I am disappointed in the lack of communication on this issue, and am seriously considering moving to a different password manager.
Same here, it's not really usable currently. It's a shame that we do not have any word from the developers yet.

I can't sync with Google Drive, keep getting "Something went wrong while restoring from Google Drive. Error code: 56"

Same here, this is broken for ages and Enpass support confirmed working on it month ago. When there will be a fix available?

Thanks for bringing all the stuff up, I am also not exactly happy with the final release. I lost all settings and somehow Android version got out of sync with the rest... but now it's solved.
At least I can answer your question:
The "Enpass" folder in Google Drive is from Enpass 5, Enpass v6 saves in the application space, which is not visible in your user folder structure. -

The newest MacOS-beta (279) version has deleted the option to use the Fav-Icons instead of the build-in icons. Custom icons are still available. I'm on MacOS Mojave.
This is also so in the latest IOS version. Since I don't have access to my Windows system in the moment, I can't verify, if this is also the case for the latest Windows beta.
Same with the Linux build. Version 228 has the FavIcon support removed.

Hi 7Bit,
It is most probably because Enpass is not able to find status theme icons at startup because icon resources are not installed/configured properly. Are you able to use Enpass from Browser extension in this situation? Also, please try latest beta Enpass 6.0.0 (228).
Thanks
I can use it from the browser extension, yes. And same situation with latest 6.0.0 (228).

Hello,
after booting up the system, the enpass icon is missing most of the time in my panel (xfce4-panel 4.12.2). I have to go to the task manager, kill the "enpass -minimize" process and then start Enpass again. Then the icon is showed and I can use Enpass.
Enpass 6.0.0 (214)
OS: Manjaro 18.0.0 Illyria
Kernel: x86_64 Linux 4.19.8-2-MANJARO
DE: Xfce4 (xfce4-panel 4.12.2)
WM: Xfwm4 -
Same here running Ubuntu and Manjaro Linux using latest Beta .149. No connection from Chrome extension possible, Enpass isnt usable currently. I only see a popup saying "Enpass 6 is ready" after it tries to connect to it. But no authentication.
//edit:
It's fixed for me by using the latest version (.197) for Linux. Somehow the update checks in Manjaro and also Ubuntu did not work. With the newest version the Chrome extension works for me.

Please also note that the icon is generally not visible using Manjaro Linux with XFCE. Not at all.

Disregard the icon issue. There was a Budgie-desktop update this morning, and it was fixed upon reboot.
I would still like to request the option to minimize to tray upon startup.
Best,
Kan
The option is currently missing in the Linux build. Would also appreciate to have the option "Start minimized" back.

Not really. I guess you tried relogging already?
I tried relogging in, restarting, does not help. The application starts and I can use it, but as soon as I close it its invisible. I see in top that it's still running, but can't access it.
System: Manjaro 17.1.12 (XFCE edition) with Enpass Beta 6.0.115-1

Arch package is finally up: enpass-beta-bin
I already had scaling issues and require:
QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0
Also, enpass segfaults when doing a proper exit.
Just installed your package (thanks for your work!) on Manjaro.
Works fine, except that I do not have an icon in the taskbar (XFCE). On my Ubuntu laptop this works with Gnome. Any ideas?
-
Thanks, finally! Just installed it on Ubuntu 18.04 without any major problems. No scaling or segfaults like others.
The only thing I noticed: The option "Autofill if only one item applies" does not work. I always have to click the one item, which is kind of annoying.
//edit:
@Anshu kumar Can you say when approx. the portable version of Enpass Beta for Windows will be released? To fully test and use the beta, I have to use it on my work PC also, where only portable version is working.

Hi there,
I am using Enpass Desptop for Windows in v5.5.3 on Windows 7 and Windows 10.
On both systems, the application hangs for about 10 seconds if editing an entry. The whole application window goes white and the title bar says "Enpass (not responding)". I have to wait about 10sec, then it's working. This happens ALWAYS when editing.
Also the application in general isn't the fastest. My database isn't so big (~220 entries).
Best regards

Hi @FelschR
Thanks. Based on your feedback, we have fixed Enpass chrome extension and released a new version(5.4.2).
I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. We have just released a new Enpass extension version (5.4.2) with the fix of Chrome browser. Please give a try and let me know if the issue still persists.
Hi @Anshu kumar,
thank you for the update. Now it works as intended. It's a pity it took so long to be fixed, but at least it's working now. Thank you!

Hi @7Bit
Thanks for writing in.
Sorry for misunderstanding. I was talking the general cause which we have observed with many users where we found that Antivirus was blocking the connection silently. Though there was also an issue where extension shows connection error, but only when Enpass App started after the error had been displayed and Enpass App hadn't come to foreground. We have fixed this issue here and release of this update for extensions is due soon.
Just to make sure, I would like to ask if Enpass App is running in background the moment when you try to autofill. May be you would have hit the close button of main Enpass Window quitting the App and thus losing the connection between extension and App. If this is so, Enpass is working as expected because the main App must be running always to let browser extension autofill. In that case, there is an option in Enpass settings to keep it running in background by minimizing it to system tray. Also you can set Enpass to auto run on system startup so that you don't have to manually start it every time the system starts. But if you're doing it with main Enpass app running and still facing the issues then there could be some deep lying bug for which we need to investigate on higher priorities. And in that case we might need your help with some queries to reproduce the issue here in our lab as we are unable to produce it here on systems with Windows 10 and AVG.
Thanks for your co-operation!
Hi @Hemant Kumar,
thanks for your answer and the clarification.
I have set both options "Start with windows" and "Minimize to tray" on all my systems. I see the Enpass icon also in the systray, it starts with Windows. But about ~50% of the time, at least always when using Enpass the first time after booting, the autofill feature does nothing if the shortcut is used. I have to click on the Enpass icon in the systray, and only then it is working. As I said, I am having this behaviour on my both PCs with different antivirus and OS. The only thing same is Chrome.
Please let me know if I can do anything to support you fixing this issue.
Best regards.

Hey guys and @Hemant Kumar,
simply to blame antivirus is not the solution for this problem I am using Enpass on two systems: Windows 10 with AVG and Windows 7 with corporate managed Symantec Endpoint Protection.
On both systems are the symptoms and problems exactly the same:
Enpass autofilling is NOT/erratic working until I manually open the Enpass app by clicking in the taskbar. Then I can autofill with the shortcut. But before I click manually on the icon in the systray, the shortcut does nothing. Sometimes Enpass connection error appears.
As this happens with both completely different systems and antivirus solutions, this is definately a problem with Enpass. Never experienced something like this with KeePass and 1Password by the way (also offline password managers and also used on both systems).
I really hope you are addressing this bugs, as they are breaking basic functionality.

Same here with the newest beta and a Windows 10 and Windows 7 model running Google Chrome. Really annoying.
-
Also experiencing this. It's really annoying to see that Enpass fails with basic tasks. The first time I try to use autofill in Chrome is never working. I have to click it 2 or 3 times via shortcut to see the window.

-
I am also experiencing this. It's caused by other notifications, especially persistent notifications like a weather notification in my case. Disabling other persistent notifications until the Enpass team fixed this problem is a good workaround. I disabled my persistent notification, since then it's working fine.

The beta Chrome extension mentioned is last updated in April 2019 and missing the keyboard shortcut. Is it really necessary to use this old extension on Chromebooks?
