Feature requests

Tell us here what features you would like to see in upcoming releases of Enpass.

  1. Moving from 1Password, and so far, really, the only thing I think I am missing is the quick copy-to-clipboard feature... When in either a browser-extension or the main app, I find the entry I want. When I am using 1Password I can use a keyboard shortcut to then copy the password of the current entry to the clipboard and it dismissed 1Password leaving me ready to paste it into the current application, system-wide. I use this all the time for ssh logins and web pages as well. Is it here somewhere that I just can't find? If not, please consider adding it.

I would love to see another field, namely a checkbox field, so automatically letting Enpass check a checkbox when logging on. Or unchecking a checkbox, for instance, to disable an option like 'keep me logged on', as several websites automatically check such a checkbox, which I don't like, because for easily logging on I am using a password manager, so such a checkbox makes it less secure, even if it's my own, non-shared computer.

  3. Every time when I create a new item in enpass I have to enter my username and my mailadress manually. Normally i use up to 5 different usernames and mailadresses over the most of my accounts. So, it would be easier if I could choose out of a list of my usernames or mailadresses when I select one of the elements. - the list could be created automatically out of the previous stored items. - or the different usernames and mailadresses has to be stored once in the enpass-settings I posted this idea more than two years ago. But I cant see any progress in implementation. So, any news about this tiny but very useful topic? Best wishes pitman

While the attachment feature is extremely useful, being restricted to only adding one file at a time is very inconvenient. For example, I would like to be able to store private keys, CSRs, etc in my vault, but there are many of these files and adding them one by one is a nightmare. Especially when I am trying to import my 1password database and already accumulated dozens of these.

  5. When the browser extension pops-up to save a new login... I would like to assign the category/folder (tagging would be nice too) Currently the browser extension will prompt to save a new login, I save the login, then I go to the desktop app, search for the new login, then assign the category/folder for organization. Thanks.

It would be great if we could get multi-factor authentication when entering in the master password, especially since most users are syncing with an online file repository of some type.

It would be great if Fingerprint GUI on Linux computers could be used to open Enpass.

One thing I love about enpass is that is generates passwords similar to diceware. One thing that i feel that it needs to enhance it would be add a special character slider and to include how many specials you want in your password like there is under the standard password generator . Unfortunately, as most locations still require special characters, uppercase, numbers and standard characters, true diceware style passwords with just five or six words still get tossed back as requiring these other characters. Once people embrace passphrases without the need of special characters, those settings can be tailored by us under those settings by changing settings or turning of…

So this might be a bit controversial but my encrypted store password is quite long and complex and while i remember how to type it on my keyboard, trying to type it on a mobile phone is not possible. On mobile however it has fingerprint lock and therefore it would be nice to not need to re-enter the long complex password all the time as the minimum is (phone reboots/month etc)

  10. Today I tried the beta of v6 and I use Enpass with two vaults and two browsers at the same time (work and personal). It'd be great if the browser extension (firefox in my case) would remember which vault I chose last (or if I could set a vault as default), that would speed up my workflow. Also another small thing: it'd would be great to have an option to disable the animations in v6, which slow down on not so fast computers. Great work on the beta btw, I enjoy it very much.

I would like a feature to auto login (autofill and enter automatically). I'm using Enpass Beta, but Enpass' autosubmit login need to choose my site. I think it's better Enpass detects saved website and autofill and submit at one time (like Lastpass).

  12. I am using the Enpass 5.6 on Mac. I store the enpass files in OneDrive. I have enabled two-step verification for my OneDrive account and now I need to re-login every time i want to SYNCHRONIZE, becasuse I cannot use the fallback option (app password) since the login method used by enpass relies on the browser. The problem comes from the fact that the login method used for loggin to OneDrive does not support APP PASSWORD. Le me know if it is ever gonna be fixed in future /future versions. thanks

Hi, i have organized my passwords in Folders. It would be nice, if i could choose or create a folder when Browserplugin saves a password for me ... it's hard to find later. Or is there the ability an I'm doing something wrong? Moreover there is maybe a bug. Sometimes I'm saving a password to a newly created and selected Folder and Enpass will save it to the previous selected folder too - linked twice - in two folders then. Thanks. tonzen

I'd love the option to disable "Enpass" from appearing in the context menus of browser extensions (chrome). Most extensions offer this option. I'd love to see this added to the enpass options page.

  15. Internet banking here in Brazil usually need two fields to identify a user (plus a password): Agency Number and Account Number. I would like Enpass to fill all of those fields. It currently fills only the Account Number and password, without the other number I need.

    1. New password generator should show with auto fill option. And able to update the login details with enpass 2. Some bank website have secondary password and does not allow to copy paste the password. So need an option to auto fill the secondary password as same as the first one in a single click.

I have credentials that changes in the Active Directory every 3 months (this is security policy in our company). Also I've many saved in Enpass items with the same login and password combinations. And every 3 months I change the passwords for every item. I propose next - I want to use a password profiles. For example. I add a new item named as "Password profile" or like this, and add there my login and password. Next, I create new item and add url, phone number, TOTP ect. And I do not add my login and password - I just add the new field named "Password profile" and select from drop-down list my password profile named as "My Active Directory cred.". After save it and …

Hello Enpass Team, is it possible to implement a "stay on top" option in Enpass so that the window is visible all the time? At the moment it happens quite often that I cannot copy fields directly from Enpass into the clipboard because the Enpass window is hidden by another application windows. The Enpass browser extension works great but solves this issue only for logins which take place inside a browser window which is not always the case. This is a feature which I really miss compared to my former password manager. It's fantastic that Enpass is available for so many operating systems including Linux!

  20. Hello Enpass, I think this is a super important feature to add to Enpass, and this should actually be added ASAP. Pwned v1 has been around for years and v2 was released by Troy Hunt just last week. Within 27 HOURS 1Password already added support. Can Enpass add this feature? I hope this can be turned around within a week or so if 1Password can do it this fast I have all the confidence that Enpass developers are able to make this happen. https://www.troyhunt.com/ive-just-launched-pwned-passwords-version-2/ https://www.troyhunt.com/i-wanna-go-fast-why-searching-through-500m-pwned-passwords-is-so-quick/ https://blog.agilebits.com/2018/02/22/finding…

  21. I like to change my passwords regularly. One of the problems I find is that some websites have very different rules for the passwords. Including length, special characters to exclude, character class to include etc... Some websites require special chars but don't like certain characters like <>& for some reason. There is no way to specify complex password rules in enpass at the moment. Can you guys add the following features into the product Support for extended ascii chars like √˚∂å etc... for stronger passwords. Allow users to create and save password rules Rule to include character class or specific characters Rule to exclu…

Hi, I use a lot of alias as email addresses. Some providers call that a disposable address, or secondary address or alternate address or ...alias Alias is really a good thing for security: you can have a unique pair id/password for each website/service,... I can't find a good way to record alias in Enpass. No field type is ok and I my only choice is to write them in the Note field. It's a poorly solution because it's possible to have a lot of aliases (for some providers max of aliases is up to 500 ) and it's not possible to hide Note... Ideally I want to record each alias per line as <email>,<displayed name>,<description>. M…

Imagine a scenario where you are forced to disclose your enpass password / use your fingerprint to unlock the app. This this case you could do one of two things: 1) Use a panic password, which would open enpass and show a set of fake details, or hide really sensitive details (these would need to be defined. 2) Use a self-destruct code, which would destroy the database file contents / overwrite the database file.

  24. Started by Gen.BC.Carver,

It would be a great idea to sign the Enpass installer, a least with SHA 256 and - ideally - with GnuPGP. For Mac and iOS device, the installer can be downloaded from Apple's app store. Ok, that is relatively secure. But Mac and other OS users can download installer directly from the site (and that is a good thing for Mac's users)... And we known all some softs' s installer that have been modified by hacker. If famous open source softs have been compromised, Enpass is really exposed to hacker (and TLA). So please, it's so simple and fast to sign with GnuPG.

Hi, I would like if its possible to hide all enpass icons on my os. Actually you can only hide it in the menubar or in the dock. But I use enpass only from my shortcut or autofill. Cheers
