URL don't open in Enpass with Firefox as default Web browser

Featured Replies

Hello.

From some weeks now, I cannot open any URL in Enpass (6.3.3), when Firefox is set as the default Web browser.

PC with Windows 10.

It works when changing the default to Google Chrome.
So, that problem seems related to Firefox. The Firefox clean operation didn't change anything.
Is this case known ?

Thanks for your help.

Hi @PaulH49,

Please let us know the following details so we can further investigate:

  • On which device (along with OS version) are you using Enpass?
  • Which Firefox version are you using?
  • Which Enpass extension version are you using?
  • Are you using any Antivirus or third-party security-related extension?

Thanks for your co-operation

I'm using Enpass on a PC using Windows 10 with the latest update (1909).

Firefox version is 72.0.2 (64 bits).

Enpass 6.3.3.    I don't use any extension.

Antivirus is Windows Defender

Hi @PaulH49,

Thanks for sharing the details. I have noted down this issue and notified the QA team to look into it. I suppose that you use the Enpass extension on Firefox. Meanwhile, please try reinstalling the Firefox browser and check if there are any changes to the behaviour.

Hi,

I did some tests with another computer using Enpass and Firefox. It works OK!

So it is definitely the Firefox version installed on my usual PC.
Before reinstalling it, I look for some ways to keep my various data stored with Firefox.

Best regards.

@PaulH49,

If I've understood the problem correctly, I believe the issue exists but with the Firefox version and not Enpass. You can install the working version of the Firefox on the other device. I'd be happy to help if there's anything else.

Hi,

I've got the same problem. Enpass won't open URLs (including re-authenticating iCloud for sync, for example) when an other browser than Edge is the system standard. To open any URL from within Enpass, I have to set MS Edge as standard browser in the system settings.

I'm currently using:

Enpass 6.4.0

Windows 10 V1909

Vivaldi 2.11

Hi @Coffinwood,

Sorry for the trouble.

Regarding iCloud issue- We are already aware of this issue. Our Dev team is working on it and the update with the fixes will be available soon.

Regarding Firefox browser issue- Could you please uninstall the Firefox browser and install it again using this link. Once you install it, make it as your default browser and revert us back if the problem persists.

Thanks.
