  1. Hi all, As the title states, I've long been having this random issue with Enpass's Windows Hello Security dialog randomly freezing for 5+ minutes on my 32GB RAM i7 Surface Pro 7+ whenever I attempt unlocking it: After the freezing, it just shows an error message that "Something went wrong. Please try again." (as can be seen in the second image) and requires me to reauthenticate with Windows Hello yet again. Upon reattempting to authenticate with Windows Hello, it still freezes for another 5+ minutes! Only way to gain back access to my credentials is to cancel the Windwos Hello security dialog (which sometimes also takes another 5+ minutes after clicking the Cancel button) and enter my master password manually. However, to make matters worse, sometimes even clicking the Cancle button doesn't help, as after the 5+ minutes wating for it to Cancel, the moment I click the manual password entry text box in the Enpass main window, it yet again prompts for Windows Hello authentication. This has been a serious productivity-hampering bug that keeps randomly occurring in Enpass for the past several versions, and it still persists in Enpass v6.9.1 (1512) which I currently have installed from the Microsoft Store. What's going on? Also, I earlier noticed that the Enpass Windows Hello was attempting to connect to the internet for some reason, what's that for? Could it be because I blocked it from the internet that these random freezes are occuring?
  2. Just thought I'd report a win; Windows Hello in Enpass has been broken for me for a while, & I decided to switch to your beta build, & that fixed it. I had reinstalled the previous version & set it up again, but that didn't solve it. Whatever you've done in 6.10.0 (1609) (website beta version) is working for me. System: Edition Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview (Canary) Version 23H2 OS build 26040.1000 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26040.1000.0 Device Microsoft Surface Book 3 Current (working): Enpass 6.10.0 (1609) (website beta version) Previous (failing): Enpass 6.9.3 (1592) (Microsoft Store stable version) Windows Hello was just never opening up. Enpass would say it was using it, but nothing would actually happen. Seems like you fixed whatever it was!
  3. Version: 6.2.0 (542) TPM: AMD 3.37.0.5 Recently i switched to an AMD platform with a Ryzen 3800X on AM4. If i login with password, everything works. Using windows hello crashes the app. Also i have to enter password everytime i restart the computer. 4. Windows fingerprint only works when you login with your password, go to settings, security and uncheck-check Windows Hello. Then you close Enpass and start Enpass again and you see the smiley to login with your fingerprint. But first you have to click on the smiley otherwise it wont work.(its much easyer on Android) If you shut down your computer and would like to use Enpass again you have todo everything again to get it work.
  5. Can we integrate the PC/Desktop app to use Windows Hello as a login option just as the iPhone app uses TouchiD/FaceiD? I have a laptop, iPhone, and Microsoft Surface Tablet and it would be great if the user experience could be similar across all platforms. This request was being worked on since last year and I am surprised that the MS Store App version of Enpass is NOT updated to use the Windows Hello feature since they promised to include this functionality in a newer version of the app.....! Here's the link:
  6. Hello everyone. I'm a bit confused about all those Enpass versions available for Windows 10 PC. I used to prefer the Enpass desktop application (not the one from the Windows Store) but I downloaded the Store version because I thaught it would support Windows Hello. I don't have Windows Hello already but I want to buy an USB fingerprint reader soon so I just wanted to check out if I can see an option to enable Windows Hello. But the Windows Store App which is for free is totally the same like the desktop application and only the Windows Store App for 9,99$ supports Windows Hello, am I right? Are there any plans that Windows Hello will come to the desktop application too? Maybe with Enpass v6? I'm not planning to buy the UWP app from the Windows 10 store because it doesn't support browser extensions which is a must-have for me. Thanks for letting me know.
  7. A long, long time ago (I couldn't even find the topic anymore) I asked if you could support logging in into Enpass using Windows Hello on the Desktop application, so it could also be used in the browser extensions (that's how your system works, right?). You replied that the Windows Hello APIs aren't available on the Windows desktop. I recently came across an article on the Windows Dev Center: UWP APIs callable from a classic desktop app. This article mentions that every UWP API which lists the DualApiPartition attribute in the Attributes section is also available for classic desktop apps. The API that's used for Windows Hello (KeyCredentialManager) actually lists this attribute, so it can also be used in classic desktop apps. As you might have guessed, I would really love Enpass to support this! It would make Enpass exactly what I want my password manager to be.
  8. Would the next desktop version has the following features? 1. printing report function, which provides the offline hardcopy backup solution. 2. Add a windows hello support, to provide "No Password Environment". 3. Add an option to disable to show password feature by press the "eyes" icon, it is because has a security problem when doing action with the other people in front of computer.
  9. I have noticed high CPU usage by Windows 10 Enpass app after unlocking my Surface (with or without Windows Hello). It happens every time if I do following steps: Unlock the app using Windows Hello or don't cancel the little Windows Hello window Lock and unlock my Surface The app tries to unlock even though it's not in focus and doesn't stop until I close the app. This issue has a significant hit on my Surface's battery life and causes apps to freeze. I take notes in school using Microsoft OneNote and it has frozen multiple times after a while when I have forgotten Windows 10 Enpass window open and scanning in the background. Freezing has stopped every time after I have closed Enpass. Has anybody else had this problem?
  10. I use Enpass in my Lumia 950, and it works just fine. I only have one problem with it. I have set the app to unlock using Windows Hello. The flow for this is: I open the app The app displays the Windows Hello dialog and authenticates me I have to tap "OK" to open the app This last step is what really bothers me. First, it shouldn't exist. When Windows Hello recognizes me, the app should just open. Second: if I take too long to confirm (more than a couple of seconds), Windows Hello will try to recognize me again (and this time it will fail). I think this is a problem with Microsoft's implementation of Windows Hello, but if there is anything you can do about it, it would be great.
  11. Hello, Any plans to support desktops with TPM 2.0 for full time Windows Hello? Unlocking after initial master password works fine, but I thought with TPM I would get full time support. Thanks for your help! -Benitocereno
  12. Loving the Widows Hello support in the Windows 10 UWP app - but would be even better if you had the option to be able to accept the Windows Hello logon (facial recognition/fingerprint) without having to press OK, so it became almost transparent for the user whilst still secure.
  13. When using Enpass on my Lumia 950, the Windows Hello sign inn works like a charm, even if the Enpass app has been closed down. However on my desktop (Surface Pro 4) After restarting the app, the master password always has to be entered. Is this by design, I would love for Windows Hello to work the same way on desktop as mobile.
