cfinnberg Posted December 13, 2024 Report Posted December 13, 2024 (edited) Hi, I have a small problem with my desktop client in Linux. I have a vault in Onedrive (personal account) and it shows a message that says that the session is expired (see attachments). The process to authenticate/re-authenticate seems to be working fine, but when it returns to Enpass, the error message stays there. I use the same vault from a Windows client and it works fine without any odd messages. I made some tests and at least one time the Linux client got a change made in the Windows client. But I had to try to sync manually. I made a bunch of changes in my Linux client, but none of them made to the Windows client. I have another vault with Dropbox and it works and synchronizes without problems. In other Linux computer I have the same problem. Enpass Linux client v.6.10.1.1661 System: Manjaro Linux. Client installed from AUR (uses the enpass official DEB client package). Edited December 13, 2024 by cfinnberg More information
Tarun Singh Rawat Posted December 16, 2024 Report Posted December 16, 2024 The technical team is currently working on the issue with the Linux version. I will keep you updated and reach out as soon as I receive any progress or updates. #SI-4133
xflamechris Posted December 17, 2024 Report Posted December 17, 2024 Same issue on Linux Debian Bookworm
Ronny Gydar Posted December 17, 2024 Report Posted December 17, 2024 (edited) Same issue on Fedora, I even switched from Enpass to Bitwarden for now since it was such a pain to have sync problems on my work Linux machine. I use Windows and iphone version for all my private stuff, and Linux version for work, since I code on a Fedora work machine. The moment the Linux version is updated, I will go back to Enpass, since life on Bitwarden was not good for a long time happy Enpass user, lots of small daily irritations. So please update the Linux version so I can get back home to Enpass! In hindsight, I probably should have split up in a private and work vault a long time ago, so that I at least could have used Bitwarden only for work stuff until Linux Enpass version is coming with a onedrive fix. I did however try to switch to dropbox for syncing, and it failed for me...I guess I was a bit fast when testing that out, before abandoning ship to Bitwarden, which just opened a whole can of worms of small annoyances Edited December 17, 2024 by Ronny Gydar

Kevin Fulton Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 Any update? This issue is causing problems for multiple users in my family.
SDG Posted January 3 Report Posted January 3 Reporting that I also have this issue on my Manjaro machine with Enpass installed from the AUR. My Windows and iOS devices are syncing to OneDrive fine in the meanwhile.
Tarun Singh Rawat Posted January 9 Report Posted January 9 We have released the latest version 6.11.6 (1833) of Enpass app on Linux: https://www.enpass.io/downloads/ . Please install the latest version and check if the issue is resolved. 1

SDG Posted Tuesday at 03:45 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 03:45 PM Had some complications on my end, but it's working. Thanks! So, it turns out I had the package installed from the extras repo, not the AUR. Had a snow storm blow through and since my manjaro machine was at work, couldn't check anything for several days. Anyway, the AUR version was way out of date, so I didn't bother with that one, but the Flatpak version was up to date, so I tried that. No chance it could work and the notice on the listing is woefully inaccurate. It states that connections can't be made due to "default permissions." Apparently the author didn't consider that this implies that some combination of permissions would work. But it doesn't. Wasted quite a bit of time trying and I'm sure your logs on your end could tell you how many times it got authorized by OneDrive (but nothing ever took in the Flatpak version). Anyway, got in yesterday and deleted the Flatpak version because the extras repo finally had the current version and that worked flawlessly. Didn't even need to reauthorize, it just worked. This morning I noticed that the AUR version, which had been several versions out of date, is now also up to date. So that's cool. I would have replied earlier, but my default ubo permissions disallow inline scripts and there had been a restart since my first post, so my smooth brain couldn't figure out why I couldn't reply and was looking around to see if the thread got locked.

I wouldn't say it was late in any way. Also, it wasn't "several versions out of date". As far as I know the previous version was the last version available for Linux at the time. Notice that the Linux version of Enpass is not updated as frequently as the Windows version. Version history in Linux: https://www.enpass.io/release-notes/linux/ Version history in Windows: https://www.enpass.io/release-notes/windows-pc/ The one in the Manjaro repository probably got update **after** the AUR version was updated. SDG Posted Tuesday at 06:15 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 06:15 PM I apologize for overstating. I must be mixed up with the Windows versions as well since I use it across Windows, Linux, MacOS, and iOS. I can only wish the version numbers stayed in sync and releases were simultaneous, but it's probably not practical. All I can say is the release hit flatpak first, then extras, then AUR, based on my checks. Might be my update client wasn't getting fresh info each time.
