubuntu omit the `desktop-file-utils` package. This can be fixed by running the following commands in terminal: sudo apt install desktop-file-utils sudo update-desktop-database After this, run the sync setup again and it should work.
  2. When I've got my laptop docked to a Hi DPI display I like to tile 4 windows onto the display with my browser in the bottom left quadrant of the screen. (think quadrant 3 on a graph) When I'm creating a new login, the Enpass plugin will automatically open and offer to save the login, as it should. The pop-up opens clear on the other side of monitor, in the upper right quadrant. (think quadrant 1 on a graph) This wouldn't be a very big deal if I didn't use Sloppy mouse/window focus religiously. As soon as I drag the mouse cursor out of my browser window to try and reach the Enpass pop-up, whatever my mouse is hovering over immediately steals focus and the Enpass dialog disappears with no way for me to get it back to save the login. This has caused me to have to reset passwords to freshly created accounts on multiple occasions since I have no idea what the password was that was generated. I'm on Feren OS (based on Ubuntu18.04/Linux Mint 19.1) with Cinnamon DE 4.0.10. Enpass version 6.1.0.407 Is there a way to tell the Enpass plugin popup to prevent focus stealing? Thanks! 3. Hello community, after upgrading my monitor to an super ultra wide on (5120x1440p) Enpass keeps crashing and freezing on startup. If I turn down the resolution to 1080p, then there is no problem and everything works fine. Also running it from the terminal only prints out this Error: "QQmlComponent: Created graphical object was not placed in the graphics scene." Any help is appreciated. OS: Linux Manjaro Enpass Version: 6.0.6.323
  4. Hello dear community, I use Enpass Version 5.6.9 on my Ubuntu Linux machine and bought the Enpass App Version 6.0.6 for my Android Device - whenever i create a new entry on my desktop machine the records on the android device stay the same - it seems they were never again updated after the day of first installation. I already disconnected the Sync to Dropbox on both Devices and then re-connected them again, but that didn't help. Please give me some advice how to solve this nasty problem. EDIT: Solved it by updating Enpass on Linux Machine to 6.0.6 - passwords immediately auto synced. Nice. kind regards, Lupo
  5. I've just upgraded to Enpass 6 on my linux machine to keep everything in sync between Android, iPad, and Windows machines. It installed flawlessly and everything works. However, I still have my downlevel 5.6.5 alive and well on linux. How do I get rid of it? DNF list command only lists my upgrade of 6.0.4.

Dear support team, after my ticket updates seemingly remained unanswered I would like to remind u about it: it is STILL not working. Whenever I try to launch it from the application launcher (w or without shortcut) it fails to do see (see my other post about it). It was recommended to upgrade to the most recent version of my OS and Enpass 6.0.4 and curl is installed. What can be done ? See https://discussion.enpass.io/index.php?/topic/5245-launching-enpass/ for my old post.for
  7. Hello, Enpass 6 on Linux is looking so strange, double as my screen and there is no possibility to resize it, But first, during on installation process I got this error: Error in file "/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.font-viewer.desktop": "font/ttf" is an invalid MIME type ("font" is an unregistered media type) Error in file "/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.font-viewer.desktop": "font/otf" is an invalid MIME type ("font" is an unregistered media type) Please help to fix this?
  8. Cant sync with my webdav. I tried to delete the data on the server and sync again. I get always the message: Data not found. But the data is on the server. This happens on Linux and Android. P.S.: Please provide a flatpak for Enpass
  9. Hi support team, Updated my Linux Lubuntu 18.10 (64 bit) with new Enpass V6.0.0.230 and then today with V6.0.1.239 and it's eating my CPU processing power after entering password. It especially locks up when entering into "Settings" section of application. As it stands the update is not very user friendly when accessing my passwords/logins and it's very slow. I don't know if any other users are experiencing this issue. The machine is a 64 bit Acer Netbook D255e and CPU is a Intel Atom N455 (1.66GHz, 512KB cache), RAM 2GB. Sure its not a modern state of the art machine but Firefox v64 runs perfectly fine and so something certainly is not right with this new update. CPU and RAM seems to be fine when program opens at password stage but as soon as I log in the UI appears to be eating up CPU % usage shoots up to extremely high percentages, RAM memory appears to be fine. Regards Anon
  10. Inspired by the below discussion, I decided to pack up Enpass 6 into a AppImage for those who don't want to have to do all the work to get it on an unsupported distro like Gentoo, Void, etc. Just download it, mark it executable, and run it. I have yet to FULLY test it, but so far it works for me. I expect that auto-start on boot/log-in won't work yet, though. If there's enough interest in this, and Sinew isn't against it ( or better yet, hires me to maintain it officially ), I'll do more thorough testing and get auto-start working. DISCLAIMER and DISCLOSURE: This is an UNOFFICIAL package of Enpass 6 that I made for my self, and am releasing in hopes that others will find it useful. If Sinew asks me to, I will cease distribution. I have NO AFFILIATION with Sinew other than as one of their customers. Sinew is well within their rights to decline to support you while you use my package. You will still be bound by the same agreements and contracts with Sinew as if you were to use their official packages. I offer NO WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE, explicit or implied, in regards to this package; USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. 11. Hello, after booting up the system, the enpass icon is missing most of the time in my panel (xfce4-panel 4.12.2). I have to go to the task manager, kill the "enpass -minimize" process and then start Enpass again. Then the icon is showed and I can use Enpass. Enpass 6.0.0 (214) OS: Manjaro 18.0.0 Illyria Kernel: x86_64 Linux 4.19.8-2-MANJARO DE: Xfce4 (xfce4-panel 4.12.2) WM: Xfwm4
  12. Dear Beta Subscribers! We are getting closer and closer to the release date, and we’re happy to announce the finest beta with the improvements and bug fixes reported by you guys in the previous Beta. Unlike the previous beta versions of Enpass 6 which came as a separate app, this beta will come over the existing Enpass 5 application in your PC. While we add some finishing touches, get your hands on this beta and share your valuable feedback. IMPORTANT NOTES FROM DEVELOPER Must save a BACKUP: Before installing this beta, it is highly recommended to take a backup of your data manually from any Enpass version you are using. You can take a backup via Enpass > File > Backup. Installation NOTES: Unlike the previous beta versions of Enpass 6 so far, this one will come over and replace your current Enpass 5 app, and your data will be upgraded to support the new architecture of v6. And if you're having the previous beta version of Enpass 6, it will also get automatically uninstalled, so please take the backup of that one as well. Once the database is upgraded to v6, it can't be downgraded or restored into previous Enpass versions. Sync incompatibility: Sync in Enpass v6 works entirely in new, efficient way and syncs to the different location (generally in destined App folders on cloud service providers) than the previous versions released so far. It will neither synchronize with and nor restore data of any previous versions (Enpass 5 and previous Enpass 6 beta). So if you want to start testing of this beta as a clean install on some other device on which you are not having Enpass 5 (i.e., not over your existing Enpass 5 app), the only way is to restore data from the backup file. Browser extension incompatibility: The current Enpass 5 browser extensions are not compatible with the v6. You can download and install the latest extensions from here. Settings restoration: All your Enpass 5 settings will get reset, and you have to Re-configure them individually. What's New Multiple vaults: This is one of the most demanded features in Enpass that lets you have separate vaults for better segregation of your data. You can create multiple vaults for personal and work data and share with your family or team members by syncing through a common cloud account. However, each of your vaults requires a different cloud account to sync with. To create a new vault, go to app Settings > Vaults > Tap the ‘+‘ icon, and follow the instructions to create your new vault. Custom categories and templates: The desktop version of Enpass 6 now allows you to create your own custom Categories and Templates. This way you can manage your data the way you like. Dark theme: Enpass comes with the dark theme support for Linux. You need to restart the app after switching the theme from Enpass Settings for the changes to take effect. Sync through iCloud: Now the support for iCloud sync is not limited to Apple devices only, you can use it on other platforms as well. Favicons: Enpass 6 can automatically download and set the icon associated with the particular website or URL saved in an item. You can enable it from the Enpass Settings > Customize > Enable Use Favicon. Custom icons: We've also introduced a much-requested feature; Custom icons, which allows you to set any image as an icon for any item in Enpass. Secure sharing: This version brings secured sharing where you can share an item encrypted with a Pre-Shared Key (PSK). You can create PSK from the Advanced Settings of Enpass after which an additional option to Encrypt with PSK will appear while sharing the item. You need to share the PSK with the intended recipient which he needs to enter while importing the item. Keyfile support: You can now additionally use a Keyfile along with the master password to log into Enpass. Only the desktop versions allow you to generate keyfile while setting up the master password. Trash: Trash is here. From now onwards, every item you delete will go in the Trash first from where you can recover or permanently delete it. Archive: You can archive the items which are no longer in use, but you don't want to delete them as well. The archived item won't appear in any search results. Sorting options: Added options to sort the list of items by Created Time, Modified Time, Recently Used and Frequently Used. Multi-line fields: Added a new field-type as multi-line field which allows you to save information in more than one line. You can make any field a multi-line field by changing its field type from the item edit page. Identity: We've introduced a new default category Identity to let you fill those long, tedious identity forms with a single click. Added localization support for Afrikaans, Malay, Croatian, Hungarian, Indonesian, Romanian, Slovak and Swedish. Improvements Cloud synchronization: The new Enpass 6 now syncs the Enpass data into the designated App folder on the cloud, unlike it used to do in the root folder for OneDrive, and Google Drive. Along with this, the app now requires minimal permissions and will give relief to our folks who raised concerns regarding the list of permissions the Enpass was asking while configuring the sync, especially in case of OneDrive. Also, as Enpass 6 is based on a new architecture, it will not sync and restore data from previous Enpass 5 and Enpass 6 beta versions. Browser extensions: The new browser extension is now called Enpass Assistant with improved security, auto-filling, and auto-capturing. While setting initial connection, you would need to pair the browser first. It also allows you to autofill in pages with more than two fields. Improved Password generator and strength estimation: We have improved the password generator with the new user interface, option for excluding the symbols and the better strength estimation using zxcvbn. So there might be chances that the password shown as strong in Enpass v5 will be displayed as Weak in Enpass 6. Tags: The erstwhile Folder feature is now known as Tags. All your existing Folders and sub-folders will be replaced by the Tags and sub-tags respectively. Separate section for items with TOTP or Attachments: Many of you folks requested that items with TOTP or attachments should be grouped and displayed together, and here you'll see the separate sections for both TOTP and Attachments in the Sidebar. Eight digits TOTP support: Previously the app was restricted to generate only six digits TOTPs making it difficult for some folks who were using eight-digit TOTPs. Now this limitation has been removed, and you can freely add TOTP to quickly login into accounts. Checking Pwned passwords for the complete database: A significant improvement in checking the pwned passwords! Now instead of checking a single password for pwnage, you can check all passwords saved in your database. Better with importing data from other password managers. A lot of other minor improvements. Fixes over Previous Enpass 6 Beta There was an issue raised by some of you guys where If a user was adding an attachment containing any language specific characters ( å, ä, ö, etc.), then the app was crashing while saving the item. Well now, Fixed. A bug where WebDAV sync wasn't configuring over the Seafile server, now fixed. Fixed an issue where pressing the ESC key wasn't clearing the search field. Fixed an issue where copying or moving an item from one vault to another, lost all its assigned tags. Get it Now We are continually working to boost the quality of Enpass before the official release and devoting a lot of time in improvements and bug fixes. And we are eagerly waiting for your feedback on our forums. With Love to our Linux users!!❤️❤️
  13. Enpass 6 browser plugin doesn't work on RHEL 7.3. Enpass 5 works, but cannot get the Enpass 6 plugin to work. I have installed the desktop Enpass6 and have it running in the background. Browser extension is enabled in the App as well. It opens up the new enpass6 app but does not generate the key as it does on other platforms and an error page (attached) after sometime. I tested with Chrome and Firefox addons and neither of them worked.
  14. OS: elementaryOS 0.4.1 (Ubuntu 16.04) Browser: Firefox 62.0 Enpass: 6.0.0 (105) Extension: 6.0.0.5 TOTP autofill didn't work for sites neither Nextcloud instances nor popular ones like Github. On Windows machines I didn't notice such behavior with Enpass (version 5, so no beta!). Any ideas?
  15. Would it be possible to either release a command line client or enable command line access to the vault? Without it Enpass becomes a lot less useful for me.
  16. Hello Enpassians! The first Enpass 6 beta for Linux has just arrived with the following awesome features: Multiple-Vaults: Now you can share data with you family, friends or team members by using multiple vaults. Each vault must be synced with separate cloud account (could be of same service provider) for syncing. Keyfile Support: You can now additionally use a Keyfile with the master password of your desired length i.e. with the use of Keyfile there is no restriction on minimum length of 10 characters on master password. Cloud Sync: An improved cloud synchronization mechanism with Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, WebDAV and yes, the iCloud as well. Secure Sharing: Enpass now allows you to explicitly encrypt a shared item using your own Pre-Shared Key (PSK). You can define the PSKs in Enpass Advanced settings. New Browser Extensions: Don't forget to download and checkout our new browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox browser with an improved autofilling and form capturing to allow you to autofill in pages with more than two form fields and lot more. Custom Categories and Custom Templates: Manage your data the way you love by defining custom categories and templates. Custom Icons: Add your own icons to the items. Trash: Added support to Trash the items. Archive: You can now archive the items which are no longer in use, but you don't want to delete them forever. Also the archived items don't appear in search results. Get it Now Important Notes Supported Platforms: Beta versions are available only for systems with 64 bit architecture, and through the Debian and RPM repositories. Tested on CentOS 7, Fedora 24 and Ubuntu 14.04 or later (64-bit only). Separate app: Beta version of Enpass 6 will be installed as a separate app and will not replace the existing data of Enpass 5 on your device. So you can freely use the beta without worrying of any data mixup. Restoring database from Enpass 5: The only way to restore your existing data from Enpass 5 to 6 is through restoring your Backup file from Welcome Screen. In case you have already used Beta version of Enpass 6 on any other device and have synced it to cloud before, you can restore from there. Synchronization: Enpass 6 is based on a new architecture and will not sync with the existing data of Enpass 5 on cloud. So this way you can use your existing cloud accounts to test the sync in Enpass 6 without any mixup of existing data. Also, the Enpass 6 places the data on cloud into the designated App folder unlike it used to do in the root folder for Google Drive, and OneDrive. These changes will restrict you from restoring of existing data from cloud and you have to restore your data using a backup file. All beta versions are precursors of final products. They are intended for testing purposes only and should not be used any place where your data is important. Please backup your database before testing a beta release. The beta app may contain some features that are still in development and not fully functional. Waiting for your feedback. With Love to our Linux users!!❤️❤️
  17. So I've just installed enpass as I've had enough of lastpass's terrible everythingness. However, the UI isn't working quite right on my system - I generally have a very dark 'inverted' UI, and so I have some how got white text on a almost white background. The password is obviously hidden, but the title and the username arent' visible!
  18. Hi - I've been a happy, paid-up Enpass user for several years. I'm using it on several Linux machines - mostly 64-bit Xubuntu 16.04 and 17.10 and a 17.10 Kubuntu machine. All of the machines are configured to use Enpass from the PPA at http://repo.sinew.in/. They're all using Enpass 5.6.5. Recently I've noticed that EnpassNMHost can get into a loop, consuming 100% of a CPU core until it's killed. I've seen this happen on at least three of the machines; the others could also be exhibiting the bug, but I don't monitor them as often. What can I do to help you diagnose this issue?
  19. Hey there, I've been using Falkon as my primary browser for a while now and it's really mature and stable. With the release of the new Falkon 3.0.0 I would like to ask you guys if we can expect a enpass plugin/extension on it. Thank you for the best password manager, Joel Teixeira
  20. Hello, I'm using the 5.6.5 version of Enpass on Ubuntu-Mate 16.04.3. Here is my problem: When I run enpass the software opens on the page that asks me for the password, it's normal and it works, however as soon as I log in with the password the software closes immediately after typing the password. I uninstall and reinstall, I also try without internet connection and without backup and nothing changes it's always the same. below the result of a manipulation seen on the forum can help may be. 21. EDIT 5 Nov 2018 (10 months later): the problem is still here in v5.6.8. The Windows client does not fetch updated entries edited in the Android or MacOSX clients (but Linux, Android, MacOSX update just fine). I have the Android app v5.6.4 and the Windows v5.6.5. I created a sync with my own webdav server. It works fine, except one tricky part: if I edit an item in Windows that exists in both Android, it syncs and i can see the new edits in Android. Great. if I create a new item in Windows, it syncs and I can see it in Android. Great. if I edit an item in Android that exists in both Android, it syncs and i can see the new edits in Windows. Great. if I create a new item in Android, it syncs (confirmed by the last sync times in each app) but I cannot see it Windows! Not great! It seems that somehow the Android app does not send the new data over via Webdav on all updates to the database. Looks like a bug.
  22. Can't get either the stable or beta linux version to sync with google drive on ubuntu 16.04 lts. Error shown is: There went something wrong while synchronizing. (Error code: -118) which appears to be a failure to get the data file. I can see some TLS 1.2 traffic with a google host which seems to terminate after an encrypted alert so I can't see why. I can't see how to trigger debug output although there are signs it can be done in the binary. I tried turning off all sync and renaming the Enpass dir in google drive, same error afterwards. What should I do next?
  23. The plugin is failing to work on my system: Fedora 27, Firefox 57.01, Enpass 5.6.0, Plugin v 5.5.2 Image attached, "Enpass Connection Error" Is there a solution for this? Is anyone else encountering this?
  24. The only way I managed to make Enpass connect, as an existing user, to Webdav over Owncloud installed to my QNAP NAS TS-110 was by connecting to the server and manually save the walletx file to the PC, then run the Enpass installer again and choose "Backup file" in the "Restore" dialog of the installation wizard. After successfully restoring the existing user this way, I now can open the Toos->Settings->Sync options and manually enter there the connection information for the Webdav/owncloud option!
  25. Gnome in version 3.26 removes legacy system try. From this time the system try icon of enpass isn't visible in any way. If I use topicons plus extension or appindicator extension to gnome shell it isn't visible too.
