Brukasmj Posted September 27, 2022 Report Posted September 27, 2022 I am just adding many records for logins on many websites. For these websites i am using one domain account. Instead of adding logins for each website containing accoung and password, i am only creating a records for the website > https://first1, https://second1, etc But i don't want to add the user and password information over and over again as this is the same for each site. I simply don't want to change these records when i am changing the password. I only should change it for the domain record, not for the other ones. Can i link it or other suggestions ? thanks
Ivarson Posted September 28, 2022 Report Posted September 28, 2022 Don't know if I get you fully, but if you're having many sites on the intranet that you want want to have a shared item for, there "should" be two ways. 1. If the internal sites share the same domain, then just add use the domain in the URL-field. Enpass should check for and use the item with URL "internal.local" if you're on the site "sales.intranet.local" 2. You can always add additional fields of type "URL" to an item, and hence have unlimited amount of associated URLs for an item but only one set of creds. 1
Abhishek Dewan Posted September 28, 2022 Report Posted September 28, 2022 Hi @Brukasmj Welcome to the Enpass Forums. Adding to what @Ivarson said, for security reasons we also recommend keeping your Items segregated and ensuring that all of your Items have a unique and strong password. Keeping a different password for your Items greatly enhances the security of your logins, as weak and stolen passwords are the main causes of data breaches. Even strong passwords become vulnerable if they are reused for multiple accounts. We also have a very handy Password generator tool built into our app, which you can utilize for creating strong and unique passwords for all your Items! Please refer to this link to know more about using the Password generator.

My interpretation was that since he said "one domain account", he was referring to sites using LDAP/Active Directory behind the scenes. If that was the case, there's only single identity used to login, and to avoid unnecessary duplicates of the same Domain credential for; https://first1.internal.local https://second.internal.local https://third.internal.local he could evaluate the forementioned options.. If a shared identity provider isn't utilized here, ofc. unique passwords are desireable.
RonG Posted February 14, 2023 Report Posted February 14, 2023 (edited) "You can always add additional fields of type "URL" to an item, and hence have unlimited amount of associated URLs for an item but only one set of creds." This works like a charm when using Identity Managers like Red Hat IdM. I can now use my IdM login for multiple different websites (i.e. IdM, Satellite, Gitlab, etc.), without creating multiple Enpass cards (which flag as "Identical Password" items).
