Does wifi sync or cloud sync work in the background at all ?

Hi @ng4ever

I would like to share that in the iOS version of the Enpass app, when the app moves to the background and gets auto-locked, the sync process stops and is automatically resumed when you use the app.

Is this due to iOS or a choice you made? Once the folder freezing issue has been resolved, It would be nice for it to do an occasional update in the background rather than having to bring the app to the forefront.

Well this is an iOS “issue” as they enforce heavy hibernation on background apps. Take the Synology Photos App for example, it will not auto backup my photos unless it runs in foreground. Same for many other apps that need data transfer. Push is another topic, and will work fine. But I guess push can’t be used for Enpass wifi sync

Hi @Sigan

At the moment, the Enpass app synchronizes your data -

  • Every time the app is unlocked
  • Every 15 seconds when the app is active in the foreground on your device
  • Within 5 seconds every time you save a change

I have also forwarded your feedback regarding synchronizing Enpass data when the app is in the background to our development team for future consideration. We value your input and appreciate your cooperation and support during this time.
