Feature requests

Tell us here what features you would like to see in upcoming releases of Enpass.

  1. Enpass on desktops should be split into two separate programs: EnpassCore.exe: This executable file constitutes the core Enpass service that browser plugins communicate with. It should have no window-based-UI whatsoever. This is also what users (and/or the installer) would add to the boot sequence. On boot, adding an icon to the tray (on Windows) or the menu bar (on OSX) would be the only clue it is running. EnpassUI.exe: This executable file constitutes the windowed UI. If EnpassCore isn't running, launching the EnpassUI would automatically launch EnpassCore as well. From any browser plugin, EnpassUI should never be more than a single click away. Benefits…

Hi there. I'm trialling Enpass as a user from another popular password manager. One missing feature I enjoy is an auto-type feature. How it would ideally work: I am playing a video game or using a native app requires me to login using credentials from their website. (For example, Twitter's Windows 10 app). At the login screen for the native app/video game, I switch to Enpass, find the credentials I want to login with, and press the Auto-Type button. Enpass prompts me to pick a window to type it into, defaulting to the last selected window. After confirming the window to type the password into, Enpass switches to the window, does it's best t…

Wish I can simply open the UI by clicking on the tray icon. But instead I have to right-click tray icon, click Restore, click a down arrow, then click Show Enpass. Too many nested clicks!

Good Morning, I know a few of us are using OwnCloud or NextCloud to host our password bank, it would be amazing if there was an OwnCloud/NextCloud Enpass Application to allow us to access our password bank without the need to install any software. This would be ideal for users who cannot install software (such as in a "High Security" Corporate Setup) or to those who are not using a computer they control. I know someone ported KeyPass's Keyweb to an OwnCloud app and it works, but not well enough to be my default password manager.

Hey, I've started using Enpass some months ago and I absolutely love it! I switched from LastPass and Enpass is so much better! They only significant problem I have with Enpass is the URL detection, which is quite weak to be honest. I would love to see future improvements where the URL detection consider the port, subdomain and folder. For example my homeserver has multiple websites on different ports, but Enpass shows me anywhere every single password item. Thanks.

  7. Hi, I have been testing Enpass on ios and osx and am really impressed. I am ready to switch from my current password manager I would like to make a feature request that I find really helpful with my existing ios password manager (pwsafe). Its a 'smart' clipboard feature that allows fast entering of password and username into another app and it works like this. User case: When I need to copy both the password and username to paste into another ios app (not safari). How it works in pwsafe: Open pwsafe app select password to copy go to other app (ex. paypal app) paste password flip phone upside down and the usernam…

I want to change the the password Manager - do not agree with the license model from 1Password. But with the amount of Data it's not possible so easy, would be nice to see an import function in enpass.

Howdy. Long time user of KeePass and PasswordSafe here. I recently found Enpass and LOVE it! But there is one feature I am very much missing in Enpass. Are there any plans to implement field references to enable central management of Single Sign-On / shared accounts? Similar to this perhaps? http://keepass.info/help/base/fieldrefs.html Two usage examples from my old KeePass and PasswordSafe databases: 1. Microsoft Account I have a "Microsoft Account" entry in an "Identities" folder which stores my Microsoft username and password. Then I have entries in my "Internet" folder for OneDrive, Outlook Webmail, and various SharePoint sites that set field refer…

  10. I just switched to Enpass, love it so far... But I am missing a feature. It would be very nice to have Cmd-C (Ctrl-C) copy the password for the currently selected login. So it could be very fast to get a particular password: Cmd-F, enter search term, press up/down to the appropriate entry, Cmd-C. Thanks!

  11. Some sites have rules on which special characters can be used in their password. They also require special character in the password. I don't see a way to select which characters are used, so I have to keep refreshing until I get an acceptable password or use another generator.

  12. I lost all my data because I lost accidentally the password. I could still use fingerprint to enter the app in android but I could not change the password without knowing old password.

  13. I need this to get rid of annoying login via password.

It would be nice to be able to export entries that are assigned to the specified folder only. I have many items for my clients separated by folders - sometimes they want to send them exported passwords. I know I could create separate vaults for clients, but till enpass will support multiple opened vaults - it is more convenient to keep passwords in the one, my master vault. Regards

Hi, i am switching from 1password to enpass, in 1password i can fill a form and save it whithout sending it, it is important for me because there are some sites that prevent software like enpass or 1password to retrieve data when sending it, this type of forms can be saved to 1password by clicking save new login button and it works perfect but it cannot be done in enpass, can you consider this feature?

For people who have a small number of saved passwords (maybe even few enough to fit on a single screen), it doesn't make much sense to have them grouped alphabetically.

Really like the ability to RE-login to Enpass using Windows Hello once it's running in the background, but will we eventually have the ability to launch Enpass with Windows Hello and not have to enter our Master Passwords?

It would by nice to have a System wide shortcut like 1Password Mini to quick access enpass in every situation. I would also by nice to full controll the enpass "Mini" by keyboard.

  20. Every time when I create a new item in enpass I have to enter my username and my mailadress manually. Normally i use up to 5 different usernames and mailadresses over the most of my accounts. So, it would be easier if I could choose out of a list of my usernames or mailadresses when I select one of the elements. - the list could be created automatically out of the previous stored items. - or the different usernames and mailadresses has to be stored once in the enpass-settings Best wishes pitman

Hi, I'm well aware, that you guys can't support every browser and every platform. Is there a possibility to query the database while it is unlocked? I think qutebrowser.org would be a low hanging fruit to implement auto-fill with a few lines of python. Rgds Silvester

In IOS the dolphin browser is used very often. Couldn't you create a plugin for that too? Up to now, there is only a plugin for the safari browser, which is a pity.

  23. Started by Giovanni,

Last year the Enpass team already talked about releasing favicons / custom icons. Now it's already a year later and we still don't have it. Enpass is absolutely my favorite password manager, but my only gripe with Enpass compared to 1password or LastPass is that this feature is missing. Is this feature still planned or will I be left waiting?

  24. Especially useful in creating custom templates, where a field only has a few logical responses. I would love to create my own dropdown choices for: WiFi security protocols (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc.); user account types (Admin, Regular, Parental Controlled); and... so many more than I can think of right now... In sharing my custom Enpass templates with clients - even when populating fields with sample data - I'm still finding that some users inexplicably enter toe most nonsensical data in some of the strangest places. This feature would go a long way to eliminating that, I believe. Thank you again for all your hard work on this wonderful program. I sing your pr…

I would suggest that you can use your own wordlist. As a danish native speaker it is much easier for me to remember and type danish words, than english.
