Do Enpass keep all of its attachments in its vault folder?

Hi, I am trying out enpass lite the portable version and I notice that if I have an attachment, the attachment (in its enscripted form) will automatically be downloaded to the vault folder everytime enpass syncs with the cloud. So if I go into the folder and manually delete these files, enpass will download them there again. I am wondering why because I think if someone has a lot of attachments, then it's a lot of downloading and taking up disc's space. Shouldn't enpass only download the attachments from the cloud only if the user needs them?
