I do not like the new font spacing, nor the spacing of everything in general! I like to see as much data as I can on my screen, and now I get at least 20% less! Please add a way to put the spacing back! I'm not sure why you guys are messing with the already great UI you already have!!! I'm sure all the "under the hood" things are great, but please leave the UI as it is! Please put it back!

When I start Windows, Enpass 6.12.0 (2238) opens in my face on the desktop. Can I make it open discreetly minimized to the system tray like older versions did?

Both 1Password and Bitwarden support generating/saving SSH keys, allowing subsequent SSH login via SSH Agent with private key verification. It would be even better if Enpass could also support this feature.

This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. Available platform plugins are: wayland-egl, wayland. fish: Job 1, './Enpass' terminated by signal SIGABRT (Abort) ROOT CAUSE The 6.12.6 binary is a static Qt build and the only platform integrations compiled in are "wayland" and "wayland-egl". REQUEST Please include the xcb platform integration in the static Linux build again (or ship Qt dynamically with both xcb and wayland plugins), so that Enpass keeps working on X11. If dropping X11 support is intentional, please state it in the release notes and keep 6.11 available in the repository.

Enpass 6.12.6 (2753, website version), macOS 27.2 (26B5086k), Apple Silicon. Since 6.12.6 added Secure Event Input, Enpass keeps macOS Secure Input enabled for as long as the vault is locked — not just while a password field has focus. Secure Input is a system-wide lockout, so for that whole period no other application can receive key events through a CGEventTap. Last night Enpass held it for nine hours straight with no Enpass window on screen. Your release note says the feature "prevents other apps from monitoring your keystrokes when sensitive password fields have focus". The actual behaviour is far broader. To reproduce: unlock Enpass and Secure Input turns off; close the main window with the red button, with "Autolock When > Main Window is Closed" enabled, and Enpass locks — Secure Input turns on and stays on until you unlock the vault again. The same happens via "System Inactive for" (mine was 1 minute): Enpass autolocks in the background and Secure Input goes on with no Enpass UI visible at all. That second variant is the one that looks like a random system fault. Measured with a 4 Hz poll of IsSecureEventInputEnabled(): the flag goes on 1 s after launch (the app starts locked), off on unlock, on again the moment the window is closed, and it is released only when the Enpass process exits — 13:48:53 here, to the second. This silently breaks text expanders, automation, dictation, accessibility tools and keyboard-layout utilities, with nothing on screen to say why. It is also hard to diagnose: kCGSSessionSecureInputPID records the FIRST process that raised the flag in an episode, so while Enpass holds it underneath, the record can name something unrelated like loginwindow. Please release the flag on window hide/close/minimise and on app deactivation, and tie it to the password field having focus. A locked vault with no visible window has no field to protect. Feedback I would like to suggest adding an option to choose the default page that opens when launching the Enpass Android ,PC,iOS app. Currently, when I open Enpass, the app starts on the Home page, where the Recommended Actions section is displayed prominently. Personally, I don't find this page useful for my daily use, since most of the time I open Enpass to quickly find and access my saved items. I would prefer Enpass to open directly on the Browse page. It would be great if Enpass could provide a setting that allows users to choose their preferred startup page, for example: Home All Items Browse Last opened page This would make the app more convenient and allow users to customize Enpass according to how they actually use it. My preferred default page would be Browse. Thank you for considering this feature.

Enpass for Linux now uses Wayland by default. The regular update channel (stable) carries the Wayland build. If you use Linux Mint or X11 session, or the Wayland build does not work well on your system, switch to our X11 channel using the commands below. This removes the Wayland build and installs the X11 build. Your vault data is not affected. Hi, thanks! yes, like I said in the previous post, it's been partially fixed in 6.12.2: "The Notes fields stay expanded now, once expanded. They're still hidden after app relaunch though." Also, I'd like a QoL feature to disable the bright yellow color for the notes, it really is unnecessary, make it the same color as the rest of the window, the way it used to be. These are not "sticky notes", there is no reason for the notes field to be bright yellow. Both of the above are regressions of usability, it was fine before, there was no need to change these. Please consider fixing this also, thank you!

Our technical team has already fixed the issue where custom section names are automatically capitalized on Windows. The fix is currently being prepared for release and will be included in an upcoming Enpass update.

Enpass Team, if someone "buys" your product, it's because they LIKE your product. If you go changing everything about your product, IT IS NO LONGER THE SAME PRODUCT! It's like going to the auto dealer and buying a Ferrari, and then after a "regular scheduled maintenance" you find the body of your Ferrari now looks like a Ford F-150. This would not be acceptable to anyone. Please put the Ferrari body back on the vehicle. It's the product we all paid for! msecure did this same thing when they came out with version 5. It's why I left them. Please don't follow in their footsteps. The correct way to add changes to the UI, is make them optional. Also, IMHO, the UI should move towards being more like a spreadsheet instead of a power point presentation. A spreadsheet gives you lots of data on your screen, a power point presentation has minimal data but "looks pretty". Form should always follow function, not the other way around. More data is 👍, less data is 👎 Also, less clicks to do something is 👍, adding more clicks to do something is 👎 Please listen to your users, and leave the UI alone. Subject: Regressing usability: Fixed fields, wasted space, and broken search in v6.12 Hi Enpass Team, I need to express my deep frustration with the recent v6.12 UI refresh. The update is a massive step backward in usability for several reasons: Locked Customization: Preventing users from customizing, renaming, or freely moving standard fields above "Personal Data" ruins the flexibility that made Enpass great. Previously, I could fully customize my layouts (e.g., changing generic titles like "Security Question"). Forcing users into a rigid template structure is unacceptable. Wasted Screen Space & Bad UX: The new font and row spacing is way too big, resulting in significantly less information visible on the screen. The new row hover highlights are visually distracting. Furthermore, basic actions are now more complicated, such as requiring two clicks via a three-dot menu to copy a password instead of just one. Broken Search: The search functionality in v6.12 has become completely unreliable, often failing to find data that is clearly present in the vault upon manual inspection. As an early adopter who backed Enpass from the very beginning with a Pro Lifetime License, it hurts to see the software moving in this direction. We supported this project years ago precisely because of its high flexibility and efficiency. Destroying these core features now feels like a betrayal of your most loyal long-term users. This lifetime license is the only reason I am not switching to a competitor immediately. Because v6.12 is essentially unusable for my workflow, I have completely uninstalled it and downgraded back to version 6.11.21. Please do not ignore the feedback of the people who helped build your foundation. Restore the full customizability of all fields, fix the search, and provide options for compact spacing. I will remain on the old version until the previous behavior is restored.

The font used throughout the interface is too small, making it more difficult to read despite the increased spacing; there's no way to increase the size. **I'd rather see fewer items in a larger font (and have to scroll more) than see more items in a smaller, less readable size (and have to scroll less). The box for editing notes is too small. Some of my entries have multiple pages of writing and editing them is annoying in the small box. Having a yellow background for notes is unnecessary and can be harsh on the eyes. Yes, it is the color of a Post-It or a yellow pad of paper, but it's unpleasant. It would be great to have the background for notes be black or white in line with the dark or light theme - or allow the user to choose the color of the background and especially the size of the font. Highlighting of every row on the Item Details when moving your mouse over them is annoying and distracting. Glad to hear about improvements under the hood and I'll get used to the new interface, but I dislike the above. Where can I download the previous version?

I like the the new theme, it catches up the design from the initial simple UWP design language, also making the UIs of Linux and Windows more similar (you ditched dark theme for classic theme on windows few years ago for some reason) I still agree with @bu11etpr00f on the unnecessary extra click for Copy, and the expand button for Note fields seems unneeded too. Good job that you allow Notes to get more space when windows is maximized though. (once expanded). I do miss the one-column view that you got rid of (now you can only have a two or three column view) I would like to be able to to hide the menu-bar, it clutters the nice ui and I never use it.

When generating a password, the "Separated By" drop down allows us to choose one of several separators that will be used throughout the entire password. This functionality is good but I think it can be made better by adding a "multi" option that randomly picks a different separator character between each word. For example if the current separator is "Underscore" then the password would be "Correct_horse_battery_staple". Swiching to the "multi" option would result in a password like "Correct_horse,battery$staple", or "Correct-horse.battery staple" or "Correct$horse#battery_staple" etc.

While I was a firm believer in Enpass for many years, recent developments have convinced me that this has turned into nothing more than a cash grab. The product is no longer user-oriented and shows little to no real focus on improvement. At this point, I honestly believe the software itself is essentially dead. Development feels stagnant, communication is minimal, and critical issues keep piling up without meaningful action. I can no longer recommend Enpass, even though I personally convinced more than six people to adopt it in the past. The way the “team” handles requests, bug reports, and improvement suggestions is simply unacceptable and, frankly, business-killing. I’m not even convinced there is a real team left, it feels more like a handful of people copy-pasting AI-generated responses. Letting something as basic as a signature expire only reinforces the impression that they no longer care. For users on a monthly subscription, my honest advice is to cancel and switch to an alternative. For those of us who paid for a “lifetime” license: I’m still trying to figure out how to get out of this without just writing it off as a loss.

The recent addition of the PRF (Pseudo-Random Function) extension to FIDO, which enables symmetric encryption, is indeed a key milestone we were waiting for. With this in place, we are actively working toward adding USB security key / FIDO2 support, including YubiKeys, in Enpass. Our goal is to support hardware keys both as a master-passwordless authentication method and as a multi-factor authentication (MFA) option. While we don’t have an exact release date to share yet, our current plan is to introduce this support in Q2 of this year. We appreciate your patience and continued interest.

I've just learned that PBKDF2 encryption is outdated and vulnerable, and Argon2 or bcrypt are now the preferred password hashing implementation in modern password managers. When is Enpass going to upgrade or at least provide the option of using a secure password hasher? Raising the bar on security

Reddit login popup can't be autofilled with Enpass. Windows 10, Brave Browser, freshly updated Enpass. Bummer. However, I can generate a new password to the password field.

I love Enpass, but I find that very often, the browser autofill popup opens to its "identity" panel, rather than the much more likely to be relevant "login" panel. This can make some users assume there are no saved passwords for the site, or, at the very least, add a little frustration and extra effort to an otherwise seamless experience. Please allow users (or just change the default behavior) to tune the form-matching heuristics so that for two-stage login forms (for instance, forms that require an email or username to be submitted before the password field is presented), the login panel is more likely to appear. Unless a form contains a full name or address field, I don't understand the reasoning behind requiring an extra click to get to the more likely desired Login panel.

Enpass on Windows 11 for ARM crashes a lot; it crashes whenever it uses Windows Hello to unlock Enpass. I use Enpass on multiple x64 versions of Windows 11, and I do not see these crashes. If I change Enpass to use a PIN to unlock, I don't seem to see these crashes, so it appears this is related to Windows Hello. Is this specific to Windows on ARM64? Could we get a natively-compiled version for ARM64? This is on a Lenovo Slim 7x with the CPU: Snapdragon(R) X Elite - X1E78100

I'm seeing the same things on Windows 11. Super annoying. I face unlock, it looks like it is about to open and then BOOM. App is closed, and I have to type my 100-character master password back in!! Super annoying. Please fix!

Hi there, i managed to make it work by deinstalling enpass (it was installed as snap package) and then reinstall it using the apt source provided by enpass (https://support.enpass.io/app/getting_started/installing_enpass.htm) now it works for ubuntu 25. thanks a lot for help!

I just switched to using enpass from robo form. Enpass is not handling registration forms or credit card formsat all on android 16. It would not even capture my login properly not this forum when using Vivaldi. I have disabled the password manager/credit card and address for each browser expecting enpass to fill in this information. Ii have setup all of the credit card and contacts in enpass already. But when I got a registration form I do not get any option to fill. If I go to the enpass keyboard there is a option to tap to fill and the I can manually search for a contact that manually search for a field. This is not a solution. Is this application capable of doing handling All credit card forms and registration forms on an Android phone? So far the plugin on Windows seems to work much better. But really struggling with this on my phone. Yes please! I can understand if the field cannot be extended out to the left - as per my screenshot, but surely the height can be set to automatically expand to the height of the window - that's a basic feature in most windows deskop applications. Thanks Gary

A subscription is a subscription, whether you sign up for one month, one year, or three years — it makes no difference. Subscription software is out of the question for me. Since I still have a perpetual license, I will continue to use Enpass for the time being. However, my search for alternatives has revealed some interesting password managers that I am currently reviewing in more detail. Once I have made a decision, I will begin the migration so that I can leave Enpass immediately if the situation worsens and perpetual license holders are forced to switch to a subscription. I firmly believe that this will happen in the foreseeable future. Otherwise, they could have offered a fair perpetual license model, as other software providers do. For example, offering a perpetual license and updates for one year at a fair and reasonable price. I realize that software development and maintenance cost money and that the developer company needs to make money. But this must be done in a fair manner so that I, as a customer, do not feel cheated. Subscription models are not a fair way to sell software to private customers. For a company where employees are constantly coming and going, and licenses are therefore added and removed, a rental model makes sense because it can be constantly adapted to needs. For private users, a subscription model is simply expensive. When I consider how much time I spend using the software and how much work I put into it (in the case of a password manager, maintaining the data), it is extremely important to be able to rely on still being able to access the software and the content created with it tomorrow. No matter how low the monthly subscription fee for the software is, as soon as I can't pay it — for whatever reason — I lose everything I've done with the software, and that adds up to a lot over time. That alone makes subscription software so expensive for me that I'm not willing to use it. I always have to pay at a certain time in order to continue accessing my own assets. This completely takes away my control over my budget. If I subscribed to all the software I use, I would spend a large part of my income on regular payments. With purchased software, I have control over my budget and I am the one who decides whether and when I spend money or not. So you can expect me to be a former Enpass user in the foreseeable future. That makes me a little sad because I really enjoyed using the program as it has many features that I find useful and helpful. I switched from 1Password to Enpass because Enpass was offered as a purchase license, while 1Password was only offered as a subscription and with the requirement to use their cloud.

I'm in a similar situation here. Today, I wanted to recommend Enpass as a password manager to a friend because it offers a lifetime license. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it anymore and told my friend not to use Enpass. Since I'm lucky enough to still have a permanent license, I'm not under too much time pressure to find a new password manager for myself. Experience shows that switching to a subscription-only model and removing the option to purchase a lifetime license is a bad sign for the future. Experience also teaches us that subscription models are always bad and expensive for customers. That's why I quickly replaced all programs that switched to subscription models with ones that also offer a perpetual license. I have also started looking for a different password manager today to replace Enpass. If Enpass had decided to offer a discounted upgrade price for owners of a perpetual license for a new major version, I would have gone along with it. With the switch to a subscription model, I fear the worst for me as a customer and will now go a different way.

Until last week, the lifetime plan was still available on the website. I had checked the price at the time, but now that option is no longer offered.
