Unable to use Enpass extension with Safari - "Enpass Connection Error"

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm thinking of switching from 1Password to Enpass, but before I purchase the $9.99 iOS app, I want to ensure that Enpass will work for my needs.

Currently, On Safari I am not able to use the Enpass plugin. I get the dreaded:
Enpass Connection Error

Please start Enpass desktop app and make sure you have checked "Enable Browser Extension" in Enpass Preferences, before using Enpass Browser Extension.

Enpass is listening on 10391, and Chrome and Firefox plugins work fine on the same computer.

Environment:
macOS 10.12.3
Safari 10.0.3
Enpass plugin 5.3.3
Enpass 5.4.1

I have attempted to completely reset all Safari settings, data/caches, and plugins with no luck. Any help on how to get some debug logs would be much appreciated!

Justin

Hi Justin,

I've also encountered this issue. Sometimes, that can be fixed by simply uninstalling and reinstalling the extension. But when that does not work, I clear the system caches and rebuild the permissions with a tool like OnyX and restart the system. Clearly, there is something buggy in the extension management but I enjoy very much this app (Desktop and iOS).

All the best

Eddy,

I cleaned up the system with OnyX but the issue persists. Sinew has offered to troubleshoot this with me. I will report back the findings.

Thank you Justin. I'm glad to learn that Sinew has offered to troubleshoot.
