I can sync iCloud from my Mac to my iPhone and vice versa.

When trying to sync my windows PC to the iCloud vault it does the following:

1. Opens a browser window in order for me to sign into iCloud.

2. After I input my credentials, it pings my phone for 2FA

3. I enter the code, and then I get "Authentication Error. This action could not be completed. Please close the window and try again."

4. I get a notification on my iPhone saying "The website you approved has access to display your iCloud data until you sign out"

5. The Enpass app either spins or tells me a timeout error occurred and retry.

  • I do have Advanced Data Protection turned on.
  • I'm using Enpass 6.85.1238.0 on the Windows PC.
  • My OS on the Windows PC is Windows 11.
  • I'm using iOS version 6.8.6 on the iPhone.
  • I tried opening the authentication page with both Brave and Microsoft Edge

Let me know if I need to provide any more info.

Hi @jleseane23

Welcome to the Enpass Forums.

For troubleshooting purposes, please create a manual backup of your Enpass data then follow the below steps –

  1. Remove the synchronization from all the connected devices. While doing so, you will also get an option to 'Delete data from iCloud'. Please proceed with it and after doing it, enable the synchronization again.
  2. Could you please check and confirm that the time setting is set to automatic on all the devices and there is no time difference? If they are not, kindly set it to automatic.
  3. Try clearing the cache and cookies of the browser.
  4. Ensure that you have allowed access to Enpass in your Firewall/Antivirus Settings. Moreover, if you are using any VPN service, try disabling it to check if the issue persists.
  5. Try disabling Advanced Data protection.
  6. After creating a manual backup, try reinstalling the Enpass app on the affected device.

If the issue persists, please share the below details -

  1. The version of the browser you are using.
  2. Any Firewall/Antivirus/VPN service you are using.

Win11 24h2 - cleared chrome cache, deleted vault even and re-signed in.

it recognized my lifetime license. Tried to reconnect icloud vault. it spiiiiins and spiiiins.

Finally says a timeout occurred while connecting to icloud.

I got the allow prompt/code on iphone and entered it. Something in the latest build nuked icloud syncing. Going to have to try syncing it to something else maybe wifi as this is unreliable.

Thanks

I have the same problem with Chrome, same Win 11 version.

As a workaround, use Firefox (latest). This has been working for me. It's a bit of a pain, though, that you have to change the default browser to make it work, forth and back. Hopefully, this will be sorted out by either Enpass or Chrome teams until next auth is needed ...

Cheers,

Good morning,

For the past few weeks, iCloud synchronization has not been working on one of my Windows 10 PCs.

I get a timeout error after signing in with my Apple ID and waiting for some minutes. I have tried signing in using both Chrome and Edge. See attached images.

I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Enpass, but that didn’t solve the issue.

I have another Windows 10 PC that syncs correctly.

My iPhone also syncs correctly.

Can you help me?

Thanks!

I've also been experiencing issues with iCloud sync on Windows 11. Tried clearing cache and re-authenticating, but it still times out. Thanks for the Firefox workaround I'll give that a shot! Hopefully, Enpass or Chrome resolves this soon because switching browsers just for syncing isn't ideal.

Since iCloud sync works on your other devices, the issue is specific to this PC. Check Apple’s System Status for outages, ensure date & time are set to auto-update, and clear the iCloud cache (C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Apple Inc\iCloud\). Disable any VPN, firewall, or proxy, reinstall iCloud for Windows, and flush the DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns). If the issue persists, try a different network. Let me know if this helps!

I am having this same issue.

1.  Cleared the cache and cookies of the browser.

2.  Disabled Advanced Data protection.

3.  Latest build of both OS and Chrome browser.

4.  Tried with Windows firewall enabled and disabled.

I have the same problem. I can't authentificate in Win11 with Edge as standard browser.
Edge opens, I can enter the PIN shown on my iPhoone, but then nothing happens.

When I define Firefox a standard webbrowser, firefox asks to open an URL and after I agreed, Enpass syncs via iCloud.

Due the authorisation works with Firefox, I asume it is a problem with Edge and not a problem of iCloud, DNS or  firewall/proxy/...

Just use Firefox for now and it will work.

Switching to Firefox does not 'solve the issue'. It's a work-around.

I could also 'solve the issue' by replacing my PC with a Macbook.

I personally just started using OneDrive to sync between my Windows and Apple devices as a work-around, but this is not a fix.

'Solving the issue' is making whatever changes are required so that Enpass is once again compatible with, and able to sync with, Icloud.

Of course, this is just my opinion...

Nobody ever said, its a solution. Get your head straight. You want it to work in the short term, use this fix, if you're not satisfied wait for the chromium fix. Whatever floats your boat. It was just a suggestion to get you up and running again, but even that seems too much energy spend for someone like you.

Whoa! Get my head straight? Someone like me?

Look, I'm not interested in 'spending some time' delving into the details of V2, or V3, or Chromium extensions, or whatever, as you refer to elsewhere. I'm just looking for an answer as to when this gets back to normal, as are many others.  For sure, somebody owns this problem - I really don't care who, or why it happened, or any of the technical explanations. Just something along the lines of 'we're aware of the problem, we need to make some changes, we plan to roll out a fix as soon as it's ready' would be fine.

And as far as stating that Firefox is the solution, just for the record, on March 26, YOU said...

"Please try authenticating with Firefox. Other users reported the same issue and solved it with using Firefox."

Perhaps I misunderstood.

So, take it easy, friend - not really looking for a cage match here...

Why should I say something along the lines of

Quote

if I'm no way affiliated with Enpass. All I'm doing is pointing into the right direction.
Also I said the users solved their issue of not syncing, the underlying issue of course is not fixed by it.

And if you don't care about the cause, then why don't appreciate a fix for your current situation?
