The 30-second registration timer needs to be increased. That is not nearly enough time to accomplish the task.

 

You have as much time as you want, it's just that after 30 seconds you can request another email in case the first one didn't arrive. Basically the same login process as WhatsApp just with email instead of SMS.

in fact, read the email: it says clearly that the code is valid for 5 mins.

Five minutes is too short.

It takes longer than five minutes for the email containing the six digit code to reach me.

By then, it's expired.

I have the same problem

the email took much more than 5 min to me

so I'm not able to do that!!

Same here, the email is taking abou 15 minutes to reach me. It´s not the mail server, that is causing the problem, other emails arrive in about 1-2 minutes.

So I am stuck here...

The time for verifying the OTP is 5 minutes. However, users signing-in with an Apple account who register using private relay emails will receive the OTP later due to delay from online servers.

We're working to tweak the mechanism; accelerate the mail sending and the subsequent OTP verification process.

couldnt you just use "sign in with apple" and the rest would happen automatically? same as what is possible with google?

Yes, I agree with you that we can use 'Sign in with Apple' and 'Sign in with Google' for a smoother on-boarding. 

Please note, 'Sign in with Apple' will works seamlessly on iOS device; however, the issue arises when a user restores the purchase on another platform using the same email as the OTP verification is necessary on other platforms.
