September 7, 2025Sep 7 On Linux Mint 22.1 (MATE), enpass assistant does not remember my search term whenever it loses focus. Here are the steps to better explain and also to help reproduce the issue: Open enpass assistant and enter password Search for an entry using text search (for example: "Amazon") Right-click on an entry and choose "Copy Email" (for an example) Paste the email into a login form. At this point, enpass assistant loses focus and disappears from my screen Click on the enpass assistant icon in the linux system tray / dock before the auto-lock time period expires Enpass assistant opens, but the search term "Amazon" is missing and the entry I searched for is now gone and I have to search again. This makes it difficult to copy / paste both the email and the password in succession. Ideally it would remember the search term until the auto-lock time period expires. For me personally, this falls into the category of "bug" and not "feature request", but please let me know. Thank you!
September 9, 2025Sep 9 Thank you for sharing the detailed steps to reproduce the issue. I will pass this along to our technical team for further investigation. If we need any additional details from you, we will reach out. We truly appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this! #SI-4489
September 15, 2025Sep 15 To make it easier for you to copy and paste your Username, Password, and other fields simultaneously, we recommend enabling the “Always open Assistant in Docked mode” option in Enpass General settings. By enabling this feature, the Enpass Assistant will remain visible in the foreground, allowing for a smoother and more efficient experience while filling in your credentials.
September 20, 2025Sep 20 Author Hi, thank you for your response. I have tried the "open assistant in docked mode" setting and it works okay, except when I bind the "open enpass assistant" command to a keyboard shortcut in my operating system (Linux Mint 22.1 / MATE) it opens the assistant directly in the center of my screen, which covers the password entry form of the website some of the time. I move the assistant to a corner of my screen but once I close it and use the keyboard shortcut to open it again, it re-appears in the center of my screen (it does not remember the position I dragged it to). I feel like this command would be better if it had some parameters I could pass for the desired screen position, or if it just used the default screen position that the icon in the system tray / dock uses when you click it, which is anchored to a corner of the screen. I have my linux system tray dock positioned at the top of my screen, not the bottom as is the default, so maybe that is part of the issue here.
September 22, 2025Sep 22 Thank you for sharing these details and for testing the “Open Assistant in docked mode” option. We understand the inconvenience of the Assistant reopening in the center of the screen and not remembering the position you moved it to, especially when using a custom keyboard shortcut. Your suggestion to either allow position parameters or anchor it consistently to the system tray/dock location is a very valid one, and we’ve shared this feedback with our product team for consideration in future updates. We really appreciate you bringing this up, and we’ll keep you updated if there’s any progress on this feature.
