Enpass on Linux
Discuss usage, distro support, and everything Enpass-related with the Enpass's Linux community here.

  1. I have been using Enpass for a little while and last week I upgraded to the latest version. After upgrading my system shows two Enpass apps installed in the application list and when I open up the program, two Enpass icons show up on the Launcher. I then uninstalled and rebooted my machine. Enpass was gone. I re-installed the application using the instructions linked below and the same thing happened. It was not like this before I upgraded to the latest version. Is something wrong here or is it supposed to act like this? Install instructions used from here: https://www.enpass.io/kb/how-to-install-on-linux/

  2. Hi, I'm getting a segfault with Argentos (Arch Linux) with Gnome 3. Enpass is installed through the AUR package enpass-bin. Also the menu's aren't drawn correctly, I can navigate through the menu's with my keyboard but it's not shown on screen. If I run it from console I get: $ /opt/Enpass/bin/runenpass.sh libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile QLayout: Attempting to add QLayout "" to QPasswordEdit "", which already has a layout libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile qt.netw…

  3. Installed enpass on KDE Neon and am having trouble unlocking enpass. The weird thing is that if I type the master password directly in the unlock window it won''t accept it, but if I type it on kwrite and copy it over it will accept the password... weird.

On Cinnamon and KDE DE (both running on Fedora 24) whenever I have a notification (any notification), if I click this notification Enpass goes to foreground. Are you aware of this issue? This is very annoying to be honest. Enpass version is 5.3

fprint is the opensource framework for fingerprint readers to work with linux. The Linux Pluggable Authentication Modules (PAM) provide a framework for system-wide user authentication. By supporting PAM, you could easily support fprint, unlock at login, and more. http://www.linux-pam.org/

  6. Hello, I'm having two problems with Enpass 5.4.1 on a new Gentoo Linux / KDE Plasma 5 system. The initial installation works fine and I can sync and open my wallet without issue. However, the first problem is that I cannot get a connection to any browser. I've tried Firefox, Chromium, and Vivaldi, with the plugin installed from their respective official sites, and they all give the Enpass connection error page. The only similar thread reporting this problem here is this one, and they mentioned that starting Enpass first, and then the browser, worked for them, however it doesn't work for me in this case. The second problem is that after a reboot, the Enpass …

  8. Hello community, after updating to 5.2, the main window and all dialogs were really large, everything was scaled up. I assumed that somehow HiDPI scaling was enabled, but my laptop monitor is 1920x1080 with 96 DPI. So I added export QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0 to runenpass.sh to force Qt to disable HiDPI support, and the problem was resolved. I don't have this problem with other Qt 5 applications and on another computer with the same screen resolution Enpass 5.2 is running fine without the workaround. Both computers are running Fedora 23 with GNOME 3.18. Did you guys changed something regarding HiDPI in the latest release? I'm really confused why this b…

  9. As seen in the screenshot, I don't have a close button for the application. I think I had the close button in Gnome, but cant seem to find it now. Arch Linux Cinnamon 3.2.8-1 Enpass 5.4.1-1

  10. I didn't see a public facing bug/issue tracker, so I'm assuming everything should be entered here. If there is a better/preferred reporting method, sorry for not spotting it; please let me know. enpass debian 5.4.1 still has '.DS_Store' files from 2015 (which shouldn't be packaged at all) ls -lh $(dpkg-query -L enpass |egrep 'DS_Store') -rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 6.1K Apr 23 2015 /usr/share/icons/hicolor/128x128/apps/.DS_Store -rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 6.1K Apr 23 2015 /usr/share/icons/hicolor/128x128/.DS_Store -rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 6.1K Apr 23 2015 /usr/share/icons/hicolor/16x16/apps/.DS_Store -rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 6.1K Apr 23 2015 /usr/share/icons/hicolor/1…

  11. Hello, the Linux installer contains unnecessary .DS_Store files, which are created by the Finder on OS X to store icon position etc. You can find them using: find ~/.local -name ".DS_Store" I think you can't prevent Finder to create these files, but you could exclude those files from your VCS so they can't accidently be commited again.

  12. I'm having issues syncing with any of the sync providers on app version 5.4.1 and 5.5-BETA on Fedora 25. I am able to launch the browser and authenticate, but the desktop app says that it is unable to connect to the internet. I can try and curl or WGET the URL prefilled in the browser after authentication, and the connection is refused on this port. I have my firewall, iptables, and selinux disabled and it doesn't make a difference. I can provide any additional logs or information if needed, but I cannot find anything pertinent on my own.

Hi folks, I'm a mostly happy EP user on Linux and android. Updating the desktop app is nearly not possible, since there is no possibility to start the maintenance tool from the app. Do you think about a way to start the update process manually from inside the app? Or to provide a rpm? *hint* *hint* Nice work, bye andre

  15. Hi, database migrated from KeepassX, can access it with my passphrase. When logging in, enpass is either started from start menu or when restoring previous session (tried both constellations). When I enter my passphrase, it is stated as wrong. When killing enpass and restarting it, I can enter my passphrase and it unlocks the DB as expected Any idea why the enpass that's started upon user login is not able to open the DB ? Many thanks

  16. As reported by our users Enpass 5.2 on Arch Linux is crashing on start. This is due to change in which we prefer to use system bundled version of OpenSSL instead of our own. But OpenSSL installation in archlinux is missing a required function. Please execute following command use bundled version of OpenSSL instead. $ ln  <your-enpass-install-dir>/libs/libssl.so.1.0.0 <your-enpass-install-dir>/libs/libssl.so

  18. Hi, since the last update to v5.2 I notice sometimes high CPU usage caused by Enpass. This stops only if I kill the Enpass process completely. Has anyone else even this behavior? I've been trying to figure out how to write an exception in firejail to let Enpass work inside the sandbox. It was working then it stopped. It just started working again though I'm not sure why. Ahhh, it no longer works with 'noroot' set in firejail, fine without that setting.

  24. Hi there, I use Enpass on Arch linux with GNOME shell and I have the following issues: When I activate the system tray and autostart options, the next time I start the computer the system tray icon is not show (I have to manually uncheck and check it again) AND the autostart option gets unchecked, so the second time, it would not start automatically. Environment: AntergOS (Arch) GNOME Shell 3.22 XOrg Enpass 5.3.0 Any idea why? Thanks in advance.

  25. Started by Haddock,

I'm having intermittent problems unlocking Enpass. Sometimes it won't recognize the password. When this happens on my (Linux) desktop, it also happens on my Android phone. If I try again after about 30-40 minutes, it works fine. I'm using 5.3.0 on Linux Mint 18 KDE with Dropbox. I'm concerned that it may lock me out completely. Any idea what might be happening?
