Nodoka Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 i have try to use enpass on linux "KDE Neon", i have no problem with xorg but if y use Wayland the app don't launch. If i try on a console. he say : "Module wayland not found"
Nodoka Posted April 21, 2017 Author Report Posted April 21, 2017 sorry for the up but ubuntu will soon give up Mir & unity for use Gnome & Wayland for 17.10. by default. If you don't work on the compatibility, enpass will stop to work soon on ubuntu.
lairdchris Posted July 2, 2019 Report Posted July 2, 2019 Sorry for posting in this old thread, but the problem still exists. qt.qpa.plugin: Could not find the Qt platform plugin "wayland" in "" This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. Available platform plugins are: xcb. This is what I get when I start Enpass on my Arch system running Sway Window Manager (Wayland). I have to manually start Enpass with QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb enpass to get it running. Other QT applications like Telegram or Calibre are working fine.
Guest Posted October 3, 2019 Report Posted October 3, 2019 Just wanted to add my +1. Wayland support would be appreciated!
Guest Posted May 16, 2020 Report Posted May 16, 2020 Following up - as lairdchris noted, it's possible to run Enpass under xwayland via: QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb enpass This works fine for the most part. However, automatic copying of TOTP after filling a login in a wayland browser doesn't work, but automatic copying of TOTP after filling a login in a xwayland browser does work.
Garima Singh Posted May 18, 2020 Report Posted May 18, 2020 Hi All, Thanks for sharing it. I have forwarded your inputs to the concerned team. Thanks.

Pratyush Sharma Posted October 15, 2020 Report Posted October 15, 2020 Hi @boo, Thanks for writing back in. Currently, we support xwayland package only. However, we have noted down your valuable suggestion and forwarded it to the concerned team for further consideration. Thanks for your feedback!
gv24 Posted June 14, 2021 Report Posted June 14, 2021 @Garima Singh Wayland is getting adopted more and more. KDE plasma 5.22 has been released recently and has wayland in a usable state now. I know enpass works with xwayland. However, the user experience of a xwayland desktop in general is not on par with either X11 or full wayland. The fractional scaling of xwayland causes for a blurry desktop. With the release of Plasma 5.22 and the significant improvement to wayland more people are able to make the switch from X11 to wayland. For me at least, the only app holding back a switch to wayland is Enpass. Hence my question if wayland support is on the roadmap of Enpass and if so if there is an estimate when this would become available. Regards
Garima Singh Posted June 14, 2021 Report Posted June 14, 2021 Hey @gv24 Welcome to the forum! We appreciate your efforts in helping us with the suggestions for improvement. Wayland support in Enpass is on our roadmap. We plan to switch to Qt6 near end of this year and that would be the a good time to introduce native Wayland support too. Thanks!
gv24 Posted June 14, 2021 Report Posted June 14, 2021 Hey @Garima Singh, Thanks for the reply. Wondeful to hear that Wayland support is on the roadmap. I'll patiently await the Wayland support. Thanks for putting in the effort. Regards 1

Hello again @Garima Singh, It's near the end of the year, just wanted to remind you of this so you all don't forget. I am really missing this feature!
Xavier De Yzaguirre Posted May 9, 2023 Report Posted May 9, 2023 (edited) Good morning, I would like to know the current status of the adaptation of Enpass to Wayland. My equipment is: Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 12 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 Kernel Version: 6.1.0-8-amd64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 12 × Intel® Core™ i7-10710U CPU @ 1.10GHz Memory: 31.2 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics Manufacturer: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. Product Name: Prestige 15 A10SC System Version: REV:1.0 With a 15.6-inch monitor and 4k resolution. The font with which Enpass appears is excessively small. Abhishek Dewan Posted August 1, 2023 Report Posted August 1, 2023 Hi @boo Our development team is already aware of this feature request. As soon as I have more information about this features implementation, I will be sure to update this forum. Thank you for your cooperation and support in the meantime.
Xavier De Yzaguirre Posted January 24, 2024 Report Posted January 24, 2024 Please work on Wayland compatibility! I hope for a solution. Thanks.
LeFritz Posted March 15, 2024 Report Posted March 15, 2024 @Abhishek Dewan I think the time has come to make Enpass finally Wayland compatible. Many desktops/distros switches to wayland as default. For me Enpass is the only program that doesn't work with wayland. It would be nice if you give "native Wayland support" a higher priority. Thanks 1
Amandeep Kumar Posted March 21, 2024 Report Posted March 21, 2024 @LeFritz Thank you for your patience and understanding. Enpass is still actively exploring this and assessing its feasibility. Rest assured, we will provide you with updates on any progress or developments regarding this matter. #SI-2064
PSJ Posted April 8, 2024 Report Posted April 8, 2024 This is very odd, this thread starts in 2017, seven years ago and users still get standard answers "Thank you for your patience......" Its time to start searching fo another software, i think. 1
Isaac Hollander Posted December 3, 2024 Report Posted December 3, 2024 I switched from to Enpass on the recommendation of some colleagues who know information security. I've generally been a happy user. But I may need to reconsider remaining on Enpass. After switching my Linux laptop to Fedora 41, I had to downgrade from Wayland to X11 in order for the Enpass client application to display properly. It would be very helpful to everyone if Enpass would provide a timeline when the application will be migrated from extremely old insecure library dependencies to the current standard used by all modern Linux distros.
Isaac Hollander Posted Sunday at 05:03 PM Report Posted Sunday at 05:03 PM Will post in the feature request forum; perhaps someone will respond there. Really disappointed that no one from Enpass responded to what I thought was a reasonable request.
