Autofilling and Desktop Browser Extensions

A place for discussions about anything related to filling and saving details automatically while browsing in Mobile Apps and Desktops.

  1. I'm suddenly getting Error 403 when trying to use the browser extension in Google Chrome, latest version 101.0.4951.41. I haven't changed any setting or done anything with my browser between when it worked and now. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the browser extension from the chrome web store and no change. What's going on? What do I have to do to get the extension working again? Thanks for your help

  2. Hi all, the inline autofill feature never worked in my firefox. The normal popup of the extention works. I have the FF version 98.0.2 and I just downloaded the latest browser extention but it does not appear in the input/password fields. On my second laptop it works flawlessly. When I tried to compare the settings, I noticed that the autofill settings are missing. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks!

Hi All, quick question. I purchased Enpass through the Windows store and got it mostly setup on my laptop. It asked to choose a browser and I picked Chrome. When I picked it, it opened chrome and took me to the Edge web store. While I like Edge, I prefer Chrome. I don't see anywhere in the settings to pick a browser. Is there a way to do this? Thank you.

  6. My Enpass entries ususally consist of three elements: E-Mail, username and password. Most websites only want two of those, which leads to the problem that sometimes Enpass puts the uesername into a field that expects my e-mail adress. (In case it matters, i usually click on the enpass extension icon in my browser, then double-click on the entry in the popup window to auto-fill the login text fields) How can i tell enpass which fields it should use for the auto-fill?

  7. I am using Enpass on an intranet without access to internet and would like to install the Chrome extension. Is that possible and how do I do that then?

  8. As probably quite a few Enpass users, I build and support websites. Elementor is a popular Wordpress builder. It has several shortcuts build in, for example CMD-E (Mac) / CTRL-E (Windows) to invoke the Elementor Finder. The Enpass plugin blocks these shortcuts. (Now using Firefox 97.0.1 on MacOS 10.14.6) This adds to the already frustrating fact that all kinds of forms don't work properly. Not just on one site but everywhere. The text cursor jumps to a different text field at random moments. This is known since november if I remember correctly. Is there a fix in sight yet?

  9. Hi, since your large update of the browser extension (which, generally speaking, I like) I have been unable to edit the signature in Roundcube, the cursor always jumps back to the name field. I only draw the connection recently. Roundcube is an essential tool on many a website. Would you please work on your plugin to stop it interfering with Roundcube? It is very inconvenient to always either switch off the Enpass plugin or to have to go to an incognito window or another browser every time I want to edit a signature. Thanks! Edit: I am using the skin "Elastic" in Roundcube.

Hello, I have some websites with more than one login but I normally use only one of them - I'm the "family admin" and need to keep some of my family's passwords just in case. So here's my question: Can I make one entry a default entry so when I open a website this entry is used for autofill and the others can be chosen in the dropdown menu? Best Regards

  11. When Mozilla VPN is turned on, the Enpass Assistant extension in Microsoft Edge (Version 95.0.1020.5 (Official build) dev (64-bit)) and Firefox ( 92.0 64-bit) does not behave correctly. In both browsers when the cursor is placed in a User ID or password box and the Enpass extension icon is clicked in the browser toolbar, the Looking for Enpass... browser page opens as if the desktop app is not logged in and running. I have it open and logged in on the desktop. The assistant seems to find the desktop app because if it is minimized to the desktop toolbar, the browser app restores it to the desktop. The final message from the browser extension is "Enpass Assistant is un…

  12. Hi Guys, on many Apps and on chrome mobile browser the password autofill ist not working correctly. It will autofill only username or email address in all fields incl. password field. Switch off and on the autofill function in enpass app omegle xender solves the issue only for the next login attempt. After that its broken again. Im using Android 10 (Oxygen OS 10.0.0.4) on my OnePlus 7 Pro. Any chance to get this issie fixed?

  15. I am looking for a way to activate enpass with a pin instead of having to enter the master password every time I open it. It's getting to be quite a pain.

  16. Started by agent92,

In the Enpass plugin for Firefox I have set ctrl + , as the shortcut for "Autofill or show Enpass". When I hit ctrl + , it does open up the Enpass popup that allows me to autofill my password but it also opens up the settings page for the Enpass plugin which is very annoying. This started after updating the plugin to the latest version that was recently released. The other two keyboard shortcuts I have left empty.

  17. I really enjoy the new Inline Autofill Popup Menu, but it can be a bit intrusive and I would almost prefer to not have it show on page load. There is a setting to disable it, but then it also removes the input icon. I would prefer to keep the input icon so if I click on it then it would show the Inline Autofill Popup menu. So it would be great if there was a setting for "Hide Inline Autofill Popup on page load". This setting would only be available when "Show Inline Autofill Popup Menu" is enabled. Also if you click on the input icon (which shows user intent) then the Inline Autofill Popup Menu should show above all other menus or context menus. Currently the …

How can I turn off the new Enpass form listener that pops up and makes it almost impossible to use any web-form? It should be presenting itself only for login fields, but it's not...it appears at all kinds of annoying moments. It's annoying as heck and there seems to be no way to completely disable it. I've been using Enpass for 5+ years on 5 different platforms and super ready to ditch it now I have attached an example of it hi-jacking a random blog comment form. In the case of drop-downs it makes it almost impossible to select an option.

I tried to update the password on a webpage and got (after clicking the "new recommended password" button on the password field on the website), a pop-up saying update pw for entry (drop down list which entry to update). Here is the problem. If I say update, the pw gets updated, but I don't know yet, if the pw will work on the website (e.g. certain special symbols are not allowed). If I click on the webpage to change, to see the result if it works, the change PW pop-up disappears with the new PW. If the change was successful, I lost the new PW... In the PW sections of the Enpass application, the new PW is not listed. -> dead end. If I click update …

I have a bank website with different type of data for input , not the usual username+password fields. is there a way to teach Enpass to autofill it? 1password could not do it but I messed around with the login template in a way that it finally was able to do so , but the same messing around did not work with Enpass for me (imported) isn't there a way to autofill a form then "save" it as is then Enpass can just refill it each time?

I try to autofill login credentials on https://twitter.com/i/flow/login on Windows 11 Pro in Vivaldi browser 5.0.2497.48 (Stable channel) (64-Bit) with Enpass extension 6.7.4 installed. First, there is no inline popup. So I have to open the Enpass dock. When double-click on the entry with the matching credentials, a new website is opening in a new tab - https://twitter.com. I have to copy and paste the credentials manually. The same is happening in Microsoft Edge browser 98.0.1108.43 (Offizielles Build) (64-Bit) with Enpass extension 6.7.0 installed.

  22. I'm using Vivaldi browser with Enpass browser extension 6.7.4 on Windows 11. On some specific websites I don't want to use the autofill-popup and that's why I add them into the Blacklist of the browser extension. But the extension is not saving the complete website address. Here is my example to show you the behavior. I want to have the autofill-popup on this site: https://www.my-domain.de/acp/index.php But I don't want to get the autofill-popup here on this site: https://www.my-domain.de/acp/index.php?user-search/ When I try to add this site into the Blacklist of the extension, this specific website isn't blocked, as you can see on the screenshots. …

I have absolutely no idea why in the world did EnPass offer me to fill Credit Card info on Startpage search field bar. I can tell you that I disabled the "exact domain match" in the settings because Enpass did not recognise my "protonmail.com" login because the actually login page was "https://account.protonmail.com/login" In addition, I do not see a reason for this exact domain thing. Most sites have 1 login account which works site wide if it was on domain.com or xxx.domain.com. As long the domain.com is present it should present the correlated login. 1Password does not have an extra option for this and neither do I think other password managers do. Maybe there is…

  24. Hi there, Each time I use the autofill extension on Firefox to fill in a stored identity, Enpass automatically adds a comma (",") to the street address field. While this might be helpful in some countries where this is custom, I find it quite annoying... Any idea how to get rid of this?

  25. Since installing the new Enpass extension on the Mac (in Brave and Edge browsers) the old familiar fill password shortcut of 'CMD /' no longer works and instead this launches the extension page. In the browser shortcuts settings you can also not set 'CMD /' as a shortcut to use. This is driving me insane. Now I have to clock on Enpass to get the password data to be filled in. Is there any way to change it to how it used to be?
