Enpass on Linux
Discuss usage, distro support, and everything Enpass-related with the Enpass's Linux community here.

  1. I am researching switching from Windows 7 Home Premium OS to a Linux OS. I plan to copy my user desktop files and folders to an external drive. Then move everything into the Linux OS. If I install Enpass in Linux and then restore an Enpass backup file from the Win7 system, will it import all my Enpass data into the Linux Enpass program? Would using an export file to CSV work as well or better? Linux OS I am thinking of trying are: Linux Mint-Cinnamon / Zorin core or ultimate / Manajro XFCE / Ubuntu

Is there a way to get an Enpass 6 version of the installer for Linux? I am using Fedora Silverblue and even though you can install RPMs there is (still) an issue with installing RPMs that write to /opt (the issue is documented here: https://github.com/projectatomic/rpm-ostree/issues/233). Is it somehow possible to just extract the binary from the rpm (or the deb) and start it like one could run enpass < 6? The better solution (for me and for all Fedora users) would obviously to provide a flatpak but I already read that you are still waiting for the snap/flatpak think to settle. Is that still the case? Unfortunately it seems that this broke my sync setup as En…

  3. Hi, I'm running enpass using dell xps 13 with a 4k monitor. My OS is Solus Linux. Even if I set scaling to 300% the enpass UI still looks super tiny when using a high resolution display.

It fails in that nothing gets saved. I have tried to save both as .txt and .csv files, I give it a name, it gives the impression that the file has been saved, yet when I go into the folder specified (yes I checked it's the correct folder) there's nothing there!

  10. It is a nightmare since I get the version 6.0.x of enpass. I lost a lot of time to make it run on Ubuntu. 1) I had a segmentation fault if Enpass is not ran as root. Solution was to create a script to initialize some envirronment variables (see bashScript.png, solution found on this forum in several threads). 2) To be able to sync I also had to update the desktop shortcut in /usr/share/applications/enpass.desktop. During the synchronisation, the default internet browser is started and ask for a connexion to dropbox in order to autorise enpass access. if the desktop shorcut is not correct, the browser fails to run "reconnect" to enpass and sta…

  11. I believe my sync problem on Gdrive is due to two Primary vaults with different names stored on my Gdrive File A for Windows system & File B for Linux drive. I like to merge them into one account so any changes on one computer - automatically will synchronize on another computer. Any suggestion, please.?

  13. Hi, today, I've tried to login to a website as usual by using the browser-extension of enpass. As this was not working, I checked the Add-On-Page of my browser and saw an errormessage, that the extension "could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled". The suggested fix was to remove the extension and install a new version. When I try to install Version 6.0.2 of the browser extension, I get the error, that "The add-on downloaded from this site could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt". I'm using Firefox Version 66.0.3 (64-bit) on a KUbuntu 16.04 with recent updates and Enpass 6.0.6 (323). Has anyone any suggestions what …

First of all, Enpass is an awesome application, password manager. Some specs: Enpass version: 6.0.6 (323); Linux Distro #1: LinuxMint 19.1 'Tessa' Linux Distro #2: Pop!_OS 19.04 However recently, it shows strange behaviour, on both mentioned distros. When 'killing' the Enpass application through the Task Manager, and restarting the Enpass application there are no probs. But, Enpass keeps asking to select 'I am a new User' or 'Restore from' after a full reboot of my laptop. See the attached image. This is annoying. Anyone knows a solution for this behaviour? Thanks in advance.

  15. Hello, I use Enpass under Ubuntu 18.04 with the sway window manager (=i3 for wayland) and 'focus follows mouse' and the Enpass window keeps on disappearing on me when I move the mouse. This is annoying when lookup up passwords but disastrous when creating new ones, since that window appears at the top right corner and I can't get the mouse there without it disappearing. This behavior stops when I disable focus_follows_mouse but that's just an annoying work around. Can't find anything in the options to stop this behavior.

Using Linux Mint 19 - and Latest version of enpass. Everything was working fine until I did a sync on my primary vault (maybe a stupid move). Sync failed and error. Data wouldn't show up, but counters would show how much data there was in category. I exited and password wouldn't work any longer. I have purged - uninstalled - timeshifted reinstalled every time and tried to use password on a backup - no workie, enpass will not create a new user primary vault either. All files seem to be there, but no database. It is remembering too much and I don't know where to clean out the old stuff. I know it remembering because I had moved my vault to a new location and it is usi…

Dear support team, after my ticket updates seemingly remained unanswered I would like to remind u about it: it is STILL not working. Whenever I try to launch it from the application launcher (w or without shortcut) it fails to do see (see my other post about it). It was recommended to upgrade to the most recent version of my OS and Enpass 6.0.4 and curl is installed. What can be done ? See https://discussion.enpass.io/index.php?/topic/5245-launching-enpass/ for my old post.for

  18. Hi, I have an Arch/AntergOS Linux that I installed yesterday and when I try to start enpass I get this error : fish: 'enpass' terminated by signal SIGSEGV (Adressbereichsfehler) fish: 'enpass' terminated by signal SIGSEGV (address range error) I don't know why. Someone any ideas? How can I troubleshoot such an error? Regards, Rinma

  19. I get it, clearing the password off the clipboard is a good thing. But EnPass clears out *anything else* I have on the clipboard (which was *not* put there by EnPass) too if I don't use it within a short time. In practice this means I can not have Enpass just running, I need to shut it down after using it so my clipboard remains usable.

  20. Hello, Thanks for this awesome app, I love it!!! Unfortunately, since version 6.x, sync with Google drive doesn't work. In Enpas, I click on "configure sync" in parameters, then "Google drive", then it opens a page in Firefox "Enpass would like to: Have offline access", I click on "Allow", it seems to confirm for a second, but immediately redirects to the url "enpassauth://googledrive/?scope=https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata&state=security_token_sinew&code=***************" (code hidden by me), which creates an error in Firefox "the url have not been recognized". Hi, the location of my database has moved from one WebDAV location to another. How can I make the Desktop app sync with the new location? When I start the app (enpass-bin 6.0.3.263-1) I am asked the master password and the response is "incorrect password" even though in reality the password is correct but database is just not there anymore. I cannot reach any options menu for selecting a different database. So I removed the user config files, re-installed and rebooted. This made Enpass aware that the configuration files were gone and I was able to select the moved database.
