Touch ID not working properly

Featured Replies

If have enabled Touch ID on my MacBook Pro (2016) with macOS 11.00.01. If I restart my Macbook I can enable Enpass with Touch ID. That's good but everytime it is locked I have to use the Master-PW.  That is not ok. Anybody knows a solution?

Thanks for your response. I am using the latest version from the Apple App Store: 6.5.2 (726). MacOS is the 11.0.1 (20B28).

Hey @Tranel

Thanks for writing back. I have checked and the same is working fine in our testing environment. Please share a video of the issue so that we can try to diagnose the issue again.

Hi

I cannot make a video but I have some pictures. After a restart of my Macbook Enpass opens up and I can unlock it with Touch ID. Every time I sent my Macbook to sleep and I open up it again, Enpass is asking for the master password. There is no option to use Touch ID. As you can see on the picture.

Thanks for sharing the details.

We've been able to reproduce the issue on our system and now working towards a fix. Please co-operate with us!

I have the same issue on Big Sur using the latest MacOS Version of Enpass.

Any fix yet?

Is there an update on this?

I am having the same issues on Big Sur 11.1 and it is pretty annoying.

I am also experiencing the same problem. The problem occurred immediately upon updating with Big Sur. With Catalina it worked well.

Hi @OP38 @wuedan @Gaetano,

Sorry for the trouble you are going through.

Our team is working on it. Hopefully, fix will be available in the future updates. Till then, we will request you to please co-operate with us.

Thanks!

Dears, I face the same issue. Master-PW is requested if MacBook was on sleep or switch user.

If I enable PIN instead of Touch ID it works as expected (always the PIN is requested).

I use MBP 16 inch 2019, BigSur 11.1, Enpass 6.5.2 (726)

Same issue here. My master password is a long, complicated one, and now that I have upgraded the OS to Big Sur, I have to enter it 10 to 15 times a day. This is a real usability problem.

Hey @ben1265

I apologize for the trouble you are facing. The Touch ID issue on macOS Big Sur has been fixed, and an update with the fix will be rolled out soon.

I appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Thanks this is a very good help. When it is fixed

Edited by Scrabber

Hi All,

Thanks for the patience.

Our team has fixed similar issues in the v6.6 of Enpass. Please update the app and let us know if the issue still persists.

I was testing this fix and something very strange/scary just happened: I upgraded, reopened Enpass (it asked me for the password) and made sure everything looked OK. I then put the the laptop to sleep and woke it up after an hour or so. When I logged back in, I was able to reopen Enpass, but my vault appeared completely empty. NOTHING WAS THERE!

Restarting the app fixed the issue, my entries show up again. But of course, that defeats the fix, as I had to enter the master password after restarting the app.

I just reproduced the problem. There seems to be a serious bug there. If my Mac goes to sleep for an hour or more, when I try to access Enpass, I can unlock using my fingerprint, bu the vault appears completely empty. See attached screen shot.

Quitting Enpass and restarting it fixes the issue.

I have exactly the same issue.

It shows as if I have elements in my vault, yet they are not there. When I close and reopen, they reappear.

Very annoying.

Hello, Enpass team. Were you able to reproduce this "vault appears empty after a fingerprint unlock" problem? I have to deal with this several times a day (and a couple of crashes as well); it's super easy for me to reproduce if you need help with that. Thanks.

Hi team,

I am having the same issue for a while now, any idea when it will be fixed?

Thanks
