August 4, 2025Aug 4 Hello! First of all thank you for the great product. I am looking forward to get also good support, guidance and also learn about best practices for Enpass! I bought the paid personal Enpass version and currently own 3 laptops (1:email, 2:photo, 3:banking) which I use with my docking station and ethernet LAN cable connection (more laptops to maybe come in future). I am docking-in my laptops alternatingly onto the dockingstation and I want to have all my Enpass entries from each laptop synced with 1 destination - let's say to a fileshare/NAS Drive/NFS-Share. How do the Enpass Database and Vaults must be named and configured on each laptop and the destination drive, so they get automatically synced via folder sync once I put each laptop to the docking station? What's the right order and steps to establish this multiple device setup and configuration? (User manual and knowledge-base does only provide help on high level) How does Enpass later sync entries to the central database and laptop vaults in case the entries are changed locally and offline on the Laptop1 e.g. "PC login PASSWORD" and parallely other change to "PC login ACCOUNT-NAME" is applied on another Laptop2 offline? How does Enpass ensure entries won't be overwritten from Laptop 1 to anothers and vice versa and all entries are combined and updated in the right order? August 5, 2025Aug 5 Thank you for your kind words and for choosing Enpass. We're glad to hear you're enjoying the product and are happy to support you with your advanced setup. 1. Setting Up Folder Sync with a Shared Destination (NAS/NFS): You can configure all your laptops to sync the same Enpass vault using the Folder Sync feature. Steps: On your first laptop (e.g., Laptop 1), open Enpass and go to Settings → Vaults → [Your Vault] → connect → Folder, then choose a shared folder on your NAS or network share. On the other laptops (Laptop 2 and 3), follow the same path to set up sync, selecting the same shared folder. Make sure all devices have read/write access and are mounting the network share with the same path. 2. Handling Conflicts from Offline Changes: Enpass uses timestamps and content checks to detect changes. When multiple devices make changes offline, Enpass attempts to merge them. Let us know your operating system and Enpass version if you’d like specific instructions. We're happy to assist further.

Hi Kumar, I did it according to your description and it is working fine on several laptops now - Thank you! Why don't you collect this instruction and document it in a Best Practice Guide somewhere? 1) Can I additionally setup Wifi-Sync on 1 of the mainly used laptops to get the main vault synced each time with an iPhone and Android Smartphone as also with some iOS/Android Tablets? Is Wifi-Sync the recommended way to go in that case? 2) question, I have created several vaults on few of the laptop devices (couple vaults on each device) mistakenly and would just like to keep 1 vault on each laptop device. I was already trying to find a possibility to delete/remove the unnecassary vaults but couln't find any possibility. How/where is the button in Enpass to get rid of the unnecassary vaults? August 13, 2025Aug 13 Thanks for your feedback, we’re glad to hear the instructions worked well on your laptops! Documenting such best practices is indeed a great idea. To answer your questions: 1) Wi-Fi Sync Setup Yes, you can set up Wi-Fi Sync on one of your primary laptops to keep your main vault synchronized with your iPhone, Android phone, and tablets. Wi-Fi Sync is a secure, local-network option that avoids cloud storage great if you prefer to keep your data within your own network environment. 2) Removing Unnecessary Vaults If you want to remove any extra vaults from Enpass on your laptop: Go to Settings → Vaults. Select the vault you want to remove. Tap the three dots menu in the top-right corner. Select Remove Vault. Please remember that removing a vault deletes all its data from that device, so ensure you have backups if necessary.
