Command Line Client

Featured Replies

Would it be possible to either release a command line client or enable command line access to the vault? Without it Enpass becomes a lot less useful for me.

I think it's kind of the same issue like:

As soon such an API is available the people can create tools, scripts and plug-ins as a workaround until official tools are available.

I've been using a CLI to Enpass for some time based on a project found here which worked great till the DB change in version 6.0  The project owner has voiced he's no longer interested in maintaining the project and is looking to hand it off to someone interested.  I really haven't done much with cryptography but if Enpass is willing to offer a hand and work together I think most of the work is already there and shouldn't take to much to update the code to the latest version.  What say you @Anshu kumar?

Would love to see a possibility to access Enpass from CLI, again since the mentioned project doesn't work anymore.

I am also looking forward for a Linux command line client and/or API!

Ditto to all the above.  Would love to see a command line interface for Linux and Mac OS.

Totally agree. CLI or API would be very helpful.

Is there any chance to get it?

Hey Guys,

Thanks for letting us know that you would like to see support for the same. Significant user demand is a big factor that determines our priorities. We really appreciate you for exploring the app and giving time in finding this valuable suggestion. The suggestion has been noted and forwarded to the concerned team.

Thanks.

Any updates on this? I would also like to see this feature.

Hi @Lizard,

Welcome to the forums!

Our Dev team is working on it. Till then, we will request you to please co-operate with us.

Thanks for understanding!

Glad to hear it is being worked on. =) Enpass is already perhaps the most polished password manager for linux and adding a cli client would make it trivial to implement a autotype feature for linux desktops.

Hey @Chrysostomus

Thank you so much for your feedback. We really appreciate you for taking the time out to share your valuable suggestion with us. Thanks!

Could you please give an update on the progress the dev team has made in the last two years?

In the meantime, this has worked for me:

https://github.com/hazcod/enpass-cli

This worked for me as well, sorta :/

Unfortunately, I get an issue with some(!) entries: https://github.com/hazcod/enpass-cli/issues/114

Any idea on that maybe?

Would really love to use it because it's exactly the flexibility I need.

Patrick
