EnPass forgets I have EnPass Installed

Featured Replies

I keep having this issue during my testing of Enpass.

I setup enpass and that seems to work fine, but later when I restart it, I get the initial screen where I am asked how I will use enpass (personal or business). I ended up with three different enpass installations of the main vault. Enpass lets me enter items in which ever vault is "current" from the latest forced re-install but then later it seems to totally forget it's installed and wants me to go through the entire process again... ????

Not sure how this happens, but it doesn't seem enpass is going to work for me. Just too many issues (passkey not working as expected, for example).

Thanks,

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Could you please check if there are two instances of Enpass installed on your machine? For example, one from the Microsoft Store and another from the website (standalone version). Having both versions can sometimes lead to unexpected behavior like repeated setup prompts and multiple vaults being created.

If you find both installed, we recommend uninstalling one version and keeping only the one that best fits your use case.

Let us know what you find, and we’ll be happy to assist further.

Yeah, I had the same problem. For some reason it kept resetting. I ended up switching to another password manager because it just wasn't reliable.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m sorry to hear the issue persisted to the point that you had to switch solutions. Reliability is a priority for us, and feedback like yours helps us identify where improvements are needed.

If you’re open to it, I’d be happy to document the details of what you encountered so we can review it internally and prevent similar cases in the future.
