Passkeys don't work on Linux (Firefox and Chrome)

Featured Replies

Hi,

It seems like it is currently not possible to either create new Passkeys or authenticate with them using Enpass on Linux (I tested Firefox and Chrome).

The website I tested with is https://www.passkeys.io/, but other websites also didn't work.

What did work was adding and authenticating with Enpass on an iPhone.

Note that the problem is not with Firefox or my OS as the same test worked with Bitwarden.

I hope this gets resolved soon as it is currently blocking me from using passkeys.

Best regards,

Alex

To further troubleshoot the issue, could you please provide the following details:

  • Confirm if the "Manage Passkey" option is enabled from the "Extension Settings" page.
  • Specify if this issue is occurring for a specific website or for all websites.
  • Author

I checked the Enpass version again and while I had the newest version installed, I was starting an older version from the autostart...

So this was definitely my fault. Passkeys seem to work now on the websites I am using.

Sorry for the confusion.
