How to restore or view a single item from a vault-backup?

Featured Replies

Hi,

how can I restore or at least view a single item from a vault-backup? I accidentally overwrote a password of one item. It was not deleted, so I cant' find it in the recycle bin.
And I don#t want to restore the whole database :D

Hi @Kartoffel,

Welcome to the Enpass Community Forums.

Presently, there is no option to restore or view a single item from a vault backup, so you must restore the entire database. Alternatively, you may want to try installing another Enpass version, a website version if you are using an Enpass store version, or vice versa. Now restore the data to see that item's information.

Hi Manish,

thanks for your reply. But couldn't I just create another vault and import the backup there? Or will this mix up the entries?

Hi @Kartoffel,

Keeping things simple and preventing any confusion in the vault creation or data, I recommended installing a different Enpass version. Otherwise, you could create another vault and restore the data there.

Make a new backup of the current Vault.
Restore the previous backup.
In Vault Explorer, perform a "Get Latest Version" to save a copy of the deleted file(s) to your local workspace.
Restore the current Vault backup created in Step 1.
Check in the copied files to the Vault.
