Hi,

Today I tried to create a passkey on LinkedIn (German version, but still linkedin.com). They ask for my password and send a verification code via mail. When I entered the code from the mail into the website the Enpass dialog pops up and asks, if it can update the entry for LinkedIn. I click on "Update" and then LinkedIn complains "An error occured. Please try again.". But that does not work either.

According to Enpass the passkey has been successfully saved. But LinkedIn does not seem to recognize this, so I always have to login with mail + password + OTP.

I use Firefox on Windows 11 (all patched to the latest release of today).

Is this a known issue or is there a work around for this?

It seems there might be a conflict between Enpass's entry update process and LinkedIn's passkey creation workflow. To address this, please try the following steps:

  1. Manually Save the Passkey:
Instead of letting Enpass update the existing entry automatically, disable autofill temporarily in the browser and manually create or update the LinkedIn entry in Enpass with the passkey details.

  2. Check for Field Mapping:
Verify that all required fields (e.g., email, password, and OTP) in the LinkedIn item within Enpass are correctly mapped and saved in the correct format.

  3. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies:
Sometimes, browser cache and cookies can interfere with website workflows. Clear them and try the process again.

  4. Update Enpass Extension:
Ensure the Enpass extension in Firefox is up-to-date.

If the issue persists, please share any error details or screenshots (if possible) so we can investigate further.

I have once added the Passkey to Windows as I do not know how to manually add a passkey later to Enpass. Then I deleted that key and created another one after activating Enpass again. Now it works completely fine and I have a passkey now. Thanks for the answer!
