USB Fingerprint Sensor

Featured Replies

Hi all, with the latest update passkeys have been introduced, with enpass is it possible to use a fingerprint sensor instead of the master password?

If yes can you recommend me a good usb compatible with windows 11 ?

Thanks

Enpass already supports Windows Hello (PIN, Fingerprint, Face via Webcam), so I guess you just need one to work with Windows Hello.

Ok is it safe to use Windows Hello ? do you have any particular model to recommend ?

I use Windwos Hello on an everyday basis at work - multiple other companies do it aswell, so I would suggest it is safe. As for a model, I can not recommend any, as I use the build-in from my laptop.

Hi @sixdas

As mentioned by @AnakinCaesar, Enpass supports unlocking the app by various methods like PIN, biometrics, Windows hello, touch ID, etc. As for the security with Windows hello, as soon as you enable Windows Hello on a supported device, we create Windows Hello authenticated Enpass specific cryptographic keys in TPM and encrypt your master password using those keys and store in App’s private area on-device storage. This solution is highly secure because your master password is accessible for use, only after it gets decrypted using the same keys stored in the TPM of your device. And those keys can only be retrieved when you authenticate Enpass with Windows Hello.
