Enpass extension issues with Edge and Firefox on Linux

Featured Replies

I'm using Microsoft Edge (dev) 91 on PopOS 20.10 (based on Ubuntu 20.10) and I cannot get the browser extension to find the Enpass desktop app.  I'm able to use the Desktop app just fine, but the extension just errors saying "Enpass Assistant is unable to connect with the Enpass app."

The logs for the extension just show the following when attempting to connect to the desktop app.

  • 4/19/2021, 10:54:29 AM : Connecting using websocket
  • 4/19/2021, 10:54:29 AM : Opening connection on ws://127.0.0.1:10391
  • 4/19/2021, 10:54:30 AM : Got Error

I'm getting the same result with Firefox 87.

I have ufw disabled to see if there was a firewall issue but that didn't fix the issue.

Anyone seen this before?

Hey @sirleward

Welcome to the forum!

For quick troubleshooting, please check if you have enabled Browser extension from the Enpass Browser setting and also Enpass app is running in the background. If the problem still persists, open the terminal and then run the following command and share result with us:

lsof -i:10391

Where 10391 is the port number. Try with other port numbers in range 10391 to 10395 if there is no output.

Thanks!

Hi,

I also have connection problems, Enpass cannot connect with the Browser Extension.

Also I cannot sync my safe with GDrive.

I use the Enpass version of the PopOS! store.

The install package discribed on the enpass website never worked for synchronization.

Hi @Palle

To assist you better with this concern, kindly share the below details with me and I'll gladly get this checked  for you -

  1. The version of the Enpass app, OS, browser and Enpass Extension you are using.
  2. A screenshot of the error occurring during synchronization and connection issue would be helpful.

Hi @Abhishek Dewan.

My Enpass version is 6.8.5 (6 th February 2023) .

The OS is Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS

The Browser is  Firefox 116.0

Enpass extension is Version 6.8.3

The redirect button can open Enpass (In case if I close it before.)

Hi @Palle

Based on the information you've provided, it appears that although the redirect icon is visible, the Enpass app is not establishing a connection with the cloud. If this understanding is accurate, I kindly request that you proceed to update your Enpass app to the most recent version, which is 6.9.0 designed for Linux. Our development team has successfully addressed this bug, and I would greatly appreciate it if you could subsequently share your observations and findings with me.
