Enpass on Linux
Discuss usage, distro support, and everything Enpass-related with the Enpass's Linux community here.

  1. Installed the linux version of Enpass today (5.3.0) on my Ubuntu box. I setup folder syncing... if I like it I'll sync the folder elsewhere. Then while running enpass, I noticed it had two programs running, Enpass and EnpassHelper. Enpass had an open socket connection with EnpassHelper talking to Enpass. Specifically, checking the network connections on my box for Enpass gave this: netstat -anp|grep 11095 tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:10391 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 11095/Enpass tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:10391 127.0.0.1:54452 ESTABLISHED 11095/Enpass tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:10391 127.0.0.1:54354 …

Not sure what specific setting made the difference, but copying the Enpass-Desktop.conf file from my other machines, overwriting the one on the new machine resolved my issue. -- I'm using enpass on Arch Linux, running in a Virtualbox VM. On attempting to import from a backup (stored locally sourced from an exported backup from my main desktop machine), I'm prompted for a password, which I enter. It's the same password as on the desktop machines. After selecting the file (.walletx), I enter my password and am informed my data has been restored successfully. I select done and am again prompted for the master password at the unlock screen. However all att…

  3. Hi, Trying to setup an alternate vault on my Linux Enpass, using a local OwnCloud server, I'm currently facing an issue due to space encoding in URL. my URL is : https://myowncloudserver/ my username is : John Doe (yes, with a "space" between both words) Directory where I store my vaults is : Vaults So I configured the following URL for the vault in my Linux Enpass : https://myowncloudserver/remote.php/dav/files/John Doe/Vaults/ ... failed ! I looked at the logs on my owncloud server: 192.168.0.250 - - [26/Jan/2019:10:48:19 +0100] "PROPFIND /remote.php/dav/files/John%2520Doe/Vaults/ HTTP/1.1" 401 4489 "-" "-" 192…

Hi, As a test I've done the following: Installed Enpass in a Virtual Box. Synced a test vault with a remote WebDAV server. Downloaded the synced files from the WebDAV server to my local computer. Deleted the files from my WebDAV server. Destroyed the Virtual Box along with Enpass and all such data. One of the downloaded files is named "vault.enpassdbsync" and all the others end with ".enpassattach". In an attempt to recover the test vault on my local computer I've done the following: Created a new vault. Named it "test". Selected "Backup File". Chose the file "vault.enpassdbsync". Entered my passwor…

re: I've tried setting the QT env vars mentioned in the thread above but they appear to have no effect. The left category bar looks ok, although the counters are clipped inside their ovals. The list of logins looks awful. The title and sub-title are too large and both overflow each other in the middle, either because the font size is too large or because the line height is too small. The icon on is appropriately sized for the line height. The right hand detail panel looks pretty good. Only minor detail is the button icons and check box image is too small. I'm running Enpass 5.6.5 in Ubuntu 16.04 on a Dell XPS 13. I obviously can't provide scr…

  8. The only way I managed to make Enpass connect, as an existing user, to Webdav over Owncloud installed to my QNAP NAS TS-110 was by connecting to the server and manually save the walletx file to the PC, then run the Enpass installer again and choose "Backup file" in the "Restore" dialog of the installation wizard. After successfully restoring the existing user this way, I now can open the Toos->Settings->Sync options and manually enter there the connection information for the Webdav/owncloud option!

  9. Hi all, After testing, any attempt to sync my wallet to the Dropbox (or any) cloud service doesn't work. The wheel is spinning but I am not redirected to the page for login. I attempted to open via xdg-open in a terminal, and everything is fine, but apprently the application doesn't show anything. I also tried to launch from the script Enpass, and no log for error or whatsoever. Any solution ?

Hello, I decided to move from KeePassXC to Enpass. Over time I have collected a lot of passwords in my KeePassXC database. Is there an easy way to import these passwords to Enpass? Maybe there is some sort of script for that? Running Arch Linux, Enpass 6.2.0 (537)

  12. Hi! Could you please update system tray icon size according to display resolution? It looks really ugly now.

  13. I am on SteamOS using the flatpak appstream://io.enpass.enpass shared by a user in this thread. The flatpak is v6.10.1.1661. I have not used it in a while but it does not seem to work anymore. I cannot sync with google cloud, it just times out. I tried clearing all user data and reinstalling, and it still just times out trying to sync to google. I tried taking an .enpassbackup from my Windows machine. I tried recovering directly with the .enpassbackup and got an "Internal error -995". After a lot of troubleshooting with WiFi sync, I eventually got it to connect with my Windows machine. (I was on hotel WiFi and once I put both the ste…

I seem not to be able to find an Enpass installer for 32-bit Linux. Is there such thing?

  15. Hi, I'm a new user, installing on Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS. Installation successful via the official PPA repository, following the instructions on the website. Running the application for the first time works fine, I tell it I'm a new user, I create my master password, and an empty database opens up as expected. I close the application and then successfully install the Firefox add-on. Now when I try to re-open the application, I am prompted for my master password, I enter it, the application tells me that it has unlocked successfully, but then before the (empty) database can display, the application hangs (the window dims) and the only thing I can do is…

  18. Hello, I'm having two problems with Enpass 5.4.1 on a new Gentoo Linux / KDE Plasma 5 system. The initial installation works fine and I can sync and open my wallet without issue. However, the first problem is that I cannot get a connection to any browser. I've tried Firefox, Chromium, and Vivaldi, with the plugin installed from their respective official sites, and they all give the Enpass connection error page. The only similar thread reporting this problem here is this one, and they mentioned that starting Enpass first, and then the browser, worked for them, however it doesn't work for me in this case. The second problem is that after a reboot, the Enpass …

Whenever I try to launch it from the application launcher (w or without shortcut) it fails to do see (see my other post about it). 24. I've installed Enpass on Arch Linux from the community AUR:https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/enpass-bin I'm also using Firefox in Arch Linux, and when attempting to launch Enpass from either the toolbar or the context menu on a form I just get a new tab that says "Enpass connection error". The browser extension is enabled in enpass settings, and I can see Enpass listening on 127.0.0.1:10391 I have two different systems, both are using Arch Linux with the KDE Plasma desktop. Both exhibit the same problems. Everything works fine on Windows machines. Any ideas?

  25. It is a nightmare since I get the version 6.0.x of enpass. I lost a lot of time to make it run on Ubuntu. 1) I had a segmentation fault if Enpass is not ran as root. Solution was to create a script to initialize some envirronment variables (see bashScript.png, solution found on this forum in several threads). 2) To be able to sync I also had to update the desktop shortcut in /usr/share/applications/enpass.desktop. During the synchronisation, the default internet browser is started and ask for a connexion to dropbox in order to autorise enpass access. if the desktop shorcut is not correct, the browser fails to run "reconnect" to enpass and sta…
