Feature requests

Tell us here what features you would like to see in upcoming releases of Enpass.

  1. Started by FireFart,

When exporting the DB as json there are also historical items present like old emails and passwords. I can't find any way in the enpass app itself (OSX) to delete the history o those items or even all histories. This would be a nice feature to add

I just switched from Safe to Enpass. In Safe, there was a list of previously used passwords for each entry. Since some sites don’t allow certain number of last passwords to be used, it would save time to have this feature. Is that available in Enpass (if so I can’t find it) or can it be added?

Hi Sinew Team, Hopefully no-one else has asked for the following feature. I would like to be able to set up a Tag with multiple Subtags and have the ability to duplicate it to save me the time and effort of having to do it manually every time I generate a new client. Currently, I have seventeen subtags (as shown in the picture) and it gets extremely tedious to have to recreated them manually.

I'd like a view of all my items in Enpass that's similar to the Details view layout in Windows File Explorer where I could sort and possibly even filter items using each column. Perhaps the new view would be more like Excel or some generic spreadsheet software. I think I would use Enpass a lot more if it were as user friendly as Airtable. Currently I can see a list of items in the Enpass desktop application similar to the List view layout in Windows File Explorer.

Though enpass allows us to create multiple vaults, the attendant features are completely useless due to the following reasons: 1. Doesn't allow multiple vaults to be synced to a single cloud accounts 2. Due to the above, all vaults do not appear across all devices. Due to the above two reasons, there is no reason / use case to have multiple vaults (except sharing - which I guess is less used use case). I would love to have the following: 1. Creation of multiple vaults with independent passwords for each vaults 2. Ability to sync multiple vaults to same cloud account 3. Ability to see all these multiple vaults across all devices …

  6. Started by John Deere,

A lot of times, when entering my master password to unlock Enpass, I use the wrong password but quickly figure it out. I can't seem to use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-A to select all of the characters and hit delete to quickly delete what I had entered. It is cumbersome to delete all of the characters by delete key or just enter and re-enter the correct password.

It would be really nice if the tags in every item would be clickable to get quicker access to the other items that are tagged with exactly this tag.

  8. Started by Kyouhyung Kim,

Please update the Korean font into something nicer. Enpass is using 굴림 (Gulim) as the Korean font. This is Comic Sans equivalent in Korean typeface, and while it's not exactly a product-breaking issue, it's mildly annoying nonetheless :P

Is it possible to have a history of sensitive fields that can be queried so as to avoid setting duplicate passwords? Thank you.

  12. Started by Ralle82,

Just switched from 1Password and I'm missing the feature, that passwords are copied to clipboard by just clicking on them. So you can make a "quick & dirty" click without aiming for the little copy Icon. Could you guys add that please?

  14. Started by maxgro,

For MacBook Pro with TouchID users it would be helpful to have TouchID on by default, but when the Macbook is connected to an external monitor and is in clamshell mode (closed lid) then it would be helpful, if it changes to the PIN, once you open it again it should go back to TouchID to unlock Enpass. Alternatively if there is no way to implement this, it would be possible when TouchID pops up, to decline and when TouchID fails to show the PIN entry.

Hi, Currently, your app includes date info when it was created and updated, but it would be great if the date field is searchable. I'm mainly interested to know when it was updated last and if it has not been updated, say for 90days, I would like to flag those for action. Better yet -- if you can allow the user to set an expiration date and generate a report for the list of entries that have expired, that too would be helpful. thanks, Mussie

  16. I work as a maintainer in a relatively popular Linux distribution, Manjaro Linux. Currently Enpass is packaged only for .deb and .rpm based Linux distributions. I would like to package Enpass for Manjaro and include it our software repositories. This would require no action from Enpass team apart from consent, because I can simply convert the official .deb packages to our package format. No access to source code or anything like that is needed. However, the Enpass terms of use seem to prohibit redistribution. I tried to contact Enpass via the main page contact form, but there has been no response thusfar. What would be the proper channel to contact Enpass about this ma…

  17. I'm using Linux, and I want to input a master password automatically on login. I think it's good if Enpass can be passed a master password from stdin like this: # store password to GNOME Keyring secret-tool store --label "Enpass master password" type enpass # set this command on login sh -c "secret-tool lookup type enpass | /opt/enpass/Enpass --pw-stdin" Could you consider this function?

  18. Hi I'd like to see more information about the vault synchronization settings. I have multiple O365 accounts (work/home/test) and I cannot tell if I have synchronized with the correct account. I have had vaults in multiple O365 accounts and broken synchronization because I did not know and could not find out without disconnecting and reconnecting. When the O365 credentials expire and need refreshing you are sent to a browser session, but if you have saved credentials or have SSO it can log you on without any input so this does not provide a way to know what environment you have just authenticated against. Thanks.

  19. For quick access, I use a keyboard shortcut to open the Assistant, then type in a phrase to find the entry I'm looking for, and copy the user name, password or whatever. It's really quick and convenient to do it this way, as you only use keyboard to do that. Sometimes, however, I need to access the same item more than once: to copy user name first, then password. As you know, when the Assistant window loses focus, it disappears (yes, I know there is the anchor icon for such cases, but it only slows me down, so I don't want to use it). So when you copy the user name of the entry and switch back to the application where you want to paste it, the Assistant is already gone. I…

In settings, there is an option to select which repository to use as the default one when adding new entries. The + button in the main window for adding a new entry displays a list of options, with the destination repository drop down list at the top, right? In 9 out of 10 cases I miss the drop down, intuitively thinking that the new entry will be added to the current repository, but I'm always wrong. Because of that, I always have to search for the newly added item, and move it manually to the repository I actually wanted it to be saved in. Please consider a change in the logic: when you are in the "all repositories" view, the drop down list should preselect t…

  21. I usually use a keyboard short to open Enpass Assistant. With time it becomes natural and handy. In rare cases I also do that because I want to modify or duplicate an item on the list (which is not supported from the Assistant). So in the Assistant I find the item I want to modify, and press the Command + E key combination to open the main window. And for me it seems natural that the item that I already found in the Assistant should be selected in the main window that opens, but it isn't. Would you consider a change here? Thanks!

  22. minor correction, folder "Trashed" & "Archived" should rename to "Trash" & "Archive" just like all other apps.

  23. Started by justaguy,

Most websites nowadays allow you to sign up and login with your Google or Facebook account. As it stands, Enpass has no solution for this; my only workaround is to put a note for myself in Enpass that I should login with Google. But this option is a bit cumbersome, as I have to open up Enpass desktop in order to add the note field. Can Enpass please have options for "Login with..."?

  24. It would be great if the fingerprint feature was added to linux, just like windows hello, ubuntu for example already has this option to unlock system resources and it would be nice to have it in the enpass.

    Started by Guest,

Hi, I'm loving Enpass, does everything I want it to do, thanks everyone :) My only issue is that sometimes it takes a long time to auto- sync. I'm using Folder Sync between multiple devices, and the vault files are updating immediately when an item is added or edited, but it takes a long time (up to 10 minutes) for Enpass on another device to auto-refresh, even when it's left open and on top of other apps. (I'm using version 6.4.2). It's nothing to do with my network, it's definitely Enpass not auto-refreshing for some reason. So, to be safe, I manually sync Enpass when I move to a different device to make sure it is current. It would help if you could add a S…
