Sorry, I would have explained it - but I have the german version. OK, I try it: Only if you have activated the feature "keyfile" (which is also a bit hidden on the bottom of preferences where you change the Master-password), you'll get a new entry in the vault menu under preferences (3 points - see screenshot) - behind these 3 points you'll get the barcode. I think it's difficult to find - I searched through the web and found nothing. Would be better, to find it in the tools-menu - or under vault-info, where the information is, if you have chosen the keyfile (f.e.). Sorry for my bad english - I hope you understand ;-)

Hi @databoy2k Thank you for taking the time out to write and express your grievances. I agree with you that the Beta releases got delayed and it’s quite unfortunate that we didn’t roll out a single one in the past month. Your feedback has been duly acknowledged, and we will assess it to deduct measures we can adopt to prevent issues of this nature in subsequent times. Also, I will keep you updated with the development progress. Please accept our sincere apology for the unpleasant experience we have caused you. We aspire to keep our most valued customers, and we hope to serve you better in the future. Thank you for your support!

Hey @alba85, I would like to share that the feature of the Favicon has already been implemented and will be available with the version 6.1. Cheers!

The problem has been solved by the Firefox developers. The extension can be installed now without any problem.

Hey guys, this has nothing to do with Enpass. Mozilla missed updating important certificates, which causes the issues you experience. To solve the problem you have two options: Wait for Mozilla to resolve the problem with e.g. a rollout of a new Firefox version Apply the studies mentioned in this post i.e. apply Firefox Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Allow Firefox to install and run studies. You can disable studies again once you restarted your browser. After (2) Enpass addon should work again. Duplicate of

Hi Enpassians! We know our Portable users have been waiting to get the v6 update quite a long time as they are facing compatibility issues with the data on v5 of Portable Apps and v6 of the Stable apps. I am sorry that took it more time than expected as we were busy in improving and stabilizing the v6, but it's finally here! The first beta of Enpass v6 for the Portable apps has been out, and you can get it from the download links given later in the post. The complete changelog for this beta is: What’s New Multiple Vaults: We are very excited to have the support of more than one vault in Enpass to collaborate with our family and team members, keeping our personal data separate in Primary vault. It was one of the most demanded features from you guys. You can share a vault with others by syncing through a common cloud account where each vault need a distinct cloud account to sync. Just go ahead, and give it a try! Secure Sharing: Every single item that you want to share with others can now be encrypted with a passphrase (call it Pre-Shared Key). You can create PSKs from the Advanced Settings of Enpass after which an additional option to Encrypt with PSK will appear while sharing the item. You need to share the PSK prior with the intended recipient to enable them to import in their Enpass. Please use a different medium to share the PSK than you’ll use to share the item. -“Keys are always kept hidden from the locks” ;-). Enpass Assistant: The minified Enpass is now called Enpass Assistant (Formerly Helper). It offers excellent autofilling experience with browser extensions, and you can invoke it from a Keyboard shortcut or System Menu bar. Always run Enpass Assistant in docked mode: From now onwards, you can stick the Enpass Assistant on the screen, and it won’t disappear when you click outside it. You can enable it from Enpass General settings under the Behavior section. Also, once the Enpass Assistant is opened, you can use the Keyboard shortcut Shift+Ctrl+ D to stick it on the screen. Keyfile Support: You want to have a super-duper strong master password, huh! Yeah, but memory has a limit to memorize it. No worries, you can use Enpass 6 to let you use Enpass-Keyfile in addition to your master password as a second factor required to unlock the Enpass on every platform. Custom Icons: Let’s you set any image as an icon for an item. Trash & Archive: You know what to do with Trash. Archive those unwanted items which should be skipped while Searching. Identities: Create identities with personal information for auto-filling long, tedious sign-up forms with a single click. Multi-Line Field: It’s a new field type where you can save data in multiple-lines. History of Every Field: Like password fields, you can now see the history of changes in every kind of fields in an item except Notes. Dark theme: Added support for dark mode on macOS Mojave and Linux. A separate section under the ‘Groups’ tab to have a quick look at all TOTPs & Attachments. Added localization support for Afrikaans, Malay, Croatian, Hungarian, Indonesian, Romanian, Slovak and Swedish. Improvements Improved Security: The real stuff!! Enpass 6 comes with far better protection for your data. Check out more about Security on our website. Browser Extensions: The improved browser extensions now offer better auto-filling, auto-capturing, and security. Enpass extension can now autofill in pages with more than two fields. Also, while setting up the first connection with a browser, you would need to pair that first. Tags: Folders in previous Enpass were more or liked Tags, and so we have renamed them to Tags. And yes, they are nested too. Checking Pwned Passwords for Complete Database: Say goodbye to the hassle of checking every single password for pwnage, now you can review the passwords in your entire database with a single click. Improved Password generator and more brutal strength estimator. Again, Security Matters the most! Password Expiry: From now onwards you can set an expiry date to any password field and check for them from the ‘Audit’ tab when they are going to expire. Eight digits TOTP support. Unlike the older version, Password generator has no limitation of five passwords in history. Known Issues: Remember Location: After every fresh start, the app will ask you to select the data location even if you have previously clicked 'Remember Location.' iCloud Synchronization: The Portable versions are missing the iCloud option for the synchronization. Translations: Some strings might be not be localized in the supported languages. For Linux users running 16.04: The app icon isn't displayed in the launcher. For macOS users: Missing the Categories list, and item's icon: After the initial launch of Enpass Portable, the app may not show the Categories List or item's icon. Workaround: Copy the extracted enpassportable and paste it in a new folder or location. Now open the app and it will show the list and icons as expected. Using Safari 12 or later versions: Unfortunately, the Enpass extension for Safari will not work with the Portable versions. The reason is that the Safari App Extension is bound with the app installation. But for Portable versions, there is no such app installation. Workaround: Use any other supported browsers. Download Links Before installing the Beta version, please read the Enpass Portable User Guide. For Linux (.tar.gz): Enpass Portable Beta v6.0.7 For Windows and macOS (.zip): Enpass Portable Beta v6.0.7 Get your hands on this beta version and share your valuable feedback. If there are other improvements you’d like to see, please leave a comment below. Cheers!

I was looking for a solution that meets the following requirements: Local Vault Windows and iOS App Synchronization over LAN Nice GUI No subscription (I am willing to pay for a good program) Currently there are not so many Password Managers that meet all these requirements! Enpass meets all these requirements and I do not have any serious problems right now. Before I write down all my passwords on paper, I trust Enpass (It's that simple ) Sure, the best would be an open source solution with a great GUI that is available for all devices...

I recently opened a support ticket with the following content: "When I restart the browser (Chrome, Vivaldi, Edge) and send a "auto fill requests", I always have to wait about 1 minute before the Assistant apears. The follow up "auto fill requests" will be answered spontaneously until I restart the browser again. I have already uninstalled all extensions and the main program, cleand all settings (AppData>Local, AppData>Roaming and the Registry) and then reinstalled everything. No success. The deactivation of the firewall and the virus scanner (ESET Endpoint Antivirus) did not succeed either. Does anyone have a good idea?" I (respectively ESET Support) was able to fix the problem. It is not enough to disable the virus scanner. For whatever reason, you must explicitly exclude the enpass.exe process from the realtime scan. Now it works perfectly! I hope I can help someone else with this information.

Hello @Vikram Dabas, i have some enhancement for this suggestion: after the Vault was exported (packed to ZIP) open the folder where the ZIP file is stored, so I can drag it in an new email add an option to protect the ZIP with the password that is used for the vault (this option is checked by default, but users can un-check it) Best regards OLLI

Releasing the beta in the coming weeks? Really? How can your release cadence be in weeks? Is this 2019? Come on guys, if you are marketing this tool as a productivity boost and security mechanism then this issue is to an extent unacceptable. Make a point release, it's likely a touch of css and nothing more.

Hi @Vikram Dabas. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my rant. You clearly sensed my frustration as I was wiping all things Enpass off my Slate and reinstalling the stable version. Thanks for getting the CPU Drain fix pushed out (to you and/or the team). I'm back in the beta boat. It's tough - we're the ungrateful consumers constantly begging for updates and features while whining about costs. But then again especially beta testers are donating our devices (some of which are pretty high value) to you to make your product more marketable. It's a tough tension. I look forward to seeing how you guys resolve it. In any event, I've grabbed the last two updates to the beta. Everything seems fast and fluid. There are two things that should still be looked at: I'm assuming that the Enpass Service notification will be mandatory; if that's the case, then please confirm. In any event, there's a typo in it: it reads "Enpass Autofill Serive" When the app has been running for a while and you go to close it, sometimes it keeps popping up as many as three times. Current setup causing it: Running a Pixel Slate in Tablet Mode (no mouse/keyboard/cover attached) on Stable v74 (fully updated) Enpass App is pinned to the shelf Press and hold Enpass App and choose "Close" Expected behaviour: Enpass App Closes Experienced behaviour: Enpass App opens. Press and hold and choose Close, enpass app appears to minimize and re-open. Rinse and repeat until it finally does close (and it does, but after several tries Those are the only ones that I've found so far. Thanks for improving the process for us. Another random feedback that I'm going to leave here rather than risking trying to get it out elsewhere. I've had a horrible time getting this posted. I actually drafted the bulk of this the day that you posted (and @Dentonthebear) and couldn't actually post. The anti-spam filter kept advising me that I was posting too many times or that my browser was forbidden. I also keep getting login problems accusing my domain of being a spam domain. I am sending this from a static IP address because it's my business computer - I'm a lawyer in Canada. I'm not sure what's going on, but maybe the spam filter could be eased up a little bit? Thanks! I'm not sure if this was aimed at me or not, but I'll respond to it because I want to be clear that I wasn't whining about a beta product not being ready for prime-time use. Rather, I was complaining about the lack of updates to the beta. Whether those updates came in the form of an actual update to the software itself (even with a disclaimer of "Try this out and see if the CPU bug is gone") or in a post ("Just FYI: we've nailed the CPU bug and will be rolling out an update to the software in a fortnight, barring other build issues"), I just wanted to know that this was actually getting fixed and that we could expect to continue testing. As I said: I don't mind donating my bloody expensive device for testing beta products if I know that the testing is leading somewhere. I was starting to wonder if this was going to languish in beta for six months, maybe even a year. Over a month without any changes to the beta and no roadmap for when we should see it doesn't inspire me to help them beta test. It inspires me to wait in the rest of the forums for the update to hit whenever it hits and to not help them out with the test. If I'm alone in that sentiment, then so be it, but I wanted it said just in case there's others like me reporting everything from showstoppers to cosmetic bugs and then wondering if we'll ever see a fix.

This is really an absolutely important remark to take care of "..that cloud database syncing from other devices (e.g. Android mobile) will not result in problems of 'backward compatibility' with my El Capitan Mac desktops."

Hi, Just to chime in that this behaviour does work on Google and some other site (that if I can remember what they are I will list them) but not on others, again if I find any I will report them.

Hi @JohnR. Thanks for your suggestion. I would like to share that we have already implemented a feature to view Subset of password and will be available in the next update v6.1. Meanwhile, if you want to view the letter of the password field instance please follow these steps: For Desktop --> Click on item --> Right click on the password field --> Tap on option View Large. For mobile --> Click on the item --> Long press on the password field. Hope this helps!

Hello, in the Traditional Win32 version of Enpass I can select in wich folder my Vault is stored. Here I set to store my password database on the folder D:\Enpass. Reason: I create a weekly backup of my D:\ drive In the Windows 10 Store version it is not possible to set a folder for the vault. So I suggest that you implement an additional folder sync (in addition to the Cloud Sync). This way the vault is synced with a local folder (D:\ drive) and also to my OneDrive. Here I have set up two synchronizations. Best regards OLLI

i'd one single successfull enpass launch after applying your terminal command above. unfortunately this wasn't repeatable :-( i have two hang reports for you (please use the URL in the screenshots attached as i'm not allowed to post txt or zip files and as my webdav URls are seen as offending by your system) one report is made after the 1st reboot after applying the term cmd and another 2nd one after re-applying the term cmd. hope this helps to dive deeper into this issue.

Hm, I was posting this yesterday from home, being connected to my work computer via VPN and Windows Remote Desktop. Today I came to work and was able to see and activate this option in Settings. Probably the Windows Hello functionality is disabled in remote desktop connection and the application shows this option based on system capabilities... Long story short, it seems that all is working properly .

Ok, I found a way to load old file type into the new Enpass Password Manager, by creating new vault from existing backup. After that, I was able to export to text file and do whatever comparisons I needed to do (compare by content in Total Commander). Dear reader, if you ended up here, you could probably use these steps 1) Go to "Settings" 2) Select "Vaults" 3) Click "+" button 4) Give it a name 5) Select "Backup File" 6) Select "All file types" in the combo box 7) Find your sync_default.walletx file 8) Et voila! You can now switch between your vaults in the upper left part of the application.

Adding on to @71titan post, Multiple Vault support attachment for many file extension Variety Cloud sync TOTP Support or even multiple TOTP Support Keyfile for additional Security Linux Support I tried different Password manager (more than 7 apps), NONE has this features above, and i think Enpass really should do more Marketing to grab the other password manager market and increase revenue. Enpass if you're reading this post, DO SOME MORE MARKETING EXPOSURE, lots of ppl are subscribing to useless service, while they can just pay for enpass PS: I'm just happy user and don't work for Enpass

I would like to see a switch that allows me to disable automatic sync. Manual synchronization (Sync Now) should not be affected. This is primarily a workaround for the missing WiFi sync, but I think it can also be useful in general. I sync my devices via WebDAV on my NAS. Before I used enpass, my NAS was always in sleep mode, but now the discs are almost always active. I rarely create or change logins, and I know exactly when I have to synchronize the data. Currently I setup WebDAV on all devices (PC, iPad, iPhone), synchronize them and disconnect again... But that can not be a permanent solution.

I have successfully imported the complete vault from Lastpass several times. The process that seems to work best for me is to do the following: Export Vault from Lastpass Select all text and save as plaintext file with ".csv" extension Open file in Excel (or some other spreadsheet program, Google Docs, LibreOffice, etc.) Save file as CSV file from inside the spreadsheet software Import resulting file into Enpass using the Lastpass import type Every time I have done this I got a complete import of all the data.

I'll just bring this up again... Enpass sadly lost it's ability for full-time Windows Hello support with v6. I would really like you bringing this back asap for devices with TPM since it was very convenient. I hope there is no technical limitation because it's now a bridged Win32 app.

I cannot answer that one, but as well as being a girls name and a card game, patience is a virtue. Programming is not easy especially in the moving goalposts world of IT.

Oh god, I'm not the only one! I was wondering why my fan is so loud since some days, now I realised that it's Enpass and I wanted to report it here right now, and saw your comment! Especially when I wake up my Chromebook from suspend, my fan is spinning at 100% for ever, because Enpass is using 100% of the CPU for ever, if I don't reboot my Chromebook! And the Chromebook is getting really really hot! @Vikram Dabas Please fix this fast, the other bugs are just small ones but this one hurts the battery very hard and it's also not great to have my fan's spinning at 100% for ever after suspend.. Edit: I noticed that after I switched off my WIFI the enpass app was instant at 100% and I needed to force close it.

Hi All, Microsoft recently introduced the developer preview of its new Microsoft Edge browser. This edition does not support the old Microsoft Edge extensions. The Enpass extension for the new browser would need to be installed from the Chrome Web Store but requires some fixing before it works. We are working closely with the Edge team at Microsoft, and hopefully, the upcoming Enpass v6.1 would bring support for the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge. Meanwhile, you can make the Enpass Chrome extension to work with the app by disabling the "Authorized browser with verified code signature only" option from Enpass Browser settings.

Many (most?) software developers eventually get bored with a program and have the 'brilliant' idea of tweaking it. They then tweak, tweak, tweak it to death and to the point that they completely eff it up (FIU), remember Windows 8 and many other programs? Congratulations Enpass, you have reached the ultimate FIU-dom! In that process, you have lost me, and I suspect others, leaving us searching for a replacement---too bad.
  42. 1 point
I fully support this request. Having two or more independent vaults is a major point for Enpass (in theory). So far I can use any other PW-Manager (Reasons explained by AMK already)
  43. 1 point
Atm, access to multiple vaults works with the master password of the first vault. This prevents different users with different vaults can use enpass on one PC. In addition I think it's a security issue, because the master password of other vaults are saved in Enpass / in the first vault. A master password should never be saved anywhere! So it would be great, if access to a vault should only be possible with each vault's master password. Not with the master password of another vault. For me it's not importent opening multiple vaults at the same time. I only want to manage/using them separatly with one Enpass installation or within the web browser.

Hey @7Bit Could you please try re-enabling Open Automatically at System Startup in Enpass General settings and let me know if the problem persists. Thanks!

Hello, I want to use enpass on a Mac with two users. The storage location is a shared folder where all users have full access rights. I want to use 3 different vaults, each with its own password protected. Vault-1 (default): access with master password possible Vault-2: Access only possible with Vault-2 Password Vault-3: Access only possible with Vault-3 Password Application example: Several family members use the Mac with their own user profile, start Enpass from the mentioned common folder. The Vault-1 area should contain passwords accessible to all users, Vault1 + 2 only personal passwords. How can I implement this?
  46. 1 point
I suspect you did not understand me. I want the user to enter the password when switching to the other vault. The user should only be able to look into his vault, unless one knows the password of the other vault.
  47. 1 point
I think it should be not a problem if every user has its own user profile (although I didn't test it). Just create the main Enpass vault and afterwards the other 2 vaults. Create a separate folder for each vault. Then you'll just connect the Enpass app to the already existing vault 2 and 3 from the appropriate user account. That should be not a problem until you plan to sync the vaults to any mobile devices via cloud storage. For now it works only with WebDAV.
