Enpass on Linux
Discuss usage, distro support, and everything Enpass-related with the Enpass's Linux community here.

  1. When I try to setup the sync through google drive (which was working fine on version 5) I get the step of authorizing your app. Then the xdg-open opens enpass but a new window and the first window stay always in the state of waiting for authorization process to be complete. I attach a gif to better explain the issue

  4. Hi, since the last update to v5.2 I notice sometimes high CPU usage caused by Enpass. This stops only if I kill the Enpass process completely. Has anyone else even this behavior? System: MSI GS30 Laptop CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4870HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz Chrome (v50.0.2661.94) with Enpass extension ownCloud sync enabled (ownCloud 7.0.1) Ubuntu 14.04 with GNOME desktop

  5. Hello community, after updating to 5.2, the main window and all dialogs were really large, everything was scaled up. I assumed that somehow HiDPI scaling was enabled, but my laptop monitor is 1920x1080 with 96 DPI. So I added export QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0 to runenpass.sh to force Qt to disable HiDPI support, and the problem was resolved. I don't have this problem with other Qt 5 applications and on another computer with the same screen resolution Enpass 5.2 is running fine without the workaround. Both computers are running Fedora 23 with GNOME 3.18. Did you guys changed something regarding HiDPI in the latest release? I'm really confused why this b…

Using both Firefox and/or Chrome on Pop!_OS, an Ubuntu derivative. Have UFW disabled. The extensions are unable to connect to Enpass, which is running. Enpass Assistant is unable to connect with the Enpass app. The logs are super unhelpful: 2/4/2024, 12:58:35 PM : Got Error 2/4/2024, 12:59:30 PM : Got Error 2/4/2024, 1:00:38 PM : Got Error 2/4/2024, 1:01:01 PM : Got Error 2/4/2024, 1:02:40 PM : Got Error When I do try to connect the extension to the app the app does open and prompt me for a password. 10. Hello, I'm using Enpass on Android and SuSE Tumbleweed (Desktop). Until recently access to the Enpass repository (https://yum.enpass.io/stable/x86_64/) worked fine. But now I'm getting an error "Permission denied". I removed the repository and followed the instructions on https://support.enpass.io/app/getting_started/installing_enpass.htm to set it up again (including downloading and installing the key again), but the problem persists. Configuration of repository: # | Alias | Name | Enabled | GPG Check | Refresh | Priority | Type | URI …

  11. I have been using Enpass on my Debian 8 workstation since the days of version 5. My desktop environment is KDE 4.14.2. They are still getting LTS updates, and I run updates regularly. When Enpass upgraded to 6.4.0.631, it failed to launch. When I tried launching it in my terminal, I got: /opt/enpass/Enpass: error while loading shared libraries: libxkbcommon-x11.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory So, I figured I'd install the package to give it what it seems to want now. After I installed libxkbcommon-x11-0 I got this output instead: /opt/enpass/Enpass: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libxkbcommon-x11.so.0: no version information available (…

  12. With Enpass 5.2 the browser extension stopped working (at least on chrome, don't know about FF or others as I don't use them) What I tried so far: 1. Reinstall the extension 2. Disable / Enable the browser extension support within Enpass -> Tools -> Settings What I discovered: Looking at the background.html of the extension while browser support is enabled all I see is Uncaught Error: Malformed UTF-8 data (That's fine as I have that on windows too and the extension works just fine). As soon as I disable browser support within Enpass, the js console screams errors about not being able to connect to the socket. This means, while browser support is …

  13. Hi there, A massive THANK YOU for the release of beta 6.5.0 for Linux. I have documented the excruciating experience I had with the previous version (6.4.1) on stock Ubuntu 20.04, which was crashing up to 20 times a day on me! As soon as I saw news of the 6.5.0 beta, I didn't hesitate one second. The outcome: it's a massive improvement in stability as it only crashes maybe once a day on average; I probably use Enpass 20-30 times a day on my desktop. Still, once a day is not fully satisfactory; thus my queries: Is there any practical way I can help you debug these issues whilst the beta is being finalized? I've been sending those crash reports; you …

  14. I'm using Enpass 6.1.0.407 which is the latest version that works properly for me. Both 6.1.1.451 and 6.2.0.537 tend to lock up or take a very long amount of time (minutes) when searching and displaying an entry. The UI just locks up and it takes quite some time to come back. All issues are gone once I switched back to 6.1.0.407 I'm running Ubuntu Budgie 19.04 on X11. Please advise

  15. Hello, I'm using Enpass without problems on SuSE Tumbleweed Linux, Android 10 and Windows 10. I now tried to install Enpass (v6.4.1.643) on Ubuntu 18.04 (64 Bit). When I try to restore my data from Google Drive Enpass calls Firefox, I log on to Google and give Enpass access to my Google Drive. When I try to redirect back to Enpass I only get an error "-978" in Enpass, see attached screen shot. What's wrong?

  16. The new version (5.2.1) seems to half-support dark themes now, but it's made things worse. I'm using Breeze Dark in KDE Plasma 5 on Arch Linux. Attached screenshot. The extension is similar but I am having trouble getting a screenshot of it (hotkeys don't work when it's showing). Seems as though the middle pane, and some of the text is honouring the system colours, but then other parts aren't.

  19. Hi, I've been using Enpass for at least 5 years (I think) - several platforms and always loved it. About 3 weeks ago it spontaneously stopped running on my desktop, won't launch at all from command line or from the whisker launcher, and the browser plugins don't do anything. Working fine on windows and android. Tried uninstalling & re-installing (twice): https://www.enpass.io/support/kb/general/how-to-install-enpass-on-linux/ :: immediately after install I get taken through the dialogue to restore data from dropbox (the authorisation page failed at first both times which it never has before). Then the next time I try to launch the app it fails as above. …

  21. Hey there, I am running Enpass on Gentoo Linux. Currently version 5.6.9, which was installed by simply downloading it from https://www.enpass.io/downloads/ where a binary or tarball (I honestly can't remember which it was) was available for Linux distributions that were not covered by your install manuals on the website. With the update to version 6, this is no linger the case and the installed client doesn't seem to recognize that there is an update available. Unfortunately the browser extensions already want to have version 6 :-( Now the big question, how do I get this update done?

Hi, an Enpass dialog window came up a few days ago, requesting to give permission to Telegram to access Enpass. I declined the request, obviously and asked about this in a Telegram github issue opened by other user with the same experience. They denied that Telegram can do that and they invited me to ask here. But anyway I'm bit suspicious about this at the moment. Is it possible that Enpass incorrectly detects something as an incoming connection from a plugin? Does Enpass developers have some possible explanation to this? Is there any public documentation about the communication protocol between the plugin and Enpass? I would like to study myself how thi…

  24. Hello, I'm using Firefox 128 on Linux (SuSE Tumbleweed). I noticed problems when the Enpass Browser Extension for Firefox (Version 6.9.4.2) is active. Example: Website https://www.geocaching.com (requires registration) With the extension active I noticed several modifications of the page, some of them make it unusable. Example 1: Left picture: extension enabled, right picture: extension disabled I clicked on the edit button (pencil) to edit the coordinates of a geocache. With the extension enabled nothing happens, when I click the button. With the extension disabled a windows pops up allowing me to enter other coordinates. For some…

  25. Hi, unfortunately Enpass currently doesn't work in Firefox Nightly. This might be expected, but I still wanted to make you aware of the issue. Also starting with Firefox 57, Mozilla will change its add-on technology. All add-ons that are not migrated by the time Firefox 57 releases to the public (November 2017) will stop working. (See also: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-add-technology-modernizing?as=u&utm_source=inproduct) OS: Linux Mint 18.2 (based on Ubuntu 16.04) Browser: Firefox Nightly 57 (2017-08-04) 64-bit Enpass Version: 5.5.6 Enpass Add-On Version: 5.4.3 Kind regards, Sven
