ruza Posted July 24, 2024 Report Posted July 24, 2024 Is there a way how to fill password into a browser extension like Alby? Webform doesn't seemed to be supported. Having an Enpass record with URL=chrome-extension://iokeahhehimjnekafflcihljlcjccdbe doesn't sememd to work.
Amandeep Kumar Posted July 30, 2024 Report Posted July 30, 2024 To help us investigate the issue, please provide the following details: Enpass and OS version of your machine. Enpass extension version. If there is a specific URL where this issue is occurring. Share a screen recording of the issue, as it will help us better understand the problem. Feel free to let me know if you have any specific details or questions you'd like to discuss.
ruza Posted July 30, 2024 Author Report Posted July 30, 2024 I dont think it has any relations to the specific versions. Much more likely is a general problem. Fedora Linux 40: Brave browser - Version 1.67.123 Chromium: 126.0.6478.126 (Official Build) (64-bit) + Alby 3.9.0 Windows 11: Brave browser - Version 1.68.131 Chromium: 127.0.6533.73 (Official Build) (64-bit) + Alby 3.9.0 URL is the internal browser URL for the Alby extension which is chrome-extension://iokeahhehimjnekafflcihljlcjccdbe
Amandeep Kumar Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 Thank you for sharing the details and your efforts in providing information. I've reported this issue to the Enpass technical team. They are currently investigating it, and I will reach out to you with updates as soon as I receive them. Thank you for your patience, and feel free to provide any additional feedback. #SI-3925
Amandeep Kumar Posted August 6, 2024 Report Posted August 6, 2024 Currently, Enpass does not provide a feature where the app can autofill in Chrome extensions or other popups on the screen. The autofill framework works within browser tabs but not in extensions.
ruza Posted August 8, 2024 Author Report Posted August 8, 2024 Thanks for the response. Does this mean inter-extension communication is blocked in the browser by design and it's impossible to use some inter-extension messaging mechanism?
Amandeep Kumar Posted August 30, 2024 Report Posted August 30, 2024 Currently, we do not support autofill in the extension due to security and privacy concerns, as it would require data handling from both the extension and the application sides.
