  2. Regarding the topic as a whole: In my mind, my last post does seem to indicate that the Enpass Password Generator is too conservative. That's based on my limited research. Anybody out there from Enpass? Is there an explanation of the methodology that would show that the Password Generator is "just right?" I'd be among the happiest to hear about it, as I'm about to create all my future passwords based off of my last post. lol
  3. So, the question was whether or not we have some external authority we could trust to tell us what makes an acceptable password. Individuals will have they're own assessment and opinion on what makes sense for them, and that may be a many-character password. But the idea was that maybe we could trust these other password checker sites. There was some evidence that they were using a weaker strength-testing-tool like zxcvbn, which seemed a reasonable point to be made suggesting that the other sites could not be trusted. All well and good. It may be safe to say that we shouldn't use any of those sites (although of course they would protest). But then I found the following chart, and ones similar to it. It shows a 12-character password taking 37,000 years to crack. If you change it at least once in the next five years you're probably going to be alright. Or, there will be all sorts of news stories about how computing power just jumped quadrillion in which case no password is going to matter. That kind of thing. Credit goes to Komando, the authors of the following page, and to Hive Systems themselves, of course: https://www.komando.com/security/check-your-password-strength/783192/ Next, I found a cost calculator that showed it would cost millions of dollars to crack that 12-character password. That's part of the equation too. When would a hacker just give up and not care about your stuff anymore? I think "millions" meets that definition. And if you're thinking governments want access to your Netflix account, well... So I feel like that's a couple of empirical ways of looking at it. There doesn't seem to be any right answer out there, at least not above 12-characters. Smarter people than me argue for pages and pages on Reddit and none of them have reached a universal conclusion - although the frantic screeching sound heard when discussing 2-9 characters starts to drop precipitously once you reach 10, 11, and 12. People at least seem a lot less certain that 12 is bad, is what I mean. There is also the concept that authentication processes will change/improve in the near future also - likely making our passwords defunct long before even their expected expiry date. We're already headed to passwordless, for example. Finally, there's humility. Nobody cares about me so much as to spend $100k, never mind a million, to get at my account. They're going to give up rather quickly. The following works, for me - use at your own discretion: upper lower numbers symbols, most likely in a memorable passphrase format (1boston~Beer) 12-character-minimum is "enough" for normal use - Netflix, LinkedIn, Facebook, email 14-character-minimum for financial accounts and all-encompassing services like Google/iCloud* 15-20+ characters just as a natural consequence of the passphrase growing to be that long (because it's so easy)(1boston~beer-keg.-yay!) * only because of the priceless value (to me) of my documents and photos (e.g. in Google Drive), and also how it cascades to other services, like "Google Sign-in" used for other sites. Bottom line: make sure you don't ever drop below 12, but then have a bias towards 15-20, however many characters your passphrase turns out to be/whatever's the length of the easiest passphrase

  5. Despite the recent update to 6.10.2 that fixed whatever was happening with OneDrive, it's no surprise to those of us still carrying this error, that it did not fix the issue with Dropbox. As has been stated multiple times, it's an issue specific to Dropbox. Multiple times a day, I get the dialog shown below. It's not like I can just stop syncing the folder this file is contained within because I can't find this file anywhere. If this error is not going to be fixed, can we at least get some guidance as to whether or not it is OK to select "Move out of Dropbox" and be done with it? Almost 4 months later and we still don't have an answer as to whether that is reasonable or not, or the consequences of doing so. And for the billionth time, it has nothing to do with syncing a Documents folder to Dropbox. No one is doing that.
  6. I have the following problem: I have 1 iPhone, 1 iPad and a Windows computer. While the correct TOTP is displayed on my iPhone and iPad, I only get incorrect TOTP on the Windows client. All devices synchronize against a NAS and are up to date. The key for the TOTP is also the same on all devices, but the resulting value is different on the Windows client... I have already reinstalled Enpass on the Windows client, but the problem still persists.
  7. I'm speechless did you even think on it a little before answering. 1Pass, Bitwarden many other major players give atleast 100MB per file size limit. Anyone else commenting please don't do baseless comments, think and answer.
  8. I would suppose you use a different service for that feature, as a password manager is not for storing large data.
  9. Right now I think file limit is 5MB. Don't really know why. We bring our own storage anyways. I prefer storing my files in an encrypted format rather than the vanilla file itself.
  10. Dear Support, I don't know how to describe the issue, but let me try this way : I'm running EnPass on my Mac, and sometimes, when I'm not touching my device for a few days, coming back on EnPass, when it's trying to unlock, it's asking me for the PIN, and when I enter it, it says it's wrong !? Even when I retry a few times, ensuring I'm typing slowly... So I skip that and go for the full password, which then works fine. I even already tried changing the PIN, but it happened again today. I'm not using a Magic Keyboard with the Touch ID, I'm on a Mac Mini with some Logitech external keyboard, so no other "hardware" security chip except what's in the Mac Mini itself. Any idea ? Regards, Stéphane

  12. I've reported this issue to the Enpass technical team. They are currently investigating it, and I will reach out to you with updates as soon as I receive them. Thank you for your patience, and feel free to provide any additional feedback. #SI-3822
  13. Not activation process cannot be done offline as we need to verify your purchase for licensing. However, you can use Enpass on an offline device without requiring authentication from Enpass servers. Please note that some features, such as data synchronization across devices, breach monitoring, and 2FA, will not be available in offline mode. Your data will be saved locally on the device, allowing you to access and manage it without an internet connection.
  14. Thank you for reaching out and providing your valuable feedback. I've forwarded your request to our development team for their consideration. We greatly appreciate your input as it helps us improve our product and better meet the needs of our users. #SI-3821
  15. Certainly, we're here to assist you. To help us investigate the issue, please provide the following details: Enpass and OS version of your machine. Enpass extension version. If there is a specific URL where this issue is occurring. Share a screen recording of the issue, as it will help us better understand the problem.
  16. I use Wi-Fi sync for years but it suddenly stopped working. Mac is server and active, trying to sync the iPhone I get en error message in vault settings: "password for data on Wi-Fi sync needed". When I select "solve" it wants me to put in a "password for the data on Wi-Fi Sync". Filling this out it says, master password will be changed if I move on, but anyways if I try the Wi-Fi sync password or the Enpass master password I get an error "wrong password". I already tried to set ab a new Wi-Fi sync connection using the QR code with no success. I can use Enpass on the Mac and on the iPhone with the old settings, but can't sync the data anymore.
  17. I just installed Enpass on my tablet. I'm trying to give permission to autofill on the Brace browser, but keep getting an error "Brave keeps stopping". Brave IS running, it's NOT stopping! How can I get Empass to autofill on my Brave browser?
  18. Thanks. But how about the 'Activate Enpass' dialogue? It seems I cannot get past this dialogue because it can't connect to some server (an Enpass server, I presume). Because of that, I can't use Enpass at all on that machine. My question is thus: can I do this activation step offline in some way? Thanks, Guno
  19. Enpass Team, is there any update on this request. It's been a while now. FWIW, I am having to use KeePassXC for this specific use case and would love to be able to have all my passwords in one place instead.
  20. Hi. I know https is the only way to go but, as an example, my router which is only accessible on my local network, does not support ssl. Well it does but it doesn't support ssl certificates unless i enable it to be accessible from the web which I don't want. Which would mean if I enable https, there's no valid certificate and I have to bypass the security warning every time go to the page. I feel there should be at least some way to whitelist certain urls or ip-adresses and let enpass autofill sites I have approved, even if they are not ssl sites. It's annoying to have to copy the username and password every time. If I save passwords in my browser it can autofill non ssl-pages fine, so even if I respect the limitation, I feel like there at least should be an option to whitelist certain pages that I frequent more often. Would this be possible?

  22. Hmm seem to have issues attaching a .mp4 file, and also trying to paste a link to my cloud with the .mp4 fails..... Is there any way I can send a video to you ??
  23. Hi I am using next cloud sync Quickly tried file sync, and showed the same problem. Attached is a video taken with my phone, with next cloud sync. After saving a change, the sync starts and some time later. All items are shown. Still showing the item I was saving, but left window is changed to showing all items. The window in the middle shows all items, sorted by title Here is a link to a .mp4 file I have uploaded to my cloud :
  24. Is there a plan for it at all? I would like to have equivalent features on Android and iOS let alone every other password manager do.
  25. Certainly, to assist you better, could you please provide the following information: Which cloud service are you using to sync your Enpass vault? (e.g., iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) If possible, could you share a screen recording demonstrating the issue? This would help us understand the problem more clearly. Once we have this information, we'll be in a better position to troubleshoot and provide a solution. Thank you for your cooperation!
  26. I apologize for any confusion. To assist you better, could you please clarify if you're having trouble with your master password or your vault password?
  27. I've reported this issue to the Enpass technical team. They are currently investigating it, and I will reach out to you with updates as soon as I receive them. #SI-3812
