January 2, 20197 yr In the new Enpass (6.0.0) for Windows, search is no longer universal--I can't just search for a field or password. Now we have to manually select "Title", "Field", or "Passwords" before searching. Why has the useful functionality of universal search been downgraded? By the way, I have "Search in all items" checked in settings, but that doesn't seem to change anything.
January 4, 20197 yr +1. I think search should be universal by default. Or at least Title + fields + notes
January 4, 20197 yr @Hassan, Fields search includes title and notes as well. Passwords are encrypted additionally inside database. So, searching will be slow if we include that in Fields search. Moreover, you hardly need to search a login by its password.
January 4, 20197 yr Problem seems to exist with the MacOS version also. If I try to search on part of a word (ie first 3 letters) not all items come up... this is for all content other than passwords. Before the big update it used to work. Makes it difficult when you have a large DB of content. Just to confirm I have "Search in all items" checked in settings also. Edited January 4, 20197 yr by maxim
January 4, 20197 yr Hi @maxim, Cllick on lens icon in search entry and select fields option. Cheers:)
January 9, 20197 yr Hi @Vinod Kumar I think I have an issue with universal search. It seems to ignore email addresses containing a + sign. For example: myname+something(at)tld, which you can do with Gmail. However, the search doesn't find anything if I look for myname+something(at)tld even though the fields option is selected. Thanks!
January 10, 20197 yr Hi @andlinwinuser, The issue has been fixed. Will be there in next update. Thanks.
January 10, 20197 yr I have this same complaint. Search should be everything. It's nice to have an option I suppose, but I would just like it to search everything; title, fields and definitely usernames. I believe this behavior (search everything by default) was present in Enpass 5.
January 10, 20197 yr Just to add to this, I don't need the ability to search passwords, but please set a default for all other fields, or allow the end user to make that functionality happen via a setting. Thank you.
January 10, 20197 yr Author Just to reiterate, I find it quite a downgrade that the new update doesn't let us search everything, and now we have to choose the type of search we want to do. I don't think anyone likes having their search limited like this. I really hope the Enpass devs reconsider this change.
January 11, 20197 yr Hi @justaguy, Click on lens icon in search entry and select fields option. Enpass will now search in all fields, title and note. Thanks.
January 11, 20197 yr Thanks for this - working for me now . Glad I found this. I thinking the search dropdown options could be slightly clearer, perhaps something like: 'Titles only' and 'All fields except passwords'. Perhaps 'All fields except passwords' could be the default too! Edited January 11, 20197 yr by kefa

January 16, 20197 yr I also think that the default search option should be to search in all fields except passwords and only passwords as a separate option.
