I saw a request from 2016 that had been closed and was wondering if the idea of barcodes has been disregarded or is something that may show up in the future.

It would be nice for all sorts of loyalty cards/grocery/shopping, or any ID that relies on scanning barcodes. 

Obviously making this a feature that can be displayed on smart watches would be super helpful as well.
