ki5678olr6tgk Posted August 17, 2020 Report Posted August 17, 2020 My Enpass doesn't play nice with the new Firefox for Android. Have any of you tested it out?
Pratyush Sharma Posted August 18, 2020 Report Posted August 18, 2020 Hi @ki5678olr6tgk, Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. It would be a great help if you can explain this scenario a bit more, it will help in a clear understanding of the problem before further proceedings. A screenshot, would be great. Also, let us know following details: On which device (along with OS version) are you using Enpass? Which Enpass version are you using? Which Firefox version are you using? If possible, please share the screenshot of the Enpass autofill settings.
Dentonthebear Posted August 18, 2020 Report Posted August 18, 2020 Hi @ki5678olr6tgk I am running the following and all seems okay to me, what are your specs? Firefox v68.11.0 Android 9 Enpass 6.5.0.390
ki5678olr6tgk Posted August 23, 2020 Author Report Posted August 23, 2020 (edited) I have the most up to date versions of the apps, my apps update automatically. The problem is that the autofill popup next to the credentials fields appear and disappear rapidly, thus I can't use the autofill option and I need to go to Enpass and copy-paste to the login fields. I'll have a look at autofill options and will report back. Device: Nokia 7.1, Android OS: latest with July patch. Firefox: 79.0.5 (Build #2015758619), Enpass: 6.5.0.390 Addition: I tried to screencap the autofill options but screen capture is prohibited in the app. I'm using Android autofill service, other tick boxes are unchecked. I also can't screencap the issue since I can't screencap sub-second flickering of the autofill invoking box. Edited August 23, 2020 by ki5678olr6tgk Device, OS, Firefox, Enpass plus screencap info
Garima Singh Posted August 24, 2020 Report Posted August 24, 2020 Hey @ki5678olr6tgk Thanks for reporting this issue. I have forwarded your inputs to the QA team to identify the issue. To make a video or screenshot of it, you may use another device to capture the image/video and you can share it with us. Thanks for your cooperation.
Garima Singh Posted August 25, 2020 Report Posted August 25, 2020 Hey @ki5678olr6tgk I would like to share that the QA team has found the issue and now our Dev team is looking into it towards a fix. Your co-operation will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
Daniel B. Posted September 6, 2020 Report Posted September 6, 2020 Hi, I have the exact same issue with Android 10 on a OnePlus 6 Firefox 80.1.2 (Build #2015761283) Enpass 6.5.0.390 Here is a screencast: https://1drv.ms/v/s!AnZDDAK9zYn_gvt2dNw-4_EhBKLEIQ Must of the time it flickers up a short time and disappears again. There are some circumstances the overlay is visible as I would expect it but I can't reproduce this behavior because it seems pretty random to me. Would be great to get a fix for that
Garima Singh Posted September 7, 2020 Report Posted September 7, 2020 Hey @Daniel B. Welcome to the forum! Thanks for sharing your inputs. Would like to share that our team is already working on the same towards a fix. Please stay tuned for the new update and let us know if the problem still persists after the updated version. Thanks for understanding!
paulsiu Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 I like to report that I am having the same issue. Has the fix been implemented?
Garima Singh Posted September 21, 2020 Report Posted September 21, 2020 Hey @paulsiu We are still working for the fix of this issue. Please co-operate with us a little more. Thanks!
paulsiu Posted September 21, 2020 Report Posted September 21, 2020 Thank you, as long as someone is working on it.. Paul
Garima Singh Posted September 22, 2020 Report Posted September 22, 2020 Hey @paulsiu Thanks for the patience. On detailed analysis we found that the flicking of auto fill pop up is caused by Firefox & Auto fill framework miss-communication bug. All password managers are behaving same way. There is little we can do but to wait for a fix from Firefox. Thanks!
Daniel B. Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 (edited) Hi @Garima Singh Thank you so much for taking care of this. Is there a bug report / ticket? Maybe I can provide something useful. Just let me know. Cheers, Daniel Edited September 29, 2020 by Daniel B.
Danial Posted October 22, 2020 Report Posted October 22, 2020 I want to provide an update. On the nightly version of Firefox the flickering has been fixed. Although the website domain does not seem to be getting passed to Enpass afterwards.... It never matches any of your logins you have manually search through the full list 2
Daniel B. Posted October 22, 2020 Report Posted October 22, 2020 Thanks for the update. I can confirm the fix. I also can confirm that the domain matching feature does not work. I get only the item for the Firefox sync login. 1
Garima Singh Posted October 23, 2020 Report Posted October 23, 2020 Hey @Daniel B. & @Danial Thanks for notifying us and also for sharing your valuable inputs. The same has been noted.
Garima Singh Posted February 25, 2021 Report Posted February 25, 2021 Hey @Lox_ Thanks for writing in. I have checked this with my team and found that the issue is caused by Firefox & Auto-fill framework miss-communication. Enpass is unable to identify the domain, so doesn't show the matching entry. Once the developer of the app sets up the domain or package name, Enpass will work as expected. Thanks!
Jonatan Posted May 22, 2021 Report Posted May 22, 2021 Still unresolved. When can we expect a fix? Firefox is quite popular. I believe it falls within your responsibility to communicate with Mozilla to the extent that this is necessary to enable usability of your app. Without autofill, Enpass is hardly usable at all.
Pratyush Sharma Posted May 24, 2021 Report Posted May 24, 2021 Hi @Jonathan, I can understand your concern and apologies for the same. As @Garima Singhhas mentioned the issue is Firefox specific and they do not expose the url using which Enpass could have suggested the matching items. Thanks!
ritomk Posted September 16, 2021 Report Posted September 16, 2021 Try to use the latest Chrome browser app on your device... 1
nataloko Posted October 30, 2021 Report Posted October 30, 2021 2021 about to end and this is still not fixed. Glad that I did some research before giving Enpass my money... Bitwarden and 1password both work fine with Firefox.
