I've actually been using BitWarden for a while. This morning I opened the Enpass app with the intention of taking a look to see if there's been any improvements since I left. Whilst BitWarden does the job self hosting is a hassle.
The first thing I was presented with was an advert.
For me this removes all trust of the app being offline. If they're downloading adverts then what are they sending to their servers in regards to our devices and potentially vault contents?
I have "check for alerts" unticked and yet adverts are still being downloaded. If they're lieing here then where else? Overreaction? Maybe... but then this is a security application for managing some of our most sensitive information. Honesty is needed and trust is easily broken.
Until the Enpass team sort out their priorities I'd recommend people check out alternatives.
