timlance Posted November 22, 2025 Report Posted November 22, 2025 I'm not really so worried about absolute security. (Say what you will; I have my reasons chief of which is my wife refuses to give a flip and uses as many of the same passwords she can get away with and doesn't have a pass for her laptop FFS.) I do care about site's logins/passwords and love Enpass. But I am getting tired of having to log into Enpass several times a day. In Enpass>Settings>Security>Autolock I have tried setting System Inactive for 9999 minutes and Enpass is idle for 9999 minutes - all other options unchecked. What am I doing wrong?
Amandeep Kumar Posted November 24, 2025 Report Posted November 24, 2025 I understand how inconvenient it is to log in multiple times a day, especially when you’ve already extended the auto-lock timers. If Enpass is still locking even with System Inactive and Enpass Idle both set to 9999 minutes, it’s likely that a system-level trigger is forcing the lock. A few common causes where windows/macOS may lock secure storage when: The system goes to sleep The screen locks You switch between user accounts The device restarts Any of these events will force Enpass to lock regardless of your in-app settings. To help identify the exact cause, could you please share the following: Your OS (Windows/macOS/Linux) Enpass app version Whether you’re using the Enpass browser extension (Chrome/Firefox/Edge) When the lock typically happens (after sleep, after screen lock, or randomly) Once I have this information, I can guide you more precisely on what’s triggering the lock and how to prevent it.
timlance Posted November 26, 2025 Author Report Posted November 26, 2025 I do not have my system set to lock itself upon going to sleep, nor when the screen saver starts, nor upon user switching - not anything. Of course restarting does lock as I do have a rudimentary password. macOS 26.1 Enpass v6.11.16 build 2123 Safari browser extension active I have not noticed any particular circumstances, just that when I need it I almost always have to enter my pass.
Amandeep Kumar Posted November 26, 2025 Report Posted November 26, 2025 To investigate this further, could you please install Enpass from the Mac App Store and check if you experience the same issue there? This will help us identify whether the behavior is specific to the website version or system-related. Let me know how it goes, happy to help further!

Do continue to prefer Enpass over Bitwarden and Strongbox, but still, it's aggravating.
