  1. Hi @eleith

    I really appreciate you for your exploring the app and giving time in finding all these valuable suggestions and solution.

    1. [desktop] ctrl+f not only puts focus on the search field, but highlights any text currently in it entirely

    problem: when searching for an entry with ctrl+f and then coming back later and hitting ctrl+f to search for another entry, you have to manually backspace to remove the previous search entry.

    solution: instead, on ctrl+f, instead of just focusing on the search field, you could highlight the previous entry entirely, such that you can start typing a new entry.

    Thanks for reporting this issue. Noted and forwarded to dev team, so they can try to fix this issue asap.

    2. [desktop] upon copying any field in an entry, minimize enpass.io

    problem: when clicking the icon to copy a field in an entry, you have to minimize to get to the app you need to paste the field in

    solution: generally, the app (ex: browser) is an app sitting behind enpass.io, so minimizing it will mostly be what you want (keypassx does this and it is extremely useful)

    Noted your suggestion.

    7. [browser extension] allow shortcuts for individual fields, not just auto-fill

    problem: many sites just don't work with the enpass.io autofill and what you want is just quick access to individual fields (totp, username, password, url, etc)

    solution: allow browser extension to search for an entry and quickly copy/paste individual fields

    3. [desktop] key board shortcut to copy current entry username, password

    problem: currently, you have to use the mouse to copy any field in the entry

    solution: assign shortcuts for common fields (username, password, url)

    solution bonus: build this on top of (2) and you have a great feature from keypassx that is useful

    The suggested feature is already there, you can use following shortcut keys:-

    • To Copy  Username --> Ctrl+Shift+U
    • To Copy Password --> Ctrl+Shift+P
    • To Copy  URL --> Ctrl+Shift+R
    • To Copy  TOTP --> Ctrl+Shift+T
    • To launch URL --> Ctrl+Shift +L

    4. [desktop + mobile] allow user to choose the filename of the wallet (not just the folder location)

    problem: desktop client forces the filename walletx.db but mobile sync forces the filename sync_default.walletx. thus desktop users can not use client sync libraries but are forced to use enpass.io sync feature.

    solution: allow desktop and mobile clients to choose the filename of their wallet, so users have more control over what sync clients to use. right now, desktop users have to maintain TWO wallets; a walletx.db AND a sync_default.walletx (if they wanted mobile to sync).

    . [android] as a new user, when choosing to restore from webdav, allow user to use same credentials to setup sync

    problem: after you restore from webdav, mobile app still needs sync to be setup, even though it is likely it will be the same credentials from the restore settings

    solution: allow users to choose not only to restore but save restore credentials as sync credentials, so they don't have to enter credentials twice

    Already been implemented and will be available in next update.

    6. [desktop] allow desktop to remain unlocked even after laptop suspends / awakes

    problem: the mobile app can be quickly unlocked with fingerprint after master password was used once, but desktop locks on each suspend (which is often for laptops)

    solution: allow users to choose a pin or just leave app unlocked, even if laptop is suspended (basically, be on par with mobile flexibility)

    Already been implemented and will be available in next update.

    8. [android] use of keyboard makes an enpass.io bottom bar appear even on other screens beyond what you used the keyboard for

    problem: after using the enpass.io keyboard, sometimes on future screens, even with the keyboard closed, you see a thin bottom bar on the bottom for enpass.io

    solution: remove the bar entirely, it isn't useful if the keyboard isn't showing. the notification is good enough for this

    9. [android BUG] use of keyboard sometimes refreshes, causing entry to be lost.

    problem: when filling out a form that has many entries, notification can't be used. thus keyboard is a nice solution. but if keyboard refreshes, entry is lost.

    solution: have keyboard retain entry till keyboard is changed back to google keyboard, allowing for entry of longer forms

  2. Hi @heinetz

    Thanks for trying Enpass!

    Unfortunately I am missing in Enpass important information, which I had stored in 1Password!

    For example, in 1Password, there is a field "location" that does not take into account when importing.

    Is there any way to import all fields when importing?

    Sorry to say but currently it's not possible . We have noted it down and try to fix this issue asap. Please bear with us!

    is there a way to enable Windows Hello support for the desktop version of Enpass like the UWP, considering we have to use the desktop program to make it work?

    Currently there is no API available for Win32 apps. We are waiting for official release of any relevant APIs and as soon as we have them, we will start working on this feature.

    • still a few bugs to iron:
      1/ sometimes, the windows of Enpass does not appear when cliking on the extension button, forcing to "recharge the extension" to have the right behaviour
      2/ the window is quite small on a Surface Pro 3 and could be slightly bigger as it is quite cramped

    Thanks for reporting these issue. I have noted down this issue in bug tracker and forwarded to dev team, so they can try to fix this issue asap.

  4. Hi @PepeCZ

    Thanks for writing in.  As you know there are two Enpass versions for Windows: Traditional Windows version and Windows Store version ( UWP).

    The Traditional Windows version is more powerful and Free under our policy of free desktop versions for Enpass. It was always free and we never charged for this.

    The Store version was first released for Windows Phones and shared the purchased license with the Modern Windows App (Former name for store Apps Windows 8.1) under Universal scheme of Microsoft while our traditional Windows version was free since day one.

    The Free Traditional version has below extra features which are not there in Paid Store version

    • Importing data from other software.
    • Support of Enpass browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Vivaldi, Opera and Safari (Mac).
    • Auto run at system startup.
    • Password Audit.

    Below are some links to user manual of different versions to throw more light of their functionality

    Traditional Windows: https://www.enpass.io/docs/desktop-windows/getting_start.html
    UWP Windows 10: https://www.enpass.io/docs/uwp/create.html
    Windows 8 Modern App: https://www.enpass.io/docs/winphone/getting_start.html

  5. Hi @archetwist

    I would like to let you know that Enpass saves some settings in system registry. When you run app without inserting the Pen Drive (external USB stick), it won't find any data file in the previous location. New setup screen will come and due to security reason it clears all the old settings from registry.

    I recommend you to try our portable version, which store settings along with the data file and you will not face this issue anymore.

    Cheers!

  6. Hi @Mandrake

    Sorry to hear about your trouble. To diagnose this issue I want a little help from your side. Please follow these steps:

    Step 1:

    • Log into Enpass --> Go to Tools --> Settings --> General --> Enable Minimize App to System Tray.
    • Now click (Single click) on Enpass icon in the System tray and check whether it display Enpass mini window.

    Step 2:

    • Open Task Manager --> Tap Details --> And check Enpass.exe and Enpasshelper.exe is there?

    And also please provide some more details like Enpass version, Antivirus /Firewall/third party network security/ any security related Extension or Proxy are you using.

  7. Hi @archetwist,

    Sorry to hear about your trouble and I apologize for the late reply.  We were trying to reproduce this issue on our end and haven't been able to. Could you provide steps to reproduce the issue and also please provide some more details for further investigation.

    • On which devices (all of them, along with OS version) are you using Enpass?
    • Are you using external drive to store Enpass data in all devices?
  8. Hi @samw5

    I’m sorry to hear that the issue is not resolved completely. Please check and make sure you are using same Google Drive account in both devices. Also log into your Google Drive account and look for the Enpass folder there (should be one Enpass folder there). Now inside that folder, check for the sync_default.walletx for the number of copies it has (should be one).
