October 17, 20223 yr Hi, I'm using Enpass on iPhone and Windows 10. Both are synced via NextCloud. To increase the security I would like to add a key-file. Is it possible at all, to add a key file to an existing tresor? If not, how can I copy all my data to a new tresor that is based on a key-file? Thanks, Thorsten
October 18, 20223 yr Hi @thowa For an additional layer of security when unlocking Enpass, you can create a Keyfile on your computer, which can then be added to your mobile devices by scanning a QR code that will appear on your computer screen. Please refer to this link on how to do so.
October 21, 20223 yr Author Hi Abhishek, My question is, how can I move the existing passwords from a vault that is not protected by a key file to a new vault, that is protected by a keyfile. Or, can I increase the security be enhancing my existing vault (which is currently not protected by keyfile) with a keyfile afterwards? Thanks, Thorsten
October 27, 20223 yr Hi @thowa I completely understand your point. Adding a Keyfile to an already existing vault - Your computer can create a Keyfile that can be added to your mobile device with the help of a QR code that appears on your screen. Kindly refer to the steps in this link to add Keyfile to an already existing Vault. Moving Items from a vault without a keyfile to a vault secured with a keyfile - This can be achieved by exporting your vault in .json format (Enpass Desktop app Menu (Hamburger Icon) -> File -> Export) which isn't protected by a keyfile and then importing the data (Enpass Desktop app Menu (Hamburger Icon) -> File -> Import) in the vault which is protected by the keyfile.
