  1. Recently something came across my mind. Enpass user manual says that all my data is encrypted using my master password then how come when I switch on biometrics I can open enpass with my fingerprint only?
  2. Hi, I am using Enpass on two devices which both have Windows Hello authentication via fingerprint reader activated. On one of them Enpass behaves as I would expect it to. It asks for my fingerpringt whenever I open it up. Also the first time after boot. On the other one the first unlock always has to be via my (quite long) password. Only later unlocks can happen via fingerprint reader. I would like to change this behaviour to match my first device. Best regards
  3. I recently bought Pixel 4a as a replacement for my Pixel 3a, and after restoring the content from the old phone, I encounter following issue with Enpass. I'm using biometrics (fingerprint) as a identification method, and now on Pixel 4a, after every fingerprint prompt, I also need to enter Master password. On previous Pixel 3a, the behavior is expected one, with fingerprint check, the Enpass is unlocked without password prompt. I did manage to notice, that when I enable the Biometrics option in the Settings, and authenticate myself with fingerprint, I'll get the following toast message at the bottom of the screen: "Failed to encrypt the data with the generated key error". Biometrics seems to be enabled then anyway (it's checked in Settings), but when I want to open the Enpass to get the password for any app/webpage, I need to also enter my Master password, as mentioned previously. As for a troubleshooting steps, I tried Erase everything option from Settings, as well as reinstall Enpass app. I'm currently using Enpass version 6.6.6.490 on a Pixel 4a with latest Android 11 (June 2021 security patches).
  4. I use enpass a lot, but my password is quite long and takes ages to enter. Both mobile apps allow for biometric unlocks thanks to their respective TPM modules. I would like to take advantage of that since there is no biometric authentication for the Desktop app. First you would link the two devices through a shared secret (prefereably QR-encoded). After that the Desktop app would be able to receive the password encrypted with the shared secret via the local network. The Desktop app then decrypt the vault as usual. Voila: Biometric unlocks for the Desktop app. When properly encrypting the password, this approach shouldn‘t be vulnerable. If you have access to the screen and keyboard/mouse to view the passwords you already have physical access to a machine, enabling more meaningful attacks. The specifics are up to you. I‘ve been really happy with your additions and I think you could implement this is a save and easy to use way.
  5. Please add an option for user to select the bio-metrics to be used instead of password, currently enpass deciding/enforcing it. ios is straight with 1 bio-metrics, but in android we have options - fingerprint, face-unlock, iris, so let the user decide their preference. eg. POCO F1 has face-unlock(IR) & enpass is restricting the use of it, by enforcing the use of finger-print alone.
  6. Can we integrate the PC/Desktop app to use Windows Hello as a login option just as the iPhone app uses TouchiD/FaceiD? I have a laptop, iPhone, and Microsoft Surface Tablet and it would be great if the user experience could be similar across all platforms. This request was being worked on since last year and I am surprised that the MS Store App version of Enpass is NOT updated to use the Windows Hello feature since they promised to include this functionality in a newer version of the app.....! Here's the link:
  7. I would be awesome to have the desktop app authenticate via my smartphone biometrics, just like the Google popup that asks me if I want to sign into gmail or so. Since I use many computers daily, most of which are desktop computers or are old and have thus no built in biometrics, I have to type in my pin repeatedly. Thus I kind of shy away from a nice long pin. It would be really handy to use the biometrics in my smartphone for that. This feature has been requested before but closed due to a lack of interest here Old feature request, I want to resurface this maybe the time is ripe :). I know that this represents an engeneering challenge to not compromise security but it would be a quality of life enhancement nontheless :). Thanks
