oaruhyo Posted August 30, 2019 Report Posted August 30, 2019 (edited) I'm trying out enpass 6.1.1 (451) on Windows 10. I have check for updates disabled, but when I start the app, it tries to connect to 54.68.132.103. Why is enpass trying to phone home? An offline password manager should never be connecting to the internet unless I want to check for updates (which I have disabled). Edited August 30, 2019 by oaruhyo
oaruhyo Posted September 3, 2019 Author Report Posted September 3, 2019 Does no one reply to questions in the support forums? Why would anyone trust an offline password manager that connects to enpass servers?
iearmand Posted September 4, 2019 Report Posted September 4, 2019 (edited) They do have a post on this: https://www.enpass.io/support/kb/security/if-enpass-is-an-offline-password-manager-then-why-does-it-connects-to-internet-and-shows-network-activity/ Edited September 4, 2019 by iearmand

Since those two things they mention are disabled, then it shouldn't be connecting to the internet - but it is. Are they checking for updates even though the setting is disabled? Are they collecting analytics? It would be nice if they answered.
